This review is long overdue for work we had done in October. We needed a contractor to turn a large…read morebedroom into 2 smaller bedrooms for our kids. We needed framing, sheetrock, electrical, trim and closets built. Joe was way more responsive than all other contractors and was very reasonable with costs. The price was exactly what he quoted us. (Another contractor was supposed to start before we found Joe and completely ghosted us around the start date.) Lou was the main guy who was here several days and he was great. We felt totally comfortable with him in our home. Our 4 year old son kept asking where Lou was after the project was completed. Lou worked around us when it came to hours that worked best for our family. Our kids love their bedrooms. And our 4 year old son finally sleeps in his own bed. We will be calling Joe when we are ready to remodel our kitchen and bathrooms.

DISASTER. Turn and run. We hired Joe for a large 203K project. We had problems from the very…read morebeginning: he was slow to start, kept changing his mind about the game plan, complained about the fact that he could get no money up front--terms of the 203K that he had of course agreed to--and pressured us to give him significant up-front money to "help him start". He instructed me in June of 2024 to rush to buy materials for a small bathroom that was still mostly unfinished in April of 2025; that kind of thing happened multiple times. His workers were inadequately supervised, and he was difficult to reach, often saying things like I'm at a kid's soccer game, out to dinner with my daughter, etc. The way that 203K's work is that HUD inspectors come out at regular intervals to make sure that adequate work has been done to make a draw from the total budget. Joe did a bunch of stuff merely to look busy to justify the first draw, in August: a slap-dash exterior paint job over crumbling paint that made a mess and did not hold, for instance. Between the first and the second draw, there was slow but meaningful progress--but by then we were 5 months into a job that we were told would take 4-6 months, and nowhere near done. During much of that 3-month interval he had just one guy working on our huge project, an electrician. After the second draw, in late November, he basically just stopped working on the house. We were making double housing payments the whole time, of course, so we panicked. We were almost out of money. After numerous calls and messages failed to get him to pick up the pace, at the urging of our lender, we scheduled a third draw, 3 months after the second one. At that draw, the HUD inspector certified that no work had been done, so no funds would be paid out. That's when we finally worked up the nerve to fire him. It was terrifying, because our lender told us that we would have trouble getting anyone to take on such a large project with only what was left in the budget after Joe depleted it. By the grace of God, we did find one. He swept in and got the job done in about 4 months. We finally moved in almost exactly one year after closing. Of course we had two mortgage payments the whole time. The work could have been finished within 6 months, or close to it, if we had found a great contractor like the one we found after we fired Mr. Depiano. Working with Mr. Depiano was harrowing. We were newbs at this, and therefore easy to fool. DON'T MAKE OUR MISTAKE.

Given John's response I have to write a review update. I have already laid out what our experience…read morewas with him, the subsequent issues of that work, and what other contractors have told us since we have had others in to actually resolve the core/root problem we were having and feel it's no longer productive to belabor this aspect. However, the true issue here is the picture John has decided to paint of us, which is the reason why I have chosen to write this update just for further context for others considering working with him. To clarify what John describes as "nightmare" behavior. As he says we did not reside at the residence yet so obviously someone had to let him in to do the work. I'm not sure why he believes we were not on time- that's how we knew he was always late sometimes to the point of having to reschedule because we would be waiting for him at the house first. I do not know what difficulty he is describing contacting us and getting into the house when we have frequent text messages and outreach confirming our meeting times with him. Additionally the "late" payment he is referring to occurred over the 4th of July holiday weekend in which he gave us no exact time estimate when he'd be done; we were out with friends and not checking our phones but he messaged us at 5:45PM and we paid at 8:26PM, the very same day with apologies of the inconvience caused by the few hours delay when we had a spare moment to send payment while out. I'm happy he's brought up our text conversations as that is at least one thing I am very much in agreement with. We were nothing short of respectful and cordial in our exchanges with him and thanked him for coming out to do the work repeatedly and I would also gladly show anyone the conversation history and very much stand by the courtesy and understanding we treated him with when he asked for schedule flexibility in arrival times and more. Minus the 4th of July message delay because of us being out of town, we were prompt with responses as well which our texts would show. We also initially reached out privately via email first to try to resolve this directly with John before writing this review. It's one thing for business owner and client to disagree on an experience however I strongly feel the way John painted us as clients is highly inaccurate and upsetting.

He corrected a botched job (done by another untrustworthy contractor) and did so with such finesse that you'd never even notice where he made his repairs. He completed our job in a timely fashion and arrived whenever he said he would. His prices were competitive and reasonable. Overall, we had such a great experience with Steve at Elite, we cannot recommend them enough. If you're looking for a good contractor, you've found it here. Thanks so much, Steve!

Steve and his company was referred to me by a friend and I could not be more satisfied with his…read moresuperb service. He went above and beyond what was expected from a roofing company. Steve coated and repaired my roof in Aug 2017 and approximately 1 month later I found water in my basement. After I did an exhausting search for the source of the leak and Steve coming to assess his work (which was still in excellent condition), through our discussion he suggested other potential causes and how to investigate them. Ultimately, I found that the source of my basement water was a leaky toilet next door. His suggestions and guidance really made the difference! Overall, his professionalism, timeliness in responding to emails, ease of payment, pricing, and of course his work are all top notch. I especially appreciate how he walked me through the process of getting my roof done (as a physician, I knew little about) and supplemented with before/after photos. Highly recommend!

Ask them up front for licensing, insurance and if they are registered as electricians, plumbers, etc. The man who says that he is in charge is operating under the identity of another man listed as the business owner. They have different phone numbers and if you catch him off guard he will tell you his real name is either Lewis when his name is William :/ This young man sent out guys to my property that had no idea what they were doing. They tampered with both my electrical and plumbing and I had to have the work assessed by a professional and take pictures and make records of everything for legal reasons. It is very possible that many of these yelp reviews are from family and friends or paid third party. Be very careful who you let in your home. ALWAYS ask for their detailed paperwork and match it up with their driver's license if you have to. Whatever it takes because there is A LOT of fraud out here nowadays. Absolutely would hire him again. Just a terrific experience.

We hired KMC Construction (Kyle) for our bathroom remodeling project after speaking with several…read moreother contractors. KMC's quote was reasonable, but what set them apart from the very beginning was Kyle's superb attention to details. His project description was unparallel...from how he would cover the floor, to the specific brand/type of grout he would use, to the exact type of fittings he'd install behind the shower...talking about being meticulous. Others would just give a two-liner description and a ridiculously higher quote. I have hired many contractors for different types of projects for the house, but I NEVER came across someone who is a caring person like Kyle. Get this, he noticed a flat tire on my wife's SUV. I was going to call AAA, but before I could blink he drove out of the driveway, went to the local automotive store, bought a flat tire repair kit and fixed the flat tire! What contractor would do that? As for his craftsmanship, Kyle is a true example of a perfectionist. I am not exaggerating, each step of the project from demolition of a 4" thick concrete wet bed, to framing the walls and the niches, to tiling/grouting, to painting the wall/ceiling/trims...he did everything painstakingly. He was very helpful, understanding, cooperating and again CARING person whom anybody should hire without a hesitation. He truly goes far and beyond. He not only works around your budget, but also throws in freebies (and they are not cheap freebies, they are more involved work, like moving the floor plumbing system for the vanity to behind the wall, or installing additional stuff like the vanity lights, medicine cabinets, etc. etc.) to make your bathroom completely transformed into something that you could ever imagine of. He worked straight through weekends, stayed late hours, and made absolutely 100% sure that everything was done correctly, and beautifully right from the beginning. Bottomline is this: if you want just a contractor to do your job there are plenty of them in the market. But if you want a truly caring craftsman to do the job and treat your home as his own, Kyle at KMC Construction is DEFINITELY your guy. He does not rush, or cut corners to get the job done quicker...that's not Kyle's style. For example, one of the features of our brand new Moen shower head was not functioning, for which Moen sent us a new replacement. Kyle offered to drive all the way (over 30 miles) to our house just to install it for us. I never heard of any contractors offering this kind of a service. Will we hire Kyle for future projects? You bet we will. And I would even go out and offer my email address (ghosh.asim@gmail.com, put "Kyle/KMC" in the subject line) if you need further information or references. Trust me, you won't go wrong hiring Kyle. In fact, you might get hooked to his fine craftsmanship and honest pricing that you would end up having him do other projects in your house.
