Legendary. Easily the most inclusive place on the planet. As an added bonus, most ppl there are really hot.

I have cared for, fed DAILY, called BARCS for medical attention and most important, I have received unconditional theory from the cats that have resided on Ridgewood long before I moved there. On May 8th what I was informed to be a gathering of all cats in need of neuturing. I was appreciative seeing as there are 7 to 10 to see after and a pregnancy is unwanted. On the 10th I came outside to find that the program owners brother had arranged for a group of civilians to gather all the block cats to capture and remove them all. After insisting for my personal cat, Pre-pre, be removed from the cage I asked what was going on. I was told by the above mention person that "if i could keep the cats off his side of street then I could keep the cats." No One appointed anyone decision maker of I would like all readers to know that, 1. Pre-pre lived in the first sober house from 2021-2024 2. The above mentioned helped me feed cats numerous times 3. No complaint has ever come via agency or resident 4. I had all male cats (6 in total) spade and 1 of the 2 female cats neutered 5. I was known for having the fattest cats in the 21215 6. i was never given information as to where the cats were taken 7. Seeing that a state or city agency was not the ones to remove cats then an act of theft was consciously made by all civilian and NVHH employees involved. 8. Ridgewood has a Zero rat or rodent issue as a result of the block cats 9. Only one cat resided daily on one of their porches and I never heard of a complaint from a house member. As a person who has had many periods of sobriety and unfortunate relapses, I cherish the unconditional love and presence of the cats as many like me do. This was a selfish and unwarranted act and it contradicts the very integrity that this program wants to be known to uphold. No apology can undo what they have done to my hope in persons claiming recovery and my immediate vacancy of my beloved cats. I believe all who seek help should consider twice before choosing THIS agency that uphold's what ever doesn't suit them is EXPENDABLE. Mental Health therapy is key to a solid foundation of sobriety and animal therapy is widely practiced throughout treatment. How selfish for them to decide that the cats didn't add to a persons serenity.

They earned their deplorable reputation, the city of Baltimore. They put me in the slumps. I grew up in New England's Mr. Roger's neighborhood. They said they had the house treated for bed bugs they didn't. I had to sit up in a chair overnight my legs were swollen from not lying down. They had mice, rats and roaches. They are just there to draw a pay check. Houses were dilapidated drug infested the police would not go up there. I wouldn't recommend it to a DOG! They said I was not a veteran just to not serve me. I made sure my veteran's benefit card was mailed to their office and picked it up. They make more money off of vets that were substance abusers than me. They said that I could be on the substance abuse program. They said at lease I would have a roof over my head. I have NEVER tried weed. They will have to answer to Karma it's real.

A nice young man shows up telling me how he's trying to get a $2000 scholarship Virginia Tech and a trip to Hershey by raising money for the organization. He is $40 short. Being as magnanimous and shortsighted as I am, I paypalled him $40. Immediately afterwards, he sells the same story to all of my neighbors. After some research, turns out the other 1-star reviews on here are correct. The organization, despite having a nonprofit status, was created by someone found guilty of child endangerment. The donation was for a CHANCE to WIN the scholarship, and not a direct donation to the kid in any way. Some quick research will confirm other ways this organization has used kids for financial gain. Anyway, trying to go through paypal to get a refund for the principle of the thing. If you got here while researching this org, then the bad news is you got scammed. The good news is it's probably not for very much and you should stop giving money to canvassers. Cheers!

Just had two teenagers identifying themselves as representing the Maryland Youth Club knock on my…read moredoor, selling obviously-overpriced snack items, but that's understandable if it's a fundraiser, right? My first instinct was buy something, despite the prices, because who doesn't like supporting youth organizations? But, I legitimately didn't have any cash (I rarely carry cash), and I don't use checks, so I asked them for a web address where I could make an online donation. They gave me a small flyer with a web address at the bottom. The website looks legit at first glance, but starts to look suspicious when you click around a bit (the "About Us" page -- arguably the most important part of any nonprofit's web page -- is suspiciously empty). A bit of google-fu reveals it's pretty obviously a scam. The kids are its victims. They're essentially being child-labor trafficked. It's particularly insidious, because even when you know the game, you're still forced to say "no" to kids you'd legitimately like to help. But putting money in the pockets of the adults exploiting them certainly won't help them. Anyway, I did a quick google search for legitimate youth organizations serving underprivileged kids in Maryland, and made a donation to one. I know that probably won't help the specific kids who knocked on my door this morning, but it's the best I can do. Another thought occurred to me after thinking about this incident a bit: Perhaps I could give the kids money directly. Not for a purchase or as a donation, but as a gift from me to them, not to be shared with whomever they're reporting to. But, I doubt that would work. Apparently they have quotas to meet, and they'd probably just put that money toward it. So it would still most likely end up in the pockets of the traffickers. I wish there was some way I could help the kids being victimized by the Maryland Youth Club, but I don't have any ideas. If anybody does, feel free to contact me via private message.
