I went to this location in hopes of finding a computer monitor. I came here after visiting three…read moreother pawn shops in Bakersfield and not finding what I was looking for with a reasonable price. (Reasonable price, under $150) I came to this location and within 5-10 minutes found exactly what I was looking for. They had about five to seven monitors for $20 each. The catch! These monitors only accepted VGA hookups so to use them with a modern computer you would need an adapter. I finally settled on one that I liked and asked to see it. The association didn't have a way to test it out so it was for sure a gamble on my end but for the price of twenty bucks how picky can you be. This location had an assortment of different interesting things that people have traded in over the years so if you are into collecting things like coins, baseballs, memorabilia, etc. you may want to check them out. (Plot Twist: the monitor didn't work when I got it home and all sales are final so that was twenty dollars down the drain. I may come back for the other cool stuff they had. )

My first visit to a pawn shop, and I really only went after watching Pawn Stars. I've always…read morepictured them as being, well, kind of sketchy and dirty run by shady people fencing stolen goods - you know, the stuff you see in movies. I really didn't think there'd be anything there I'd be interested in, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. They carry a wide variety of items, including Dvd's, bicycles, paintball guns, jewelry, motorcycle helmets, and appliances - all kinds of stuff. And the prices are dirt cheap. I bought 4 DVD's and it cost me $9 + tax. The guy behind the register told me if I bought a 5th DVD I would get one free, but I didn't have time to work my way through both cases full of movies. I'm still not sure I understand exactly how pawn shops work, but I'm happy to buy gently used merchandise for a fraction of the retail cost, so I guess this place will occasionally be on my route.

Instead they FINALLY shipped it out while taunting me through ebay, and I told them I would be refusing the package and insisting they refund what I paid. When the package arrived, it had "GOD BLESS YOU" written all over every side of the box! I told the carrier they should return it to sender. They got it back, but never refunded my money (over 35 dollars)! Back then, many people were leaving them negative feedback stating that this place ripped them off and harassed them with religious messages. A recent check shows that ebay is not only still allowing them to sell, but has deleted 99% of their negative feedback!!! ****NOTE**** The physical address - 4646 ming ave - has been shuttered since November 2022. They're still selling on ebay but from an anonymous location!
