Was super stoked, but then was super sad as it doesn't taste the same anymore. We've been patronizing Kim Khanh for years now -- like close to 10 years, probably through several owners -- and it's the first time I was slightly disappointed with my experience. The portions have shrunk -- I'd much rather they raise the prices and leave the portions alone. I thought the bun bo hue was decent, nice broth and not greasy. The fresh spring rolls were not great. Bo luc lac was nice and tasty. We always get the banh hoi -- like I said, shrunk in size like by 30%. Hope it improves.... it's been our family fave for years now. Sad to see it go down hill.

I'm not one of those people who will repeatedly patronise the same restaurant but I do have a regular rotation system happening for cheap, fast Asian food and Kim Khanh is in that rotation. The restaurant won't win any prizes for interior decor unless being kitsch makes a comeback but for flavoursome, fresh Vietnamese fare, try their pork ball and vermicelli hand rolls. Opening Hours: Lunch and Dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 11am

Recently opened in Inala is this new air-conditioned Vietnamese restaurant featuring all your…read morefavourite Viet dishes. Cheap, generous servings of pho and various dishes. The broth of the pho was delicious, albeit a little on the weak/watered down side. The Viet iced coffee (listed as iced white coffee) is strong and served in a sealed plastic cup. They have various Asian cold desserts (grass jelly!). The restaurant itself is clean and basic with ample seating for groups of 2-6. The staff are still finding their footing but are trying their best at providing efficient service. It's one of the nicer places to eat within Inala and still very cheap. Mid-week at lunchtime saw this place still bustling and almost at full capacity! I'd suggest it if you're ever in the area!

The waitstaff aren't too bad in general, however, there was one person in particular that definitely stood out and made an big impression on us. He works behind the counter and he is extremely warm, friendly and helpful and greets us in and out with a huge smile every time. In fact, he stuck his head out the door to greet us before we even entered the place which we kinda found a bit comical since most Vietnamese people I know (or people in general) aren't anywhere near this friendly :D I also feel that he is truly genuine and not simply being friendly for the sake of what's in our wallets. The food is of a excellent standard, portion sizes are very, very generous even for what you're paying. I've only eaten here twice, and only had a few dishes, but I can tell that the chef here knows his stuff and executes the dishes very well. My friend ordered a Com Do Ga Chien Gion (Crispy Chicken with Red Rice) and the chicken was cooked to perfection... succulent chicken with a nice thin crispy layer of skin over it. It just had a great delicious crispy texture to it. It was still crisp even after half an hour of being served. I've yet to see any other Vietnamese restaurant in Brisbane execute this technical dish so well. We had dinner there last time on a Friday night, but despite that there were only a handful of people there. Which just didn't make sense to me considering that the food was so good here. So, I'm going out of my way to promote this place and I hope you come and give this place go and help support it. I wouldn't want a nice place with nice food like this to go down simply because of location or lack of advertising. The only couple minor complaints I have is that some of the dishes might be a bit too salty like soup broth and also the portion sizes might be a bit too large and that a lot of people especially people with lower appetites would just end up throwing away most of their meal. But, at least you'll know you'll be hungry afterwards :)

I was always…read moreconvinced I would hate pho, but when I first arrived in Australia this place was one of the first restaurants some family members wanted me to try. I can officially say I'm a pho addict now. I love pho and I love my pho bar. I've dined in on both weekends and weekdays and have never had a bad experience. It is modern and clean, nice and airy as well. Always start with the spring rolls, they're always stuffed with flavour and perfect to snack on while waiting for your main. My favourite pho bowl is the "my spicy", the chicken and beef is always perfectly tender and the broth is to die for. It's not actually very spicy, so I take full advantage of the serve yourself chilli bar and add some heat to my bowl. The service can sometimes be a little slow but it's very rare to see more than one waitress at a time so I understand, and it's always worth the wait. There's a "Super Bowl challenge" which I have yet to attempt, check out the pictures on the wall of all the challengers, you'd have to make sure your stomach has been empty for days to beat this one!

And here, for $12 you can get a generous serving of it, with your choice of up to 3 toppings. The owners have just opened recently in the little shopping centre off Kooringal Drive right next to my favourite Sushi 79 and they are making a killing of it. No more do we have to drive all the way to Darra for our noodle soup, no more do we need to wipe the tables clean ourselves... no more do we have to ask dodgy or not dodgy? These guys are the real deal. They charge 3 dollars more than the places in Darra, but they bring you the cuisine with fresh ingredients, a clean atmosphere and elegant cutlery and bowls. These guys have put some thought into revamping the daggy noodle shop in the suburbs and on a Friday night the place is pretty busy. They are also the home of the SUPER BOWL CHALLENGE worth $35. Equalling 4 servings of the normal bowl of noodle soup, should you finish it in the hour, you get it for free, and your picture and name on the board of fame. Many have tried (2 women even) and none have succeeded so far... but give it time because the place has only been open for less than a few months. You need to call ahead to tell them if you're planning on taking the challenge but it's very exciting when someone does, they get an introduction with a microphone and everyone looks. It's a pretty big bowl too so it's not for the faint hearted. What a great little place, the western suburbs are looking up and putting themselves on the map with cuisine like this. Awesome Pho. Open 7 Days!

Firstly, you know its genuine Vietnamese cooking because it's located in Darra - suburb of all things Vietnamese. Secondly, try their signature chilli crab which I guarantee will silence all sceptics. Just don't wear your best clothes, be prepared to get your hands dirty and leave your table manners at home. This is a dish that you have to suck, slurp and bite through to savour every last morsel. If you're not after extravagant seafood, their pho noodles, vermicelli salads and do-it-yourself hand rolls are equally tasty. In fact, we have a rule whenever we dine here to try at least one new dish and we've never yet been disappointed. Take a look at my uploaded photos saved over many meals at Que Huong but be warned. Photos can cause irrational behaviour due to hunger pains. The restaurant is pretty large with two levels but it can get crowded on the weekends so make sure you book ahead of time.
