I had a complex wall heater installation project that replacement / repair, and I needed to get it fixed. After calling just about every service provider in the area, I found most places were very slow to respond--and many won't return a call at all. Apparently demand outpaces supply in this area, and it really shows. Jake at Baldwin was the first person to get back to me. He took a lot of time to truly understand the project, and I never felt rushed even though I'm sure everyone at Baldwin was quite busy. I was so impressed with the Baldwin Industrial Group(BIG). Jesse the owner spoke to me on the phone to help me diagnose the problem with our wall heater. They were unable to get a technician to the house that same day but scheduled for a day later. They took a deposit and stated they would have the work completed by a certain day. The work never got completed and they never called me back. I tried to call and their voice mail was full. I left several text messages and E-mails. After several attempts I finally got a hold of them. The owner gave me a bunch of excuses why the job was not completed and said they would call me back the next day. They never did. I sent another email and still no response. They had no issue and quite prompt in collecting the deposit. After that, never head back from them. read more

Pictures are worth 1,000 words so I'll start by posting photos Jesse has texted me of the hidden BURNED out junk behind electrical cover plates. Older Mammoth condos are ripe for electrical problems. And Jesse, Mike and Baldwin Industrial have done such an excellent job at a reasonable price for my condo for years now with various repairs, new heater installation, bathroom ceiling fan replacement, circuit updates, etc. Most recent example: partial power loss for renters (some lights, TV, internet out) but circuit box looked just fine. Jesse squeezed the job into his schedule Christmas Eve (in a snowstorm), texted me the photos of the offending (hidden) partially burned old style "stab-in" wires and installed a new AFCI receptacle to prevent future problems. I'm in escrow on a small 1 1b 1ba condo in the Mammoth Lakes process. Although the usual formal inspection was required by the lender, I contacted Jesse at Baldwin Industrial to take a deeper look at the wiring. From past experience I know that the formal inspections tend to be somewhat cursory, and only point out what is obvious for the benefit of the lender. I spoke with Jesse on Friday; on Monday he was at the Condo and performed a very detailed inspection. Not long after that I received a very detailed email, several paragraphs in duration that described everything I needed to know about the unit. This is a great company to do business with if you need electrical work done. Jesse always returns my phone calls (which is unusual for businesses in Mammoth) and even sent me a text the last time to let me know which technician would be coming to my house. Mike and Jake, the technicians, have done work here a few times. They always wear shoe covers, leave the place clean, and explain to me what was the issue. A couple times my receptacles had tripped but not the breakers. They told me what happened and showed me how to reset the receptacles. Jake stayed the last time to measure the amps on the appliances I was using in a room where the breaker frequently trips so I could adjust which ones to use to avoid tripping the breaker. He even recommended a better space heater, which when I researched it, got great reviews. Both Mike and Jake are super nice men who I feel comfortable having in my home. read more

I have used Baldwin Industrial Group for my electrical needs over the last few years and they have always been professional, accurate in their estimates, and very considerate of my time. They have always showed up on time and ready to get the work done. In a nutshell they helped me install electric heater relays so that I could control my wall heaters with home automation. They also helped to identify and correct an aluminum wiring hazard that was corrected using the alumicon connectors. Most electricians think the purple wire nuts with the solution are approved for permanent installation. It is not. As I have learned from my primary residence.
