Along with a coffee and a grandmother's-recipe corn muffin, it re-orients us to this unique place and immerses us in the community in a meaningful way. Its news is very focused on the local but also reports on more global stories of universal significance or state-side impact. Theres always something eye-opening and informative or just plain personal and interesting. I pick up the grass-roots paper whenever I travel, to support independent journalism as routinely as possible, and this is an excellent example of solid reporting of audience-relevant stories.

Some kind soul left behind their read copy of the BGN in Darby's Belfast and so we opted to read…read morethe newspaper instead of browse on our phones. It was a good decision. Firstly, the Bangor Daily News has a comics section. This makes me happy. I love the comics. It's the best part of the paper. Secondly, there's a lot of local news. Local sports, local health, all sorts of Maine goings on and national news too. I enjoyed it very much. The newspaper is a family owned business and is now in its fourth generation of ownership. Founded in 1889 by the great-grandfather of the current publisher. Easy to read and no ink on my fingers. I'm a fan! [Review 14850 overall, 352 of 2021, number 36 in Maine.]

It's the kind of wild esoterica shop that you don't see around much, selling everything from coyote skulls to cheeky postcards. I also want to mention that the proprietors told us to be sure to check out Mexicali Blues (a similar shop a block down) and the cashiers at Mexicali Blues told us to be sure to stop by Rock & Art. So clearly they are good neighbors as well!

There is a ton of selection and the prices beat out any other vinyl store in the area. The couple of negative reviews I read are obviously people with an agenda... this store is fantastic, well priced and well stocked. I work in customer service and know exactly the type who left those negative reviews. They have a bone to pick; take their words with a grain of salt. I travel an hour and half to get to this store. It is worth your visit. Edited to add: check out the other reviews by the people who leave the negative ones before you go believing them. If almost all their reviews are bad then MAYBE they are just jerks looking to put someone else down.
