Poor customer service! My 85 year old grandmother was there last week and had a terrible experience…read morewith the manager on duty! The manager told my grandmother to fill out her check, and when my grandmother told her that the other stores didn't make her do it, she said, "I don't care what the other stores do." Then she asked the cashier nearby if she had ever made my grandmother fill out a check. The sweet, honest girl said no, she hadn't. The manager then said, "As soon as I'm done here you are getting a write up." That poor employee! Then she looked at my grandmother and said, "She will be getting written up," as if to reassure to my grandmother that her employee would be getting in trouble because of her!! How unprofessional!!!! She was beyond rude and did not treat my elderly grandmother with respect. Her behavior was so disgusting that my grandmother was shaking when she left. She refuses to go back to this dollar general! I suggest you get rid of this extremely rude manager and hire one that doesn't treat their staff and customers terribly! It is not a healthy or pleasant environment to work or shop in.

I'm an Aldi convert and think if you haven't tried it yet and you're looking to save money in your…read moreweekly grocery bill, you should be too. A couple of hacks and go-to tricks I really recommend: 1. The chocolate at Aldi is spectacular. I assume this is because it's a German company, but whatever the reason, the price point and quality of chocolate is excellent. 2. Seafood prices: Aldi's frozen seafood is really, really quality. And they very often have wild gulf shrimp and northwest-sourced jumbo scallops, both well below market price if you bought them at the seafood counter at a Publix. The fresh stuff in the meat section is a little less easy to pinpoint, but still in terms of price and quality very good. 3. They carry Dave's Killer Bread. It's Dave. It's killer. I recommend the "good seed" thin sliced. Excellent. 4. The cheese selection is as good as the Fresh Market and much lower in terms of price point. 5. Keep an eye out for the "family saver" packs in the meat section. Sometimes you can get 5-6 pounds of chicken thighs for under $10 6. They have a $3 Sauvignon Blanc that's as dry as the Gobi desert. Might as well get two! 7. Eggs. Best prices in town. I recommend the golden hen cage free at around $3.50. Regular eggs even cheaper. 8. Finally, don't sleep on the baking goods aisle. Price points for flour, sugar, and baking chocolate are really good, and the products, while not name brand, are superior in quality. Aldi is where I get all my weekly fundamentals. If you haven't tried it yet, I can't recommend it enough.

Later tried to cancel with the man and he said it was broken when I got my Kroger bill. They had billed me $55 for gas and one of his friends/customers had come up and stolen the $55. And filled up at my expense. Kroger's gas will cheat you.

First off, I love Kroger. I have always been a huge fan of Kroger especially Starkville Kroger. I…read morehave no idea what is going on with this location, but I am so very disappointed. Over the past three months, I have consistently experienced problems that make shopping here frustrating and unsatisfactory. * Pickup delays: On multiple occasions, my scheduled pickup orders have not been ready until the following day. This is a problem because I live an hour away! It is frustrating to make it half way to the store only to receive an automated text stating my order will not be ready until the next day! Gas is not cheap, and I am a poor teacher. I mean seriously, just turn off the pickup times once you reach your limit for that time slot! * Missing items: Once, I drove all the way home only to discover that 20 items were missing from my order. No one offered an apology or resolution beyond a simple refund. Yet again, I live an hour away. Customer service suggested "Oh it's sitting right here. Just come back and get it." They truly acted as if it were my fault that the items were left out and I was inconveniencing them. (My bad. I guess I should have counted each individual item as we loaded them into my trunk-yes. WE. I always get out and help! * Poor product quality: The fresh produce I receive is often moldy or spoiled, which is unacceptable. Not once. Not twice. But every single time I order strawberries they are covered in fuzzy mold. * Customer service: The pickup employees are frequently rude and unhelpful, which only adds to the frustration. I have been a loyal Kroger customer because of the convenience and quality I've come to expect. Unfortunately, this location is falling far below that standard. I am asking that Kroger address these issues promptly and take steps to improve the pickup service, product quality, and customer service at the Starkville store. I hope to continue shopping with Kroger, but unless these problems are resolved, I will be forced to take my business elsewhere.
