My loved one was left to sleep in a wheelchair all night. High turnover of staff, inexperienced. Loved one was soaking wet and bed smelled of urine which he asked them to change the sheets and they never did. Apartment smelled due to workers leaving dirty diapers in garbage without removing. My husband and I go there everyday and this happens. I feel sorry for those that have no one. read more

Tried them once, not real happy with the person they sent out. But, they pay $9-11/hr where $11 is for a CNA. Pretty sure we got the $9/hr home care aide. Awful service!!!!!! They are exclusively contracted in some assisted and enhanced living facilities in Northville and Livonia. In my opinion, many of the young people they hire are rude, incompetent, extremely lazy and some days simply don't show up. When a resident pushes the button for assistance, the Balanced Home Care aide (many are not professional healthcare workers or nurses), will enter the apartment, turn off the button and simply leave Without addressing the needs of the resident. The workers are evaluated on their response time so the response time is fairly short because they walk into the apartment and immediately turn off the call button, but they NEVER come back to help out the elderly person who needed their assistance to begin with. Many, many of these young girls are on their phones a good part of the time, or visiting with other aides as the elderly people depending on them sit and wait for them to show up. Balanced Home Care service is extremely costly and their professionalism and competence is sorely lacking. But it's the only game in town because the families are not allowed in to help their elderly family members and be sure Balanced Home Care takes full advantage. These senior facilities are locked down to some outside nurses, aides, and family especially during COVID so the elderly residents are forced to use this awful and neglectful in-house service. It is cruel and almost criminal the way some of the residents are treated. Balanced Home Care should be investigated fully and the facilities using their services should be held responsible for what could almost be considered neglect at times. There were numerous times we have issued complaints with the home office in Troy, but they just ignored it, claimed they would address the issue and never did. If you can afford it, private nurses would be a good option. read more

Very happy with them. Mom has been living there for two years and has received great care. The caregivers are attentive and well-trained.

INEXPERIENCED WITH DEMENTIA PATIENTS. They claim their staff is trained to handle dementia patients but they ARE NOT. Worst experience for my loved one. They had been a resident at a facility for many years with no issues until dementia set in. First, BHC staff turnover is very high so the CNA's who deal with the residents are inexperienced to professionally manage situations they may arise. They would call numerous times to report situations about our loved one, yet if your are experienced with dementia patients you would know how to handle easily them. During my visits he and his apartment smelled of urine, face was unshaven looking very disheveled. Last straw was when I went to visit him, the CNA said his foot was swollen yet had no idea why. While inspecting it he also had a "large" sore on his heel that was bandaged. I took him immediately to ER, the hospital Trauma Team came in, assessed his foot (ended up broken - possibly was a result from a fall BHC alerted me of days prior), and sore (diabetic ulcer - very serious). The TTeam asked where my dad lived and firmly stated HE IS NOT TO GO BACK THERE. We placed him in a new facility and it wasn't until then that we realized just how bad his care was at this senior living facility. So please consider this a warning when dealing with contracted healthcare. read more

Balanced Home Care at Oakmont Livonia has changed our lives. After our father passed away we moved our Mom to Oakmont. She was able to take her own meds and care for herself. But when her memory began to fail my sisters and I were calling daily to remind her to take her meds three times a day. She started telling us she had taken them and had not. When Balanced Home Care took over our lives changed. First of all the ladies are amazing. My Mom loves each and every one of them and they love her. It was quite important that Mom got her meds in a timely fashion and her life changed too...for the better. She is much healthier now!! Also she was not taking her eye drops at night. So Mom gets a visit from these wonderful people up to four times a day. Recently we had to add a cream and they got her meds and applied as needed and things cleared up! We love all of them too! We know there are other services we can take advantage of as needed. Peace of mind is important to family members, we know when we need another service Balanced Home Care will provide it with the same kind and caring detail they do now!! read more

I cant even give them one star. This is a horrible company. People don't show up, the caregivers are not trained and not motivated to work. Something goes wrong all the time. They will promise you the sun moon and stars, but they will not deliver. We were paying a lot of money for help that was useless. I do not recommend you using them, and if you do, consider yourself warned. They also do not do background checks. I cant even believe they are in business. read more

I have a relative who is helped by the people of Balanced care. At first, things seems to be going well. Then, it seemed that the assistance wouldn't come very quickly. I was told that the medications were sometimes messed up and that anyone could take the drugs off the cart. Our family is looking for another place. They like the apartment but the help isn't happy and its like its torture to do their job. I am concerned that the helpers are not certified or have amy healthcare training. read more
