Donut Shack Donuts at Bajah's Cat Cafe was a stop on the inaugural Triple Play: Best Donuts, Best Cookies, & Best Cupcakes by RI FOOD FIGHTS journey. I had a Rainbow Sprinkles donut and it was really oily and not good at all. I couldn't even finish it. However, this stop at Bajah's Cat Cafe introduced me to the only cat cafe in Rhode Island and I wanted to come back and visit Bajah's Villas with a friend who loves cats. I also ordered an ice tea called the Shere Khan that had blueberry, lavender, and hibiscus tea. It was very cool and refreshing; perfect for a hot day. My friend and I came on Saturday, June 21, 2025. I was able to make same day individual admission reservations for 30 minutes ($20.00 total). When we walked in, we checked in with the staff member and she told us to wait in front of the villas. In a few minutes, she came over and went over the rules on how to handle the cats and told us to wipe our shoes before we entered. We were fortunate to have the whole room to ourselves. There were a good number of cats. However, some cats were sleeping and there were 2 cats that were really active. They have some toys in the room that you can use to play with the cats. There is also a white binder with plastic sleeves in the room with facts about the cats and which ones are up for adoption. At the end of the 30 minutes, the staff member informed us that our time was over. We enjoyed spending our time with the cats. It was very calm and peaceful. After visiting Bajah's Villas, we checked out the other items in the store. There were cat toys, coasters, keychains, magnets, paintings, and crochet items related to cats. Since I liked the iced tea so much last time, I also got a Cheshire iced tea that had dragonfruit and blueberry lavender. It was very good. There is a parking lot in the back with a few spots. My friend surprised me with a visit to Bajah's Cat Cafe, and it was such a fun experience! We had the playroom all to ourselves, which made the timing perfect. Some cats were playful, others were napping, and all of them were absolutely adorable. I loved that they had a book with each cat's name and age so you could get to know them. The environment was really cozy and thoughtful even lint rollers were available for after playtime, which was a nice touch. We wrapped up our visit with a drink from the cafe before heading out. Such a unique and relaxing spot, and I'd definitely go back again, everyone was nice and the service was amazing! read more

The cafe was easy to find and had parking behind the building. I ordered an ice coffee and a bottled water while checking out the different merchandise. Our reservation time came and we were instructed to remove our shoes or wipe them on the shoe cleaning mat. The cats were all so cute and different. Some super docile, some feisty, some playful. I really enjoyed the time we had (half hour). The music in the villa was very relaxing. All in all a great experience. Very cute cafe themed with cats, as you might expect! The owner, Amanda, is very friendly and their food and drinks are amazing! The cafe is very clean. Do not compare them to the popular chain that everyone goes to. You are not paying for speed, you are paying for getting what you order and that it will taste amazing! Definitely can't say either for the chain. Of course they are not only a tasty cafe, they are also a cat rescue. There is a very nice room where you can see the cute kitties, and you can even purchase a ticket to play with them for a while. Or you could even take one home! read more

Every time I come here I wish that I didn't ever have to leave. This is literally my favorite place on earth and everyone needs to come here. All of the staff is so friendly and welcoming, they go over all the rules with you before going into the cat villa and then leave you alone for your uninterrupted time with the cutest cats you'll ever see. You can book a reservation online ahead of time (only $8 for 30 min) and spend time inside the cat villa and hang out with all of them. It's such a fun experience. There's also the cafe where they have so many pastry options, bagels, sandwiches, drinks etc. I recently came here and got a peanut butter brownie and it was so yummy. Back to the cats- you get to enter their villa and pet them, cuddle, hang out it's the best time ever. They have it set up so nicely for them it's such a good environment and super peaceful. 10/10 recommend. read more

We've never been to a cafe of this kind and I can't lie it was really cute!! When you first walk in there's the little shop with different trinkets and keychains. It's $10 for 30 minutes, treats are .50 and then drinks, food, and store products are all separate. However, the prices for the drinks & food aren't bad and they have a variety of options too. I also wanna add the lady who helped us out was very kind and had great energy! She even brought our drinks to us which was very kind. My mom got the pecan pounce said it was really yummy & I got kiki's whiskers which is white chocolate and pumpkin spice. I was far from disappointed it was simply the perfect fall flavor. When we got into the room with all the cats they were all mostly sleepy expect a few that were playing and walking around. So, I would suggest getting the treats if you decide to check it out and go earlier in the day too. Over all I'd give this place a 8/10. I have been wanting to visit the Bajah's Cat Cafe for quite sometime and was so glad I finally got the chance. It's exactly as described 1/2 cafe/gift shop with a separate room where can actually sit with the cats which most are adoptable (adoption fees are $300-$500 which is comparable to other shelters in the area). You can reserve a space in the cat room at 30-60 minute intervals. An hour session is $10. They also offer private sitting sessions as well which can easily be reserved on-line. They provide you a sanitation mat where you can scrub your shoes before entry. You can also go in with just socks on. The cafe has off street parking and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable on the visitation process. This is a great business and I encourage others to visit and support them. read more

Went here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon with our Girl Scout troop. It's a cozy little place that you may miss as you drive by. The parking lot is in the back, accessed via a driveway alongside the building. Inside the cafe area, there are a few tables where you can eat/drink anything you order there. They have a few coffee, cocoa, & tea options as well as chips, bagel breakfast sandwiches, assorted pastries, & fudge. There is also a ton of cat themed stuff to purchase including artwork, jewelry, books, clothing, & cat toys. I ordered a White Catmas coffee; it was ok...maybe a tad weak for my personal preference. My daughter got a brownie. It was super stale, so I let them get a slice of red velvet cake & it was very good. We also got to go in the other part of the cafe (Bajah's Villas) where all the kitties are. You do need to make reservations for that portion, but it's worth it! There were a total of 12 cats. Most were sleeping, as cats do. But there were still plenty who were awake & let you play, pet, &/or snuggle with them. And several are up for adoption. So, if you're looking, take a peek at the binder on the desk in the cat room. It'll tell you about each kitty & who's available to adopt. Cats!!! I Love cats but they don't love me except Squeak, and Bubble not so much, unless I ignore them. It's like the story of my life. lol. So this place is super cool and I found the coffee and confections to be excellent, honestly. Excellent. Though front of house was a touch awkward, she was really very nice. I just felt like she didn't really like me so much, like the cats. So I came with a crazy cat "friend", booked our rez online, and sat on the comfy cat couch whilst everyone else fussed about, taunting and otherwise seemingly bothering about the cats taking selfies and such while several many in a parade of cats came to visit me and sit upon my lap. It was my last day of vacation & I was exhausted & missing my 3 fur babies at home. My niece surprised me with this place on the way to the airport. It was the best surprise. Stopped in when I was in the area was super excited to have a cat café. Ordered a breakfast sandwich. That was fair. The cheese was ice cold on top of the breakfast sandwich not melted at all. I thought there would be cats laying around. Instead, they were in a separate room and you had to pay a fee to go in the room to hang with the cats. Plus, not a super cozy environment. Maybe this is how all cat café work. I have no experience with any other cafe. On the positive side. 5 paws up for this very fine feline cafe. My younger cousin was feeling quite jealous that I had been to two cat cafes and she had been to zero. We looked and the only one in her whole home state was this lil place. So away we went, to Tiverton, RI. Parking was easy - we parked on a side street a short walk away, but they do actually have a little parking lot. We had reservations but arrived a few minutes early, at which point we were promptly offered food and drink. I got a cold brew coffee, my cousin got some sort of mango tea bullshit that the Gen Zers like, but both were good. Food is prepared in an area sectioned off from the kitties, FYI. Then it was cat time. We were asked to either remove shoes or give them a washy in a bleach-based solution. I went with taking off my shoes - I'm not some Italian who thinks that perfect sneakers are the most important thing in the world, I was just leery of getting bleach on my cousin's floormats. You enter the room of the cats. There were approximately 12 cats present. They were mostly pretty chill, generally happy to be pet on their faces. It was midday so they were pretty sleepy. There were toys around but most were just busy being langorous. Maybe they are more active earlier in the day, but it was a kitten siesta fiesta. There were a couple cats that were very skittish kitties and didn't really show their faces. The cats are up for adoption, but alas I already have a cat and didn't think it wise to roll up with an unannounced cat. That being said, I was very tempted by Grayson, a fat old gray cat with a clipped ear and a bow tie. He was a thicc king. Shout out to Fritz though, he was cool too. read more

I chose to come here as a early birthday present and brought a friend and her son. We reserved the room to go play with the cats. We had so much fun! You get some yummy treats, breakfast sandwiches and assorted hot and cold beverages. I got the pumpkin pound cake and a spiced chai latte, which was delightful. My daughter has been begging me to take her to a cat cafe.... I honestly didn't know this place existed until I Googled 'Cat Cafe near me" After researching for a few minutes I made reservations. It's important to note that you do not need reservations for for the cafe area. But if you want to hang out with the cats, you need reservations in advance: $5 for 30 minutes. My daughter and I had iced teas that were delicious. We were not hungry but the cafe food offerings looked tasty. Big array of gifts such as clothing, jewelry, artwork, cat toys/supplies. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but groups in to groups in the cat area were kept small. All the cats were very sweet The only negative that I can say, and it's not really negative towards the cafe.... But parents if you bring your child BE RESPONSIBLE! One parent had a child who was screaming loudly and kept opening the door allowing cats to escape. The parent never corrected this behavior.. This place was cute. Found the place through Yelp maps. Just wanted a coffee to start the day and this place was great. It was clean and had tables available for customers. What is amazing is that they have a room to interact with cats and you can adopt them! They have safety protocols to keep the cats safe. Just keep in mind that you need to make a reservation in advance to play with the cats. They have a website and it's easy to do. I couldn't get a reservation for that day but it was still nice to see them. The drinks at this place were cute and had cat pun related names. Definitely recommend this place. read more

This little cafe is so adorable! The decor is cute and fun and accented by art from local artists that's also available for sale. We an Asiago bagel and a slice of cinnamon bread and both were delicious! Reservations are required in advance to be in the cat room for a half hour. The pricing is great at just $6 per person. The cats were mostly asleep when we were there but one in particular was very friendly and loved checking us out. The cat room was so cute and very clean! No litter box smell at all. If you want a nice, relaxing spot to sit with kitties for a half hour, make a reservation! Hope to get back there soon! read more

It was my first time there. It was not a positive experience. The person that was there was awful and I hear she was the owner. The comments she made before entering the cat room were not kind . My daughter is a vet. We all looked at each other like what about the cars tail. If that is your passion then show it! All i observed and experienced was someone who clearly didn't want to be there. I made a reservation for the wrong day, which is 100% my fault and I do not blame them in the least for that. But the cafe offerings are not great, and as others have said, the staff seemed very out of it. I did not know what they were doing and it doesn't seem like they did either. Don't expect too much before your visit if you want to play with cats. Cat cafe sounds like a good place to have fun with cats (if you don't have a cat and you are a cat lover) ,and this is the only place you can find around Boston. Before you visit, you might imagine you will play with cats and have a lot of fun here, but this might not be true. After we got there (our reservation is from 1230 pm to 1 pm), there were 5 cats total, two of them slept, one of them awaked but hid in dark; only one of them stayed out and walked around (but slept very soon). The only outside cat had no reaction with us (understandable, maybe he was tired of playing with people or he just did not want to play). One of the cats scratched me and another friend, but the cafe said they do not have any medicinal supplies that can clean up the wound for us... well... Frist, you need to make a reservation before you go, either pay $5 per person and go with people you do not know (max 6 ppl); or you can pay $25 for the whole room for 30 mins. The number of cat alters, new cats come or cats get adopted might change the number of cats. You can give them a call or go to their Facebook page for the newest update. In the end, I have to say the drink in the cafe is not that good... Do not try their boba tea.... read more

Love Bajah's Cat Cafe for their mission and dedication to the cats. I joined the monthly book club after my cat passed to be around cats. I then I met the most purfect little boy that sat in my lap for the meeting. Ended up adopting him along with his brother. They are the most perfect little boys and we are so happy that we had the opportunity to meet them in a casual home setting at Bajahs before making the big commitment of pet ownership. I loved this place the first few times I had visited. The cats and cat playroom are clean and lovely and friendly. The staff is fine other than the owner. I walked in today as I like their Chai tea. The owner was the only one there speaking with someone that was not a customer. I was ignored for about five minutes (no one else in the place)! After asking if they were open, they replied that they were. I said I wanted to place my order and couldn't wait any longer. The owner ( after not even acknowledging) a customer, commented that she was having a conversation. So, apparently this is just a hobby as she does not need or want or respect the only customer walking in. What was one of my favorite places is a turn off now. What a great place to get your cat fix! I live an apartment that doesn't allow pets so it's a great way to interact with animals when your living situation doesn't allow for it. The cat room is cozy and bright. There are toys provided and brushes to brush their fur. Another thing I like is that it's quiet and I get alone time with the cats. I've been to other cat cafés and always left feeling a bit disappointed, because it's sort of a free-for-all where you come in and there's a ton of other customers already there trying to interact with the cats. The cats, as a result, get over-stimulated and stressed and end up avoiding everyone. If you are lucky enough to even get a cat to interact with you, it is quickly scared off by other customers crowding around you and the cat to get a chance to interact. Fortunately, it's not like this at Bajah's. They have a procedure set up where you reserve the catroom for yourself and that way you can relax with the cats without interference from other patrons, and the cats are calmer and happier too. I'm not wild about the food there, but the teas are really good. Nevertheless, I still buy food and drink every time I come there because I want to help and support the cats in any way that I can. read more

First of all I am a cat lady, I have 4 at home but who doesn't want to snuggle and socialize other cats? Even though it was 5 pm when my private room time was and there were 5 of us in there, the cats were still fun, playful, and so social, the room where you visit is so cute and comfy for all, you can see the care put into this place. The beverages were delicious, and the service from the sweetest young men was amazing. If I could give them ten stars I would. This place is doing so much good in such a creative way. All the cats were adopted (yay!), but it was still enjoyable to meet the cats and hang out. Our coffees were delicious and the whole place was immaculate.
