Their Cheese and Bacon rolls are extra cheesy and have large portions of bacon, their donuts are large and really soft and their potato pies are just like you used to get at the school tuck shop, slightly crispy with a soft potato centre and a firm pie crust with a warm, mince pie filling. All the locals know this is the place to go and now you do to. Lucky you.

La Banette is a REAL (bakers) delight. * D2 tells me "Patisserie stuff" might be better expressed as Boulangerie.

An excellent port of call, I've had to cut back my visits because the wife told me I was spending too much money there. BBQ Pork Roll Bread: Can be a little hit and miss depending on how busy the rush is but even though it may not be always crunchy its definetely fresh and fluffy. Fillings: Beautiful fresh hot Roasted Pork. I think its pork shoulder. Perfectly seasoned and juicy. Never dry and overcooked. Nice dried pork crackle compliments the meat. Vegetables: Not overly packed out with carrot as many places do to fill the roll out. The carrot is pickled nicely. Also some pickled and fresh crunchy cucumber, and a very thick stem of spring onion gives a nice heat to go with the cucumer. Chilli: Always a good amount of birds eye chilli throughout the roll. Dont have to ask for extra. At least a piece in every bite to feel that burn. Value: $8.50 for a BBQ pork, $6.50 for a standard Bahn Mi. $4.00 for a 600ml coke. Getting a meal for $20 is hard to beat nowadays, so to get two rolls and a drink that fills you up until dinner with change from a $20 Overall: An excellent Vietnamese Bakery in Regent Park/Bamkstown region. Worth stopping off to try their fare. Staff are lovely and friendly, if a little frantic during the busy times. I havent reviewed their standard Bahn Mi (photo attached) but its much the same. They also do some ripper dim sims. I usually go steamed, but their fried ones are excellent too.

My favorites are the chicken rolls (obviously) and the Anzac biscuits. Their muffins, croissants, and custard tarts are also great. Have yet to try the Lamington or small sweet and savoury pies, but they look tempting too. Only thing I'm not crazy about is their standard of putting beetroot on the rolls - ask for it without before they start making it. Their garlic/mayo spread is delicious and the soy sauce blend they put on has the yeasty flavoring of some Thai sauce I've seen before on a table but don't know the name of. Overall, they are flavourful, with top quality juicy fresh cooked white meat chicken and a perfectly crispy roll. Price is outstanding too, at just $5. I've only preferred the chicken roll at one place in Surry Hills, but they charge something like $13 now, so there is no comparison really. Do yourself a favor if you're ever in Glebe and drop by this shop to get some goodies or an afternoon snack roll. They also do pork, vegetable, and other combo rolls if you prefer. Get in early to beat the school kids rush to the pastries. They are cleared out by the end of the day, and close before dinner.
