This is a homey local restaurant with very good food. We were in town on a brief stop with a tour group, and decided to stop in on our own. You order at the counter and find a spot to sit, which was a challenge, as the place was very busy with locals, and the weather made all fresco dining out of the question. A local couple offered to share their table with us, and we took them up on it. The menu is brief, with only a few daily specials; we opted for what was described on the chalk board as schnitzel, and the woman at the counter said was schnitzel cordon bleu. It was delicious, a pan fried chop stuffed with ham and cheese, and served in a light jus with fresh peas and the omnipresent roasted potatoes. The couple next to us chatted with us briefly about American politics, something everyone everywhere seems to know quite a bit about, maybe more than your average American. It was a very memorable experience for us, dining at a family run restaurant which is frequented by locals. read more
