I just have to give a big shout out to the girls at the Baklava Shop! I needed a quick birthday cake made up and went into the shop to see if they had any, they said they usually don't make birthday cakes but they were able to whip me up one and it was fantastic!!! Loved this little bakery! Coffee (locally roasted by Hubbard Lake Coffee Roasters) was fresh and the pastries were top notch! Blueberry and cream cheese strudel, apple phyllo cup sprinkled with cinnamon, and baklava (made with sugar, not honey, fyi) were all absolutely delicious- the blueberry actually tasted like blueberry, none of the pastries were overly sweet, and all were very fresh. We went early in the day. Everything is made fresh daily, so I understand they often sell out by afternoon, first come first serve. Prices were very reasonable- bite-size pastries were under a dollar each. Such a great unexpected find in Atlanta! read more

I love this little gem. Looks are deceiving as you could easily pass this place by driving through Atlanta on M-32. I'm thrilled that one day I decided to stop. They have amazing fresh bread every day. The baklava is wonderful, and I used to live in Dearborn and could consider myself a baklava connoisseur. She carries a local brand of coffee (Hubbard Lake) that gets me through my stretch from Gaylord to Alpena. Very flavorful. I recently stopped in and picked up a chef salad, which was generous in portion, especially with the meats. A great value for sure! The owner and her daughters are always very nice and welcoming. My only complaint is the parking. There is room for only 2 patrons at a time. read more

I've never felt like I should write a "review" for anything, but this small business located in Atlanta, Michigan truly deserves one. The baklava pastry was very flaky and light, the nut mixture was thick and tasty. I enjoyed some baklava that my sister had at her house in Rogers City during Christmas and it was very good. She told me about this pastry shop in Atlanta, MI. After I returned home, I called their shop and I decided to order two boxes. The shipping cost was reasonable and delivery was prompt. I think my order was delivered within 2 days. Depending on your location, delivery time may vary. I've tried other baklava, often made by larger "commercial" bakeries, and their product is not as delicious as the baklava from Atlanta, Michigan. Thank You, Daniel C. read more
