The common area with snacks could have been nice but that was not clean. Needless to say we were very disappointed and felt they misrepresented themselves.

There are several structures throughout the BNB, we stayed in the Pond House in the Fats Hollow Room. The room had a beautiful view of the fountain and the pond, there is even a little row boat! The large king sized bed was super comfortable and the décor in shades of blue was very soothing. The owners are incredibly hospitable to their guests and made us feel so welcome. The check in area also serves as the "dining room" for the incredible breakfast served daily. I loved the snacks, coffee and soft drinks that are available. Breakfast was a TREAT! Homemade cinnamon rolls, crunchy fresh granola and Greek yogurt then a hearty spread of delicious sausage links, thick sourdough toast, fresh fruit (cut into delightful shapes) and a brown butter omelet. So satisfying and fresh. We raved about it for a bit! (The fresh preserves were a hit also) The location is so convenient to Longwood (which we visited), wineries and restaurants. Literally perfect. Lance and Sandy, thank you for your incredible hospitality, you truly made us feel so welcome and we'd love to return someday.

I don't believe there is a bad one to be had here at the Inn, though the suites offer a tad more luxury. Your charming innkeepers are eager to please creating foods to delight the eyes and palate. Everything at Whitewing Farm is welcoming, personal and designed for ultimate in comfort. You will feel like royalty and leave refreshed. The sprawling grounds contain a pond, gazebo, tennis courts and a pool. The Haybarn is a common area that hosts a seating area with fireplace, library and wine cellar. Beautiful florals and lush greens rapture your soul as the quiet surroundings engulf you luring you away from the technology and chaos of daily life. My experience at Whitewing could not have been better, unless of course I could have stayed a few more nights and escape the reality of my life. Five full stars all the way.

We stayed in a 3 room suite, it was very clean and nice and big! We had a large bedroom, sitting area, and bathroom. The view looked over the peaceful backyard filled with many trees and a koi pond. John (owner) prepared breakfast each morning (one morning- pineapple and coconut bread along with a quiche and roasted asparagus, the next was an egg and veggie souffle with ham) all served alongside fresh fruit (blackberries, kiwi, cantalope, honeydew, peaches) and fresh coffee, OJ and tea. The other guests were also very pleasant and fun to talk to at breakfast. John (owner) was very knowledgeable about the area's history and suggested things to do. The price is very reasonable for this bed and breakfast and it felt as if we were staying at a friend's house!

Husband booked us the bedroom with two twin beds and it was a experience of wicker, flowered bedspreads and bunnies who may have seen too much. To be fair, it was reminiscent of my Grandmother's bedroom when I was a kid but we thought it was fun and rolled with it. Breakfast was wonderful and inclusive of so many things - the grilled pineapple was fantastic. Despite only staying one night, Chip invited us to return during the next day if we needed anything - it kinda felt like we were staying with family. The entire house is stunning, inside and out. I was lucky enough to stay in one of the most recently renovated rooms, a jungle themed paradise. The room was pristine. The decor is gorgeous. Upon walking inside, there was calming safari music playing on the TV. I felt like I was in heaven. The location is unbeatable, especially for history buffs. The house is across the street from the New Castle Court House Museum, one of six sites that comprise First State National Historic Park. And it's wonderfully quiet area. I was relaxed and at ease the entire time. I would 100% stay here again, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a peaceful getaway!

When we arrived at the circular drive to the 1860's Darlington Mansion our hopes increased. Innkeeper, Lori, met us at the door and toured us through the three stories of this well preserved and restored mansion. Inside we found a gorgeous home, well appointed with period pieces. Lori showed us all the rooms before taking us to the Percy Suite, an elegant area with a sitting room, walk-in closet, and gas fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and several windows made the spacious room feel even warmer. We travel often and have stayed in dozens of B and B's. We've learned the innkeeper can make or break your stay. Lori is a gem. She makes you feel welcome in all the common spaces and around the grounds, has a small frig for your cold items, and even offers a variety of wines for your enjoyment. We had a glass of Mondavi Cab. Quite nice. Each room has a guest notebook covering Lori's great 8 restaurants and area sights to see. Thoughtful and well done. We opted for her top choice, Vudu's Cajun Cuisine and had a great meal. In the morning she puts out coffee and tea at 7:30 am then serves up a mean breakfast at nine. We skipped lunch that day; we were so full. If you are in the West Chester area and love a romantic getaway, this place is a must. Lori also does wedding venues and business stays. Built in the 1860s and beautifully restored, the hotel is beautiful. Formerly Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast, it's now a book-themed hotel, with seven rooms filled with books you can read during your stay. We stayed in Jane's Room - a room inspired by Jane Austen. Not only was the room gorgeous (complete with a great selection of books, picture of Jane above the bed, and a bed draped with red velvet), the bathroom was gorgeous, too. And the room had all the amenities: electric tea kettle, coffeemaker, towels, slippers, and more. They also have a very nice main level with space for reading or sitting by the fire. Just a beautiful building. The hotel is self-check-in style. They text you the day of your stay with the code for the front door and the combination for the lockbox for the key to your room. It didn't take away from the lovely stay. It snowed overnight during our stay, so we woke up to an even more charming hotel. That added to an already wonderful stay. If you're a reader or even if you're not, you can have a great hotel stay at this unique and charming hotel.

However, their new shareable menu is anything but shareable!! Roasted carrots, asparagus, and tomato salad aren't exactly sharing friendly. We miss the large charcuterie board they used to have, the hummus platter, and the artichoke dip. Wonderful to share with a bottle of wine or two. Please bring back the old tasting menu, it was perfect!
