This was due in no small part to Adam Rubman, our phenomenal DJ! We had every age group present at the celebration and he was able to keep the music pumping across the decades! You name it, he played it! AND he did kareoke! I am not a stranger to many aspects of the entertainment industry as I have years of experience so I consider myself a pretty good judge. My wife has decades in the service industry as well. When we say: "Adam rocks as a DJ." Adam ROCKS! What. A. Blast. I…read moregot a chance to go to the Magic Mansion last year after I heard that there was a magic show happening at the Dr. Phillips House in Downtown Orlando right around Halloween. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a nut for Halloween events, and even more so when they're under $30 (I'm 'thrifty,' what can I say!), so I was first in line to get tickets. The house was set up in a really unique way - with magicians at stations around the bottom floor and the large backyard patio. As an attendee you were able to walk around freely and stop at the different stations as the magician was 'performing.' These magicians were certainly not amateurs! Many of them had traveled from around the country to perform at the event and they really put on good, unique shows! There was also food and alcohol available for purchase outside at very reasonable prices ($3-$6 average per small dish). I honestly had a terrific time. I remember thinking that it was a shame that I had gone on the final night that year because I would have wanted to bring some friends and go again the next night! It was just really nice to be able to suspend reality for a few hours, while in a wonderful historic home in the heart of Downtown, being entertained by some incredibly talented (and funny) fellas. I'll absolutely be going again this year!

This was our second year attending the Magic Mansion and it just keeps getting better. And I have…read morepretty high standards for my magic considering my love of Harry Potter and Magic: The Gathering game. (Kidding? I'll see myself out....) Anyway, I loved seeing some of the magicians I saw last year and seeing how more intricate their acts have gotten! I have yet to figure out how they do ANY of their tricks/illusions/magic/whatever it's called. Meraux (I hope I spelled that right) from New Orleans was a charmer as always, I think his name is Alex (he did tricks with red, foam balls last year) did some awesome card tricks, and Kostya killed it and got engaged on the last night (awww!), and there were some new ones that were funny and impressive! The best part was once they were about to close and the magicians are wrapping up, one tall redhead magician sat down with these two little kids to do a few tricks just for them. The impromptu side show was exactly what the entire night was about- skilled magicians who genuinely want to go above and beyond to give everyone a magical night. Can't wait for next year!

Great service and great products!…read more I had passed by Balloon World (BW is what the cool kids are calling it) many times as I'm a frequent Mills50 gal. I always wondered how such an oddly specific store like this could stay in business with all of the Party Cities and Targets of the world. Today I figured it out. I was at Party City, I'll admit, when I asked them if they had any gold or silver foul balloon letters (a'la 'Blurred Lines' video, but with no reference to Robin Thicke's ~ahem~). Shockingly, the megastore for parties didn't have them and they could only recommend ordering them online on amazon. Well, thankfully I remembered BW and INDEED- they DID have the letters! I went by the shop and Tiffany, the daughter in law of the owners, helped me with finding the balloons, taught me how to fill them, and taught me how to deflate them to reuse again and again (though this would seem to hurt their business, her honesty and genuine pleasure to help me save money made me certain I'd never buy another balloon from a national chain again!). Tiffany also showed me their portfolio and man, oh man, can they do some fun stuff with balloons! My only sadness was that they didn't sell helium tanks- they only rent them. I begrudgingly returned to Party City to buy one so that I could inflate the balloons at the venue. So much for trying to go fully local on my quest! :) Note: they also supply most of the clowns in CFL. I don't know why, but this makes them super legit in my eyes! Make sure to pet the store mascot, Zena the Yorkie, before you leave! She's a darling!

We love this place! we have been here twice for birthday parties and have enjoyed it each time…read more There are a ton of toys and things for kids to play, climb, and jump on, including a super fun zip line!! My daughter was too scared to try the zip line the first time we came, but was brave enough the second visit and it's all she wanted to do! There's a trampoline, several swings and riding things, an imaginary play area with a kitchen, mangatiles, blocks and sensory toys. When your kid needs a break, there's even a calming room for a chill out session with an adorable camping scene set up and cozy pillows to sit on. There is a party room and tables and chairs for cake and snacks, as well as a boutique area selling Melissa and Doug arts and crafts sets and magic water coloring books for purchase. This place was even featured in an episode of Blippi, so you know it's already kid approved. We high recommend this place for a good indoor play time or party.
