Great find in St Kilda close to where we were staying. Had breakfast here a couple of days and enjoyed. With seating in and outside and an open fire inside added a great touch. It is reasonably small and both days we were lucky enough to get a seat but it was busy. The coffee here was amazing!! The breakfast was good too and a reasonable range and a good price. We had zucchini fritters which were yum! The staff were very friendly and happy. There were plenty of staff too so service was quick and smooth.

This had to be one of the best small joints with Happy Hour that I was able to visit on my trip. Pizza and beer were $7 and $3.50 respectively, which was a steal for how tasty everything was. I had the Paper Bag Carbonara and Morrocan Spiced Lamb Pizza which were killer delicious. My only regret was that I didn't have enough room I to try the Saganaki pizza. Mondays and Tuesdays offer the longest periods for Happy Hour which is an insane value. If I had lived in the area this might be one of the kick it spots.

Here we have the BLT which is so tasty and with rocket it gives it a very distinct add on flavor which is great.

The Banff is one of my favourite places to go any day of the week for a good catch up with friends. Weather it be a Sunday breakfast of freshly baked banana bread and a glass of one of the best soy latte's around, or for after work drinks to enjoy the happy hour specials with a $2 beer and a tasty pizza. The Banff is lovely and warm inside there is an open fire place to keep you toasty during the colder months and outdoor seating so you can get your dose of vitamin D during Summer. Happy hour at the Banff cannot be beaten, they offer $2 pots, $8 jugs and $3 glasses of wine everyday between 3pm and 6pm, you will often find the cosy little cafe full to the brim with joyous customers drinking and chatting during the late afternoon. The pizza's at Banff are terrific but my favourite meal is the homemade pasta dishes, my favourite is the Spaghetti with roasted garlic prawns, peas & mint, they serve the pasta wrapped up in paper almost like fish and chips giving it a really authentic and homemade feel. The prices at Banff are great with most of their dishes under about $10 it really is a fantastic food and drink option in St Kidla.

Delicious food, friendly staff, Sunday acoustic session. Great little place for a catch up with the girls. Perfect for winter dinners - it even has a fire in the fireplace. Super cosy!

Cheap and cheery. A great place to wonder down to for a casual dinner with friends. Love their Korean BBQ beef pizza!

Disappointed.. Ordered pizza and nachos for take out while staying in a hotel down the road.. Worst excuse for nachos I've ever seen. Over cooked, dry, cheese was hardened like plastic and the guacamole was disgusting. Pizza was small and over priced. Skip this place.

I did that on one of those beautiful sunny days that never end, and found myself on Fitzroy Street next to Albert Park.

If I were basing this review on the quality of the pizza alone, it would be getting 5 stars. This…read moreis thin Neapolitan style pizza - the base perfectly made, thin, and with a slight lick of flame from the wood fired oven. The toppings? Great. The Zucca (pumpkin, ricotta, caramelised leeks and fresh oregano) got the thumbs up all round, while the Salumi (tomato, fior de latte, salumi, roasted capsicum, onion jam) came a close second in being named favourite for the night. Value wise, it's excellent. A group of 8 of us tried to defeat 5 large pizzas after a "comfit" (urgh, can't stand a menu typo!) garlic focaccia and two salads (spinach, pea, mint with lemon dressing) and sadly had to leave a few slices as we were just too full. A large pizza is $18 and for this quality I think it an absolute bargain. Next time I'll be grabbing a take away as this really isn't a place to "dine" as the service just isn't up to scratch. Being told that the pizzas only took 2 minutes by one staff member and then being told by another that there would be a wait was confusing. We ended up waiting over 45 minutes for some pizzas and while we were more than happy to drink wine and chat, it just didn't seem like they had it together. One pizza was delivered with a hole in the middle (a casualty of the oven) and we were told another would be sent to replace it. It never arrived and the half mangled one was still on the bill at the end. Luckily we're easy going people but I can see that this would really irk some customers. Needing to ask a few times for water, water glasses, napkins and plates and then being asked how many we'd like (umm, there's 8 of us?) made the lack of experience here very obvious. It's sad, because I like this place. I love their food, I like the relaxed vibe and the un-fussiness of eating a few good pizzas on big tables in what is essentially a shopping arcade. I really want to adopt this place, help them smooth out the kinks and see them succeed at being a kick-arse local pizza spot.

We are currently doing a mini tour of all pizza places in our area and Portone is definitely the…read morebest I've had so far! Thin, italian style bases, high quality ingredients and a mix of traditional and creative, unusual toppings these pizzas are a winner. We had a bufalina margarita and a zucca (leeks, pumpkin and feta). Both, despite being too extremes, were excellent. Margarita had a gorgeous cheese, balanced carefully with the tomato sauce. I was dubious about the flavours on the zucca, but the leeks were soft and worked beautifully with the pumpkin and feta - the cheese again being the hero. At over $20 each the pizzas certainly aren't the most affordable but the quality makes it worth it. I could have taken them apart and eaten every ingredient on their own and still loved them! .

Have you figured out I'm a fan of almost all cafes, bars and restaurants in St Kilda?…read more I think its because most of these venues realise the value and importance of superior customer service and scrumptious food to keep people coming back, usually put together with great, live entertainment. Renix is one of these places. I'm so happy I stopped bypassing it on my way to Greasy Joe's and decided to give it a go one day. Serving traditional, Italian wood fired oven pizza's and pasta. It's not a massive menu with a lot of variety, but what they do they do perfectly! Oh - and they deliver!! I've been back a zillion times since my first try and I can recommend just about anything and everything on the menu. If I had to narrow it down to a few faves they would be; the charcoal chicken gourmet pizza, the Renix special tradish pizza and the Agnolotti pumpkin pasta. The difference a wood fired oven and the best, freshest produce makes is definitely noticeable here. With a wine and beer menu, and different offerings of vodka, as well as live entertainment on weekends, Renix is definitely my most favourite and authentic Italian restaurant in all of Melbourne! (Hang on, wait, I haven't reviewed any Lygon restaurant's yet so I may have to eat my words in future!!)

Woodfired pizza to perfection. Friendly casual atmosphere…read more For a quick easy meal they are surprisingly above average in quality and authentic Napoli style pizza. Definitely on our regular list now.
