The founder and clinical director Nate Lanthrum has poured his heart and soul into Lighthouse. Essentially, Nate customizes a plan for you, based on your goals and needs. He combines the most successful components of various addiction recovery techniques (including the most current treatment modalities) and has made something original. He's deeply intelligent, humble and he brings a great sense of humor into the recovery process. One of the most intimidating parts of entering a recovery program is the admissions. Marty handles the intake process for new clients and makes the process as easy as humanly possible. Marty's basic philosophy is "we will do everything in our power to work with you and get you the help you need." Lighthouse doesn't turn people away who can't afford the program because they actually care about people. If you have insurance then Marty handles that aspect for you and gets you enrolled. Lighthouse offers medication assisted treatment. Their on staff physician is Dr Steve Holtsford. He is incredibly down to earth, intelligent, and caring. I have not had such a pleasant experience with a doctor in ages. He is really thorough yet expeditious. You never feel hurried during your time with him. He encourages you to be gentle with yourself when you need medication, and he is more than willing to assist you in your goals of tapering off medications. Lighthouse is a world class institution. If you need help, if someone you love needs help, give them a call. Asking Lighthouse for help might be the best thing you ever do for yourself or someone close to you.

And you…read morewonder if they are being loved and treated with dignity and respect, despite their age and health problems. I moved my 83 year old mother here about a year and a half ago and her challenges were multi-faceted. The staff was always patient and empathetic and helped her enjoy the best quality of life possible. They maintained a high level of communication with me, but never seemed overwhelmed. They know and do their jobs well and the atmosphere here is very positive and peaceful. My mother passed away recently but I had to take this opportunity to tell everyone that it is possible to have a positive nursing home experience. We had it at Bria of Geneva.

My mom was placed at Bria in Geneva for a 2-week rehabilitation stay after a fall. While the…read moreinsurance was in effect, we were pleased with the staff communication and many therapies she was receiving. However, when we began to question why she was not being seen for the medical problem that placed her there, they could not provide an answer, that was our first red flag. Then after her insurance ran out and we were being charged $290/day, the communication we received was basically non-existent. After her 2 weeks were up, we tried for an additional 6 days to get her released. However, Bria was unable to produce the required paperwork to allow her to be readmitted to her established assisted living facility. This was very frustrating as they would not communicate with me about the hold-up and just kept saying it was complete when it wasn't. Meanwhile, in an attempt to straighten out the problem, her assisted living facility tried to contact directly Bria but they were unsuccessful as well. Messages left at the front desk were not received and there is no voice mail option. Even if we were able to talk to a person and they made promises, they were not carried through. Getting mom on the phone was almost impossible. I got to mom once after 13 attempts! Reception either would not have her correct room number, transfer me to the incorrect nurse's station, sometimes her room phone did not work, or they would transfer me to another patient with a similar name. When we drove an hour to visit mom after her COVID quarantine was up, they said they had lost the previously emailed "prescreen paperwork", though they did go look for it and ultimately found it when pressed. We were forced to pay upfront for multiple days of care at $290/day and promised that a refund would be timely once she was released, however that was also not the case. It took multiple phone calls and a variety of excuses to finally get a refund for days we overpaid. There were some clear standouts at this location, Caroline and Patti were outstanding, but everyone else we encountered did not seem to know what they were doing. I do not recommend this location.

But after the initial appointment with our therapist, Karolyn, she worked with me to schedule them when it was most convenient week by week - letting me know when after school appointments opened up. She even saw both of them at once so it was less back and forth and time off of work for me. And don't get me started on Karolyn. She is the nicest, kindest person and she connected so well with each of our girls (ages 11 & 13). She was very gentle yet pushed them to succeed with their therapies. I couldn't help but to hug her at our last visit. She has helped not only our girls, but has also helped me understand how to help them and to cope with caring for them.

Shuana and Chrissy are not only thoughtful and kind, but their expertise is clear as they inquire and assess as well as assist during movement exercises. The bonus is their hands on massage and passive assisted stretching that feels terrific as well as healing! It's also not crowded so the patient feels well attended. Thanks so much, Michelle H.

Since it has been so long, I was weary to jump right into just anything ever since generic store-chain experiences (lovely staff with mediocre effort). Out of the blue, a Thai massage sounded fun and the concept of being walked on is neat, albeit not stepping on my fine... Immediately after walking through Linda's office door, it felt like I was back in my grandmother's space with music and overall hippy vibe (moreso with Linda than my grandmother, but you get my point). A Thai massage is different than a traditional massage, so the experience was defiantly new. At times, even uncomfortable, but that is because of my own insecurities which I quickly overcame. The concept of stretching and massage is something I've wanted to try for a long time and I thoroughly enjoyed telling Linda to "hurt me" when the knots wanted to see what's going on. Aside from having hands and feet dig into my thighs, hips, and back, my favorite move is one where Linda sits with your legs between the backside of her legs and compresses down - it feels like the bad juju is being forced out of your muscles and can feel the coolness of released tension swell over like ocean waves (bonus points if you ask for that track during a session too). I highly recommend Linda/ Sound Flow Healing for a Thai massage! She takes plastic cards and cash and has special offers for newbies and possibly regulars (which I have to build my status up to). She is super friendly and easily worked around my busy schedule. She has other services as well and takes it upon herself to learn about any conditions you may have to best suit your session and health needs. The environment is safe, sanitary, and homey feeling.
