Awful, unprofessional..gave me the run around on completing my car repairs. I wouldn't trust them to fix my 10 speed bike.They've had my car almost 2 months. They have been slow to communicate. So I call them and they tell me lies. My car was suppose to be complete almost 2 weeks ago! I picked it yesterday one door, the front hood and passenger fender are a different color than the rest of the car! Molding missing in the front. Passenger door won't open. Dash board lit up with various codes. The shop manager never apologized or took accountability for their incompetence . No professionalism, ethics or concern for their customers. Heed my warning! We had to pick up my wife's car and take it elsewhere because they didn't honor an appointment. Two days after the repair was supposed to have been done they hadn't started the repair (which should have taken a couple of hours) because "they have had a lot of tow-ins." They couldn't say where the car was "in line." Their attitude was they'd get around to it when they get around to it. So we picked it up and took it elsewhere. read more

Steer clear of Bale Collision Downtown on Cross St. It has been extremely difficult to just get a status update and you have to deal with their infamously rude manager Andy Roberts. They have had my truck since 2/7 and repairs were supposed to begin 2/10. They are now telling me my truck will not be ready until approximately 3/7! Unacceptable for the amount of damage done. I spoke with three different people about what had been done so far and they all had different answers. On 29 Oct 2013 I took my 2009 Chevy Silverado in for a check engine light and tire wear. Later that day Paul with Bale service department calls me a tells me I need a catalytic converter, my master cylinder was leaking and needs to be replaced, and my upper and lower ball joints need to be replaced. Total price was over $3200. I told them that I didn't have the funds to do that at that time. They called my back a few minutes later and said they could do it for $2600. I told them I would just pick up the truck, for them to evaluate my truck and try to rip me off they charged $101.92. I then got a call from a sales person at Bale saying that they had a buyer for my truck. I took my truck to the dealership that I purchased the truck from in Effingham, Il on 12 November 2013 and they looked over it. I did need a catalytic converter. But an alignment took care of the tire wear, no need for upper of lower ball joints, as for the leaking master cylinder it did not show to be leaking or ever have been leaking. I had the dealership in Effingham, Il change the battery and oil. So in conclusion Bale Chevrolet tried to replace and fix parts that were not faulty or broke. I tried to resolve this through the dealership, Jonathan the Service manager but all he wanted was to look at my truck. I have tried on 3 occasions to make contact with Hunter Bale the General Manager and he has yet to return my call. Bale Chevrolet is dishonest and shady. I have statements where they quoted me service that was not needed. Invoice from another dealership that fixed what was broke and didn't try to rip me off. Bale was trying to preform services that wasn't needed then charged me for the lies Ask yourself why I would take my truck back to a dealership that was trying to make unnecessary repairs. I have an estimate from Bale Chevrolet and the then a statement of work from Russ Braunecker GMC. It shows clearly that Bale was trying to replace the Master cylinder, unnecessarily and that an alignment took care of the tire wear. No need to replace the Ball Joints. The public needs to be aware of the fact that Bale is dishonest in their dealing. The BBB is just a conduit to warn people that Bale is a cheat. read more

Josh totally took care of me and got my insurane company on the ball about getting the vehicle fixed. I had no idea how bad the damage was and said "I'm sorry but I can let you drive this", called a rental car company and called me with updates. Very friendly and personalized service. My vehicle is a Honda and they had no trouble getting the parts. Not in the best neighborhoods, but as long as they got the hood of my van fixed that's all I cared about. read more
