She was very accommodating, and very pleasant. I was late for our session and she couldn't be more understanding. She waited while I changed and hair and makeup done. She made me feel very comfortable while taking the pictures - I swear I felt like a million bucks. We did few outfit changes and took pictures with various backgrounds. She has the skill and talent to take beautiful pictures with the patience to handle two toddlers. It was important to us that she captured the personalities of each child and we feel she did more than that. Douglas did my first headshot 4 years ago, and through all the other photographers I've worked with, Douglas is the one and only best of all. And don't let his over the top fair and inexpensive pricing fool you, he is the has remarkable quality and is the absolute best bang for your buck in LA. So many search and search for a headshot photographer in the overwhelming sea of photographers in and around Hollywood. If you're reading this review, you needn't search a second longer. You've found Douglas and he is an absolute master of his work. His eye is exquisite and second to none. His experience is built on decades of passion, God given talent, and a relentless fire to study and refine. He has the skill of a master, and the ambition and eagerness a student. Douglas also has a 6th sense when it comes to knowing when to snap the shot. I noticed during the shoot sometimes he'd snap early on a pose and other times he'd wait as long as 10 seconds or more. I mentioned it to him and he said he fully crafts each shot, and waits until your eyes move him, and what he captures of you in that fraction of a second is so honest and pure. Good photographers get 2 keeper shots out of 36. With my shoot, Douglas was 75 for 75 and I mean that literally. Every darn shot was stunning and each had something different to say. My only complaint is they're ALL so incredible, it's next to impossible to choose you're top 15 because they're all that good. Another thing with Douglas is he really enjoys his work which adds so much to the results for headshots. His enthusiasm for the work brings so much energy to your shoot and his warmth puts you at ease. He guides and directs you meticulously and comfortably. He answers questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. And one other thing that's definitely worth noting is his studio. It's clean, private, and very accommodating. He has a dressing room for you to use fully equipped with racks to hang clothing on, a big and brightly lit vanity, as well as almost anything you may need (hairspray, dental floss, trimmers, etc). Also, his studio equipment is top of the line which offers endless options of the very highest of quality (camera, lighting, software, etc). So there you have it. That's my attempt to articulate how great Douglas is and how amazed I am with our shoot. I'm quite obviously ecstatic with our results!!! Thank you so much Douglas. We ended up taking some friendship photos together too. The studio uses one-of-a-kind technology to shoot professional quality photos in a self-portrait photobooth. There are plenty of presets you can choose from and the lighting and background automatically adjust. One of the best features of their system is that you have a live screen feedback that shows you how you look in real time so you can adjust your pose or facial expression. It also shows the photos taken right away. I learned so much about how I photograph just in one session. Also, you can do as many looks as you want! There is a changing area and mirror for you to change into different outfits. I was able to comfortably shoot 3-4 looks in a 60 minute session. Booking was easy and there was plenty of street parking. Merrick, the studio owner and designer/innovator is super nice, very informative and is there if you have any questions. You also get all your photos delivered to you via a Dropbox link the same day. Merrick even made a custom preset for us when one of my girlfriends and I when came in for a "Barbie" themed photoshoot since I wanted a pink backdrop! I was able to snag their promo special. We went as a group of 3 and each of us took some personal headshots plus some group shots. If you come camera ready, there's really plenty of time to do actual shots and the price is great.
