This place on the main boulevard leading to the sea and Roman ruins is well situated. The restaurant is clean the service excellent. The food is also excellent. The name of the restaurant refers to large barrels used for making microbrew beer.

The map on Yelp shows the 'Blue Bar' at Peniscola Castle, behind the Maritime Museum, which always has the beer but opens when they feel like it. Last time I visited it was closed but a guy walking past had the keys and opened up for us! Hooray. The main bar and brewery was in the centre of Peniscola. The bar is currently closed and due to open in March 2023 so I'm told. The brewery has now relocated out of town and can be seen from the AP7. Their flagship beer is IPA 7.2%. They do a stout about 6.0%. Their lager is called Lola, at 4.8%, and everyone seems to like that one. They also do speciality beers:- Rice, Eco, Pilsner, Wheat, Artichoke and others.
