I love this place, if I could give it more than 5 starts rating, I will.
We came here for luncheon after visiting the nearby Daraga Church. Our local tour guide called in ahead of time for the reservation. They gladly accepted order-in by phone so when we walked in the place, it needs just last minute preparation. We were invited to tour "the house turned into restaurant" while they were getting everything ready . It is a marvelous place, a two floor housed with historical decorations, classical pieces, collections and memorabilia's set-up all over the entire house. I felt like I was touring a museum which honestly is one of the best thing I like doing. Each room has a ready dining table set-up based on the number in the party. Even their bathroom was highly decorated.
We were placed in the main floor which has the biggest and longest dining area and found it perfect for our party. The food served was super delicious...guessed it was "with how the locals do it" touch. Incomparable taste! I have tasted the best of Bicol's cuisine as I may say. It's hot and spicy taste has made BIcol's food ( eg sisig, laing,Bicol express,Kinunot) as my most favorite cuisine so far on this Philippines trip.
The service was efficient. The dinnerware, glassware and silverware used were with classiness. The ambiance was pleasurable. The pricing was reasonable for the service we had.
At the end of the dining time, on our way out, the management asked us if we had a good experience with their place. They do want to hear it by "how we will ring their bell" that was located by the entrance door. What a good way of expressing your rating! Of course each one of us rang it happily. Wondering why Yelp Manila has never crossed this place yet?
It was nice to know too that the owner of the house/restaurant who migrated to Australia was a former Adamsonian too. What a small world.
This place is highly recommended for your dining pleasure and enjoyment.
There is this plaque near our dining area, "An Maogmang BALAY SA BIKOL"- as it is translated indeed, is the happiest house in Bicol! read more
