They make perfect presents and are devilishly delicious to boot. For the rest of the year you can go to Bertrand's for your cake or macaroon fix. In fact everything he bakes is scrumptious - so much so that I often have to stride purposefully past in case I get lured inside by the promise of a cupcake or one of those mouthwatering macaroons. My only wish for this cafe is a makeover! I would love to see the place redesigned to make MUCH better use of the space and create a pleasant place to actually sit in and enjoy your coffee and cake. It's a crying shame, considering all the competition for cafes in the area, that Bertrand's just doesn't cut it in this regard. Because as far as the cakes (and those gingerbread Christmas trees!) are concerned, Bertrand's is the best.

We were able to sit down immediately, and we ordered our food right away. The whole place looked very quaint and the whole atmosphere in there was very inviting. We ordered a sausage roll and a meat pie. Both were delicious but the meat pie was my favorite. The seasoning was done just right and it was well balanced. Can't wait to go back to SYD!

In Aus, they don't get up crack of dawn, and get things ready like they do around Seattle, but this bakery is as close as you get. And the breads and croissant are fabulous! They are open about 7:30 a.m. or so , I know Seattlites everywhere are cringing and wondering how they get any business, but crazy as it sounds, people in this area don't get up and moving until after 7:30a.m. No one leaves there house before 8 a.m. and people only work like 8 hours a day, it's crazy, right, some people even work less.INSANE, but true.

Its just one of those local pie & cake shop that everyone in the area loves, best way to drop it down is that its part of the community and it wouldn't be the same without it :)!! I used to go at the very least once a month when i was growing up, almost as soon as i got my license i could make it a more regular visit :). They open in the early mornings & can close in the early arvos cuase they have no need to stay open any later. Its a manic rush from when they open to just after midday. If you pay them a visit any hour or 2 before they close and they have anything good left call yourself lucky lol. Always will be a favourite :D:D!!!

Their specialty is a loaf using potato in the sourdough mix. The bakery also sells full sized cakes, slices, foccacia, danishes and more. I love how all the product signs have handwritten names on them, showing care for all that they do. The sandwiches look amazing too!
