I really like this little bakery that looks a bit dated both in what they're baking and selling and most definitely the decor. But after that, the service and food is fantastic. In particular the sausage broodje which is just about the best thing I've eaten in awhile.
Near as I can tell this may have been part of a chain that originated in the 60s, and the interior looks like maybe it hasn't been upgraded much since, but that's part of the charm.
Have stopped in twice and they're sure to get my business a few more times while I'm here. The broodje and a cup of coffee set me back something like 3 Euro and was fine. Had a nice chat with the lady working the place by herself, also who may have been here since they opened but can't be sure.
I went to 2-3 other places that definitely have the decor and presentation down far better but no one has matched that first bite I can get at Bakker Bert! I'll be back. read more
