Overall, great place to stretch your legs due to the huge trees surrounding the area. It helps break the road fatigue and road hypnosis that some may feel while driving for long stretches.

An informational pavilion provides travel information for exploring and sightseeing in Oregon and a number of the posted informational placards provide background about the history of Oregon. The restrooms have been cleanly and water fountains have worked, providing clean water without a funky taste. The exit from the interstate is clearly marked as is where to park depending on vehicle type.

One even hooked up to the potable water. Since then it has put a barrier so no one can park there. Now it is available for those of us who need to dumb or fill the potable water. It's got plenty of parking (yes, even enough for our large travel trailer), extra restrooms so long lines are avoided, and everything is clean and well laid out. They even have shaded picnic tables if you need a longer break, and a pet area. Rest areas aren't exactly the most glamorous place. But when you find a good one, it's worth making a mental note for your next trip. Because once you cross that border into Oregon...the restroom pickings are quite slim.

As an experienced, well educated Engineer I am not clear on the science supporting the closure of open spaces and especially the banning of people walking on the beaches where there is a lot of direct sunlight and almost always a breeze. But this is not for small minds to ponder. I'm sure our elected officials know a lot more about science than I do. In any case, finding this rest area still open during this fiasco was very welcome indeed. Very much appreciated and kudos to whatever officials made the call to keep it open.

There isn't a light and the small hill on the right does a pretty decent job of blocking your view of any oncoming traffic. One you navigate the little maze the hook will be on your left. It's clean inside, has a subway and decent showers for the drivers. Two of the fuel lanes were blocked off today as a worker was pressure washing them and a large motor home was standing off the line waiting to see where the next hole was going to be. Well a little toot of the ole air horn helped him to choose one. I fueled and parked earlier this afternoon, I watched the parking lot fill to and above capacity as the day has progressed.
