Hi Deborah I have a direct message for you from Lisa. She said to tell you my dance lessons paid off. Deborah, we literally danced til dawn! With the help of two bottles of chardonnay, it was the best time in a long time for both of us. Thank You so very very much forever. I learned so much in such a short time. Please use this 5 star recommendation in any manner you see fit. (They need to invent a 6star category.) Arthur Carr read more

Deborah was a great teacher for our first dance at our wedding! My husband and I are not very experienced dancers but we learned multiple moves in just 3 short lessons to elevate our first dance. We got a great solid foundation in ballroom dancing and had multiple compliments on our routine! read more

We worked with Deborah to perform a choreographed dance for our wedding day. We completed a total of 6 lessons and then practiced on our own whenever we could. Deborah is very passionate about what she does and choreographed a beautiful dance for our wedding song. The lessons were very reasonably priced and she was very easy to work with! It is clear that she takes pride in her work and truly wanted to help us make our wedding day special. I would recommend her to anyone! read more

We cannot recommend Ballroom Bliss highly enough! Serge was our instructor and he was kind, patient, helpful, friendly, and overall a great teacher. We really enjoyed our entire experience, the lessons were fun, and he prepared us not only to complete the dance well but also learning the general ballroom techniques and how to prepare for making adjustments real-time on the day if needed. Thank you Serge, we had a great time!! read more

My now husband and I were looking to take a couple classes before our wedding to learn some basics and maybe put together a few moves for our first dance for our wedding. We found Ballroom Bliss and I could not recommend them more! We worked with Deborah and she is AMAZING! I was super nervous but she made the classes really easy to follow and fun. They are affordable too! It was sweet to work with someone that was so invested with our dance and knew exactly where we left off for the next lesson. Our dance turned out so great, all thanks to Deborah! Everyone was blown away that we actually looked like we knew what we were doing haha! But seriously 10/10- look no further, I would use Ballroom Bliss again in a heartbeat. read more

Deborah with Ballroom Bliss was fantastic! She was patient and supportive. She is a true expert and made us feel confident particularly as non-dancers. We learned so much from her. Strongly recommend to anyone. read more

We are so glad we decided to take lessons with Ballroom Bliss! We planned to take just one lesson to prepare for our wedding. By the end of the first lesson, we had some great moves to feel comfortable with our first dance. We ended up taking two more classes because we had so much fun! We were so impressed by how well Deborah learned our song, thought of creative moves, and had us feeling confident and excited. So much so that some of our guests even cried during our first dance because they were so touched! Deborah is simply wonderful to work with. The Ballroom Bliss team was very responsive. Lessons were convenient and easy to set up. We are excited to continue using our newly learned dance moves during nights out and highly recommend working with Ballroom Bliss! read more

Had a couple of private lessons with Deb for our wedding dance. Didn't want to just stand and sway, but was really nervous about the dance looking too cheesy. Deb definitely helped us work out our own style and get comfortable with the choreography and it was a huge hit. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I had a wonderful experience working with Deborah from Ballroom Bliss. We came to her with a tall ask- we chose 3 songs all in different genres for our fusion wedding. We asked her for a dance that incorporated ballroom, Bollywood pop, and hiphop. She choreographed a dance we both loved and we had 5 sessions with her to learn and perfect it. We had so much fun learning the dance and our sessions with Deborah were a welcome break from the rest of wedding planning. We'd highly recommend ballroom bliss to any Philly area couple. read more

This review is only 2 years late (sorry Deb!!) but we had to let everyone know how incredible Deb is. We went in for lessons about a month and a half before our wedding with a tricky song and very difficult schedule, plus 2 people who have never been able to dance in their lives. Deb worked with our hectic schedule, taught us everything we needed to know, and was so patient with us as she helped us choreograph our first dance. My husband has no rhythm whatsoever and she helped him figure out some tricks to lead us well. She charged us the rate for learning basic choreography/not choreographing the song for us, but she ended up doing it anyway and not increasing her rates. Deb is the best. People still comment on our first dance. Could not recommend her more highly!! read more

We enrolled in a set of five private dance lessons with Deb starting ~3 months before our wedding. My now husband and I are not dancers, and wanted to have some direction and confidence for our first dance. Not only did we feel great about our first dance on the day of our wedding, we had a lot of fun going to Deb's classes and practicing in between. The ballroom basics we learned will definitely be an asset for whenever we are on the dance floor. We highly recommend Ballroom Bliss and Deb to future couples! read more

My wedding was last night and i couldn't wait to leave this review. My husband and i did 3 lessons with Kira and it was beyond worth it. We did a short routine for our first dance, we felt so confident out there. Kira is an amazing teacher and choreographer. I am an experienced dancer and my husband has rhythm. She exceeded our expectations!!! read more

My now-husband and I took dance lessons with Deb for our first dance before our wedding and would highly recommend!! We did the choreography + 5 lesson package and it was the perfect amount to learn a cool dance that impressed our guests. The lessons themselves were also super fun and we loved learning a new skill! read more

We took 8 classes with Deborah in preparation for our first dance at our wedding and had the best time! Deborah is patient, fun and very talented. She adapted to the style and theme that we envisioned, created guidelines for us to follow, but gave us creative freedom. As we arrived as complete beginners, she taught us fundamentals, worked at our pace, and quickly filled our toolbox with new moves as we progressed. Not only did we feel confident and loose at our wedding, we now have the basic skills to be able to have fun at any scene where there is dance. Therefore, this investment outperformed our expectations. read more

We've contracted with Ballroom Bliss twice - once to take a series of private lessons just for fun, and once to help us with our wedding choreography! Kira was absolutely incredible. She was patient and kind, and she has a great sense of humor. I have a little bit of experience with dance, but my husband does not, and she did an outstanding job making us both feel comfortable. She also choreographed the perfect first dance for us. I would highly recommend anyone looking into dance in Philly check out this place and specifically this instructor! Forever grateful, we loved our experience here! read more

We are so glad to have connected to Deborah at Ballroom Bliss for dance lessons in prep for our wedding. She listened to what we wanted (a very simple informal looking dance) and made it happen. All while making us feel super relaxed and comfortable. The hour practices flew by! I think we ended up taking 4 lessons in total and we practiced a lot on our own. The Center City location and 9pm slot were really convenient for us. We got a good vibe from her from the first time we met her. I'm excited to get the video back and share it with her -- I hope we made her proud :) read more

Kira was an awesome dance instructor! We are novices and went to prep for our 1st dance at our wedding. We did the 8 course package + choreography and she was amazing. Highly recommend read more

We wanted every aspect of our wedding to be fun and unique and that included our "formal" dances! We hired Deborah from ballroom bliss to choreograph dances for both me and my husband and me and my dad, and wow was it worth it! All of our songs were more non-tradition-- here comes the sun for me and my dad, and Shaggy and Beyoncé songs for me and my husband. We did around 5 sessions each to learn basics steps and then perfect Deborah's amazing choreography. We had so much fun at our weekly lessons, and our guests were blown away by our dances. We also know some new moves we can use when we go to other weddings now too! I highly recommend working with Deborah on any of your dance and/or choreography needs! read more

Deb did a fantastic job choreographing a 3 song medley for us (Enchanted by Taylor Swift, Sugar by Maroon Five and Dance with me Tonight by Olly Murs). We knew it was going to to be challenging but she created a beautiful dance routine and was flexible with scheduling even when she was 8 months pregnant. Learning a dance is great practice before marriage. It takes time, effort, and a lot of patience. Check out our dance for a sample of what you can possibly do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKAAt7Wv0ng&feature=youtu.be read more

We had the best experience learning our first dance for our wedding with Kira. She was kind, knowledgable, and made the process fun. We are both novice dancers, but Kira made us feel comfortable during each of our lessons. Our first dance was beautiful and we got a lot of compliments. We highly recommend Ballroom Bliss! read more

Deborah was amazing. She choreographed two knockout dances for us, and helped us perfect them with great effort and care. I'm particularly not a good nor a happy dancer- but she managed to get me happy and excited to do all of it! She was thorough, managed to teach to both our levels (my wife is a far better dancer than I am) and did so with patience, grace, and ease. The cost of learning all of this was not terrible, and well worth every penny. read more

Deb helped us NAIL our first dance. My hub (then fiancé) wasn't convinced we needed lessons initially though I did. After the first lesson, we were intrigued by all the steps that we could learn and wanted to impress rather than sway and turn in circles like a middle school couple We did 8 hour lessons with Deb at her house and practiced a lot. She made our two left feet go in sync! She put us at ease and worked with our skill level. Dancing for us before the wedding was also great bonding time with each other- little date nights! I'd highly recommend spending extra time and funds to impress your guests, learn some skills, and bond as a couple together. read more

Deborah is the best!! Super friendly. She helped us prepare for our first dance. She was very patient with two people have no experience dancing! She's able to figure out the best way to teach us based on our learning styles. Would highly recommend her! read more

My now wife and I had our wedding fast approaching. We needed to learn some moves for our first dance to avoid looking like total noodles. Kira got us in shape in just two lessons! She showed us some basic steps to get our feet together and then taught us some flourishes to show off a little bit. She even taught my wife how to Charleston! Of course we had some practicing to do at home, but that comes with learning any new skill. Our first dance went great and made our wedding all the more magical. I would recommend Ballroom Bliss (and Kira especially) for any other clumsy nerds out there like us! read more

Kira was amazing to work with! Highly recommend.

We went to Deb with a difficult routine in mind, and she helped us rock our first dance! We couldn't have asked for a better choreographer. She even helped us fit in last minute sessions after the pandemic restrictions were lifted right before our wedding. She is very easy to work with no matter what your dance experience and will make you feel comfortable with your dancing skills prior to the big day. read more

We had the most amazing experience with Ballroom Bliss and cannot recommend them enough for learning ballroom dance. My fiancé and I were looking for a place to brush up on some dance moves for our wedding, coming in with very different dance experience- I was a dancer for years, and he felt awkward and self conscious and had a hard time on a dance floor. He and I had tried another local dance academy out and it felt a bit out of our price range, and just not necessarily the best fit. Luckily, we ended up reaching out to Deb and asking if she could recommend a package for my fiancé and I, along with my cousin and her partner (who are in our wedding but not getting married themselves). Deb was totally game, offered us the perfect (and affordable!) package of lessons, and set us up with Kira as our instructor. I can hardly express in words how much fun it was to take lessons with Kira. She made my fiancé feel more comfortable on his feet than he has felt in years, and she reminded me, fittingly to let him lead!! She was so constructive and so validating, and I could feel us improving by her teaching each lesson. I felt like she noticed our strengths and was so positive in helping us improve. She was so knowledgeable, patient, accessible, and amenable, and really encouraged us to trust each other, to switch partners, to dance with her, and to find our groove in the different styles. She matched us when we were goofy and added lots of lightness and laughter to the room, while bringing us back to our goals and helping us refine each style. We ended up learning Waltz, Rumba, and Swing, and I can't believe how excited my fiancé is to get on the dance floor later this month for our wedding. Kira and Deb are both fantastic teachers and I would beg any folks, engaged or not, to take advantage of any opportunity to learn from them! read more

Highly recommend!! My now husband and I worked with Veronica for many sessions. Our first dance song was "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran, and Veronica did an amazing job teaching us the moves. My husband wasn't so keen on us taking dance lessons for our first dance, but after the first lesson he was hooked! We had a lot of fun dancing together, and Veronica did a great job teaching us. When we had issues on how to do a certain dance move, she actually recorded a video of her dancing that routine, and that helped us out a lot. Super responsive, patient, professional, fun, and just a pleasure. Highly recommend!! read more

I researched a few of the big dance schools when looking for instruction for our wedding -- most didn't call or email me back and if they did, they offered a set series of classes, or expensive private lessons. Then I found Deb and Ballroom Blitz; she was flexible, reasonably priced and great to work with. My husband I wanted to do something different (fast dance to "Say Hey" by Michael Franti) so Deb taught us some salsa moves and we had fun learning and practicing the steps in her home studio. After just 4 lessons we were able to choreograph our own dance which wowed our guests. I highly recommend working with Deb -- As well as doing something out of the box -- to make your wedding special and memorable. read more

Deborah made learning how to dance easy, fun, and comfortable. We had a band playing at our wedding, so we didn't know exactly how our first song was going to sound. Deborah made sure we were prepared for however it sounded. She also made sure we had some extra dance moves for the rest of the night. We looked online at a few dance studios before choosing Ballroom Bliss and we could not be happier with our choice. Thanks for everything!! read more

We had a wonderful experience with Ballroom Bliss. Our instructor Deborah was phenomenal! For my son's wedding, we purchased a package of lessons and split them between the bride/groom and mother/son dances. None of us had much experience or confidence and Deborah helped us tremendously with both the basics and some fancier moves. She was patient, organized and a great teacher. We all enjoyed our time spent at Ballroom Bliss before the wedding. read more

Deborah with Ballroom Bliss was absolutely incredible! We tasked her with the difficult job of creating a combined first / parent dance for our wedding to an upbeat song - and we only had 5 weeks to learn it. She listened to our ideas, preferences and created the most amazing dance. Deborah flexed different parts of the dance to work with the skill level of each of us (bride, groom, father of the bride, mother of the groom) and we ended up with a fun dance that felt like us. It set the tone for our wedding and we had such a blast learning it with her. Thank you Deborah! Would highly recommend Ballroom Bliss to anyone looking for dance lessons or prepping for a wedding! read more

Our experience with Ballroom Bliss was wonderful. I first reached out to Deborah about ten months before our wedding after reading many positive reviews. My fiancé and I were unsure about how to approach our first dance. We didn't want something really stiff or overly choreographed, but didn't want to just "wing it" the day of either. Deborah promptly provided helpful information about their locations, lessons, and pricing. We then put our first dance on the back burner for months and finally decided to take lessons about six weeks before our wedding. This is not to recommend our procrastination, but with the expert teaching of Deborah and Kira, we felt wonderful and confident going into our first dance. Deborah helped us get the basics down and then because of some scheduling crunches, Kira stepped in and helped us finesse our moves. The lessons were really enjoyable and both Deborah and Kira were excellent teachers--supportive, patient, creative and fun. They gave us the tools to practice on our own at home and come to the next lesson ready to continue learning. On the day of our wedding, felt like we nailed our dance and were so happy! We received glowing praise from our guests and there were lots of cheers throughout. One couple who had seriously ballroom danced before said our foxtrot looked much better than the "standard four lessons with a few basic moves" dance. Must have been that fifth lesson! I would highly recommend Ballroom Bliss to any couple looking to feel confident and comfortable being the center of attention at their wedding. read more

We could not be more thankful and happy that we chose to prepare for our wedding with Ballroom Bliss!! Kira and Deborah were beyond amazing! We did not want to do a 100% choreographed first dance, however, wanted something elegant and classy. They blew us away with making it perfect for us!! We learned the necessary steps and moves to make the dance our own! We would recommend Ballroom Bliss to all of our friends!! You won't regret it!! Thank you to Ballroom Bliss team for everything!! read more

The main reason we chose Ballroom Bliss was the flexible schedule. We usually had lessons at 9 PM and other studios would not accommodate our crazy schedules. Deborah was professional at all times, but very personable and friendly. Learning to dance was fun and easy. By the time we got to our first dance at our wedding, my husband and I were so comfortable with the steps that we forgot 200 pairs of eyes were on us. The prices were also much better than we found at other places. If we find time in our schedules, we may ask Deborah to teach us some more, just for fun. Use Ballroom Bliss for your wedding dance- or anything else! You won't be disappointed. read more

We really appreciated our experience here. I was very frustrated in searching for dance lessons with places who wouldn't give prices until we came in for a consultation and would also aggressively email. I heard about Ballroom Bliss through a friends recommendation and it was great from the start. The pricing is affordable (less than half the cost at the rittenhouse /headhouse square place), clear, and flexible depending on your needs, the instructor works with you where you're at and was so accommodating about availability and quick responses. read more

Took just a couple lessons from Kira for our first dance and my mother-son dance at our wedding, and it could not have gone better. Kira was patient and able to quickly teach us simple moves to accomplish what we wanted to do. She gave us a game plan to be ready for the wedding and made sure we had everything we needed to feel confident. If you need a crash course for some basic steps at any ability level, Kira and Deborah can make it happen and probably exceed all your expectations! read more

Kira taught two non-dancers how to look like we knew what we were doing on the dance floor at our wedding! She was so patient with us and came up with a great dance to our song. She was always so prepared for our lessons, coming with new ideas and moves to consider. We looked forward to our dance lessons so much...it was fun to dance together in prep for our wedding day and Kira made it so easy and fun!! Highly, highly recommend Ballroom Bliss and Kira specifically! read more

Deb is the best! My husband and I had a somewhat untraditional song for our first dance, but we're not very untraditional people - and neither of us are great at dancing. We also had a very limited time frame. In just three lessons (plus a free introductory meeting/lesson), Deb taught us an amazing dance that she choreographed just for the song. It was exactly what we were looking for - simple, elegant, romantic, unshowy, and unique. We were complimented on our dance so many times - our guests couldn't believe that we only had three short lessons! We had many experiences during our wedding where the end product was great, but the process was not. This was one of the few where every step of the way was amazing! Deb is so fun and patient. She was great with helping us schedule things around our busy and ever-changing schedules - she offers two convenient locations too, which makes that a lot easier. read more

My husband and I wanted to take dance lessons for our wedding, so I had looked into a few of the more "mainstream" dance studios. They all seemed very expensive. I had taken a class with Deb at her other business, Philly Dance Fitness, and she had mentioned that she has a ballroom dance company as well. She teaches in the basement of her house (sounds weird, but it's this amazing setup with a wooden dance floor, sound system, and mirrors are coming soon). My husband does not have a good sense of rhythm, so we were worried that 7 lessons wouldn't be enough. Amazingly, he got it! We were dancing! Deb is a great, patient instructor and her pricing is really affordable. My husband actually said he wants to keep dancing! Highly recommended. read more
