After going out of our way to see Rue Dénoyez and being very disappointed by the supposedly famous…read morestreet art there, we wandered upon Le Barbouquin. It is a bit hidden on a corner at the end of this street, yet stands out for its eclectic, warm vibe. This is definitely a very local spot - I'm sure we were the only non-Parisians there - but there is some English on the menu, and the server knew English as well. THE COST: 20€ for two coffees and one brunch entree. THE SERVICE: Super nice. I sent back a drink and felt really bad about it, but our server was really sweet and just seemed concerned and asked what was wrong with it (it was the Jus Citron Gingembre - see below). I also left my backpack here and one of the servers ran a couple blocks to catch up with me and give it to me! THE WAIT: None on a Monday at 11:30am. They don't have many tables/seats and the place was about half full. By the time we left about an hour later, every table/seat was taken! THE FOOD: * Jus Citron Gingembre - 1 star This was pretty terrible, basically lightly flavored water. I would hardly call this a juice. Our server was nice about me sending this back and did offer to add more flavor to it. * Cappuccino - 4 stars It was creamy and more bitter that other cappuccinos I've had in Paris (which was good! Not too sweet). * Latte - 4 stars This was my replacement drink, and it was great! Lots of creamy foam. * Tartine - 4.5 stars Amazing!! Soft airy bread with a good thick crust, and a delicious combination cheese/honey/hummus and sweet pickled veggies (I don't even like other things!). I would never have thought all of this would taste good together, but they make it work really well!

Very good food, the breakfast with the eggs and pancake perfect and flavorful. very deliciousread more

It was our last meal in Paris before an evening flight home, and it feels like we figuratively and literally saved the best for last. Got to enjoy the lunch menu, which was--as is often the case in Paris--quite the bargain in price, while still being as large and satisfying as a dinner--and was just an exquisite, delicious meal. My girlfriend started with an incredible leek soup, while I started with a plate of mussels in an incredible broth. We each had the fish special (cod filet). Served in a delicate white wine sauce, it was just elegant and flavorful food, perfectly cooked, and served with lightly charred eggplant and some crisp green beans. I sopped up every bit of the broth and the entrée sauce with extra servings of their delightful french bread. I'm not always a dessert person, but the apple tarte with crème fraiche was a perfect ender, as was the tasty espresso to pair with it. Michelin-starred for a reason, but you'd never know it from the charming exterior and low-key but oh-so-Parisian simple yet elegant interior and pleasant, unobtrusive service. Felt like the perfect place for virtually any situation--a first date, a thousandth date (somewhere in-between for us!), or just to sit by yourself with a book and while away the hours over a delightful meal.

Astonishing service!!…read more My wife and I had the honor and privilege of having an amazing dinner in Paris, what more can I say? Very attentive and accommodating. Just make sure you call ahead to make reservations!!! I called over a month in advance....don't say I didn't tell you! "Traditional cuisine" stated on the Michelin guide. Ideal dinner to have while visiting France! It was truly unforgettable. For starters wine!!!! Francois Blanchard Le Grand Clere Boisson Vivante 'A Table' (thanks Google) amazing wine. I asked for a orange or white and this was a perfect pair for our seafood experience slash some fried pig experience we were about to engulf in. So let's get started on the food shall we friends? Mussels were an amazing choice! White reduction and some butter! Oh bread was included as an app so you know we soaked it up! Next, zucchini and crab salad was fire! Lots of flavor I think there was tarragon. Starters were light and super flavorful. Next mains, fried braised pig? Hello? lol I need that in a sandwich....so good. That's all I gotta say! Wow! And the sea bass was very clean too, no game just bliss. I mean it all worked out. Everything you hope for. Service to be amazing, water cups to be filled, and the reassurance of customer satisfaction. Couldn't have asked for more!!!! But wait! There's more! Dessert time! Yes! Almond cake with apricot and a scoop of that FRENCH VANILLA!! (Does the running man in silence) Man that still lingers in my heart... dessert was amazing!! 10 out of 10 experience I won't forget, Merci Le Cadoret!
