Rules must be followed. Plenty of outlets for creativity and fun. (good to have bumpers to keep the bowling balls out of the gutter, as it were...) I remember crying in my moms bathroom because she wrote a note asking for me to go back down to 2 grade and my mom explaining she is doing it because she doesnt want me to be yelled at by her or upset after school because she was being bitchy to me! I was 9! 9!!! and dealing with such a devil! Laughed at me when I cried or pushed me to move faster in the hallways. She is lucky I was young and innocent if it was now I would have yelled at her back and attack. After I went back a grade because of her she did anything to pick on me in the hallways. I hope she burns in hell with her career. Now done about the teacher I wanna talk about the kids. I was bullied and beat on the play ground by 4 older kids and no one did ANYTHING! THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO SPEAK ABOUT IT WITH A TEACHER! IT WAS "YOUR FINE" OR "TATTLE TAIL" Thinking about what I went through kills me breaks me down in tears. I chopped my hair off out of anger that school made me upset with myself kids made me think I was ugly. I WAS HIDING UNDER A PURPLE JACKET FOR 2 YEARS BECAUSE THEY MADE ME HATE MY BODY. If you want your kid to deal with bullies and stupid teachers that dont care for your grades go right ahead and put them in this school. take it from someone who has seem the darkest deeps of this school dont just dont.

My son graduated from MBTS in 2025. He left with a junior scuba certification & life long friends. My daughter who is currently in Lower Elementary is so engaged & excited to be a 3rd grade leader this year for her younger classmates. After working in public schools for 12 years, my main objective is for my children to be in a healthy & happy environment. I could go on & on. The atmosphere is lovely and the learning environment is strong; however, the level of communication was extremely lacking. Our child is spirited and likely has ADHD, and the school was not equipped to accommodate or support her needs. During her second year, we were told the Montessori method might not be ideal, but we were assured the school would pay for someone to observe her and work with the teachers to create a plan to better support her. While this gave us hope, that observation never happened, and no plan was put in place. We were completely caught off guard when attempting to re-enroll and were informed that a final decision had already been made not to accept our child into Kindergarten. At no point was this communicated to us in advance. Our child attended the school from ages 3-5, an age when children are still learning self-regulation, yet we were told the Montessori model requires children to already possess this skill. By the time we were notified, enrollment at other schools had closed, leaving us with very limited options. In my opinion, this is not a good fit for spirited children or those with learning differences. The lack of follow-through and poor communication significantly impacted our family's educational path. If you suspect your child may have ADHD or needs additional support, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.

I took courses at three of their locations: Brandon, Dale Mabry, and Ybor, and I liked all of them. My main complaint was with parking. I don't know if it has improved since I left, but it was horrible trying to find a parking space, especially the Ybor campus. Since the campus is so large, Dale Mabry is a good place to take courses if you want to get involved. They have athletics, various clubs you can join, and Hawks Landing, their apartments, which have quite a few amenities from what I've seen. Unfortunately, I didn't get to move-in as I had planned, but I did get a glimpse of the apartments. The only problem was that the room and bathroom was pretty small, but at that time this didn't bother me much seeing as I just wanted to get out of my mom's house. Also, I was in the Honors Institute, which I highly recommend to anyone who desires a challenging academic environment, so my class sizes were decent and provided for more a personal experience than having over 100 people in a class. This was great advantage for me, particularly when I took my Public Speaking course. I don't do the greatest in front of big crowds, but this class made it more comfortable for me to speak in front of my peers. Every college and university have bad and good professors, and its no different here. I would highly recommend Professor Linsky of the English department at the Dale Mabry campus, and Professor Conrad of the Math department at the Brandon campus; these are only a couple of the great instructors I had while attending classes. As far as tuition is concerned, I loved it!!! I had Bright Futures, scholarships from the Honors Institute, and grants, so not only was everything paid for, but I got a nice refund each semester. I didn't have to resort to getting loans until I transferred to a four-year university. So, if you want a challenging, affordable, and memorable experience while gaining the professional and social skills to either transfer to a university or go into the work force, HCC is the place to go!!!

The reason for 4 stars is that the courses are often a bit of a mess on Mycourses but the teachers will try to correct their mistakes when pointed out . It's still a tough major to be in especially if you have a job given the work load. It's good as far as a college goes and will work in your favor as long as you make it work for you. Only wish they were a little more put together on schedules.
