(Review 1/2) I rarely write reviews, but after months of…read moreattempting to resolve this privately and giving every opportunity to make things right, I feel it is important to share our experience so other couples can make an informed decision. We booked Talia after extensive research and a genuinely wonderful initial consultation. From that very first call, she was warm, professional, and deeply aligned with our vision. Booking a destination wedding photographer sight unseen is a leap of faith, and our engagement session completely validated that decision -- the direction, the attentiveness, and the final images all exceeded our expectations and gave us full confidence heading into our wedding day. Unfortunately, that trust was not honored when it mattered most. Weeks before our wedding, we learned Talia would not be photographing it at all. Rather than hearing this directly from her -- the person we had built a relationship with, paid, and trusted -- we were informed by a team member and introduced to a photographer, Perry, we had never met. We later learned Talia had a family emergency, which we fully sympathize with. But a personal call or email from her directly would have gone a long way. We deserved that given the relationship we had built. Despite buffer time built into the timeline, coverage felt rushed and meaningful moments went uncaptured -- cocktail hour, dancing, candid moments, and family portraits were missing or severely lacking. The second shooter added very little value. We found ourselves calling out our own poses on our wedding day, something no bride should have to do. We knew posing and direction were part of Talia's approach because she delivered it beautifully during our engagement session. The issue was that Perry could not deliver at that level -- and what made this even more frustrating was that we had shared detailed expectations, specific poses, and multiple Pinterest boards with him well in advance, which he explicitly confirmed he was aligned with. That alignment never materialized on the day, and we were never warned in advance so we could have prepared differently. When the gallery arrived, the editing was entirely inconsistent with the style that led us to book Talia -- many images appeared washed out, overly bright, or grainy, lacking the variety, vision, and storytelling we had been promised. It did not reflect the experience of our wedding day or the visual language we had aligned on throughout our planning. This was only the beginning. Please see our second review for a full account of what followed.

We booked Talia Lopez Photography for my daughter's Cabo last December wedding and were very…read moreexcited to have her photograph her big day. Talia's photos of her previous weddings were the vibe and look my daughter was wanting for her wedding. Talia took their engagement pictures and those were stunning so we knew we were in good hands. About 3 weeks before the wedding, we had a final meeting scheduled with Talia. To our surprise, Talia was not a part of this meeting and instead her assistant was leading the meeting. We were told by her assistant that Talia had to unexpectedly go to Argentina and would not be photographing the wedding. We were told not to worry and that she has assigned another comparable photographer in her place. First off Talia should have been the one to disclose this information since we hired her for the wedding and not someone on her staff. We deserved that courtesy. My daughter spoke with Perry, the new photographer a few times and shared her vision for her day and was told he understood and could deliver. The day of the wedding, the pictures were rushed and somewhat unorganized and the proofs showed it. My daughter reached out to Talia to discuss her unhappiness with the quality of the photos and asked what could be done. Talia offered to edit some of the photos since the lighting was harsh; the pictures grainy, etc. The picture quality did not match the quality that we have seen by Talia on her Instagram posts that's for sure. Never at any time have we asked for a refund! My daughter just wanted the pictures fixed correctly. You can read her review below for more details and it is worth the read! In hindsight, we should have brought our own photographer from the states because you only have one shot at these photos!

Amazing photos by the Celeustus team! Prompt delivery for edited photos as well. Thanks so much…read moreteam!

We recently hired Celestus Studio for a photoshoot and were very disappointed by the lack of…read moreprofessionalism and skill, as well as their unethical business practices. This was surprising because we had read so many good reviews. On the day of our shoot, it quickly became obvious to us that our photographer, Alejandro, was not prepared and did not have the assertiveness or skill to direct our shoot. He did not position us for group shots or cue us. He lacked initiative and sat down a few times acting like he was tired as we tried to arrange ourselves. We constantly asked for feedback from him, to no avail. One of the members of our group had to step up to help direct since Alejandro provided no direction. The shots that Alejandro showed us on his camera were not well-composed and the lighting was often so harsh that half of our faces were obscured by white light - this was not an issue of divergence in artist preference, the photos were objectively bad because people were blocked / blurry / overly lit. We were visibly dissatisfied and expressed this during the shoot. We were also expecting both Alejandro and Romina at our shoot as Celestus' website advertises a photographer duo (please see attached website print-screens). Members of our group had to hold Alejandro's lighting equipment for him since he did not have anybody to assist. We couldn't get whole group shots once it got dark since one of us always had to hold the lighting equipment. Our contract with Celestus does not state that we will be provided with two photographers, but it does include a provision that "Client has reviewed Photographer's previous work and portfolio and has a reasonable expectation that Photographer will perform the Services in a similar style." Based on Celestus' past work, website, reviews, and the fact that two photographers were provided to clients with groups of a similar size in the past, we think it was a reasonable expectation for us to have two photographers. After our shoot, we expressed our feedback and requested a 25% discount on our total fee. Alejandro agreed to this and acknowledged his shortcomings during the shoot in writing, but then later refused to honor the discount. He applied the discount to our remaining balance (we had already paid more than half) but refused to honor the discount on the total fee, as promised. Please see attached print-screens of our email exchange. Our original package was for 200+ unedited photos and 10 edited photos. We said we were willing to receive 200 photos (not 200+) and to forfeit the 10 edited photos for Alejandro to apply the discount. He refused. Alejandro tried to shift the blame, including by saying there were "challenging conditions" due to "interference from mosquitos" during the shoot. We then asked for a gallery of watermarked photos with the right to download just 50 photos if he would honor the discount. He still refused. Finally, we asked for the gallery of watermarked proofs and if we liked even one photo, we would pay the remaining balance without the 25% discount on the total fee. He simply stopped responding to us. We didn't want to feel like we completely wasted our time, so we paid the final balance and received the photos, which were as disappointing as we expected, but gave us a good laugh due to how bad they were. None were worth posting on social media. The worst part of all this is that one of the members of my group posted an honest review of our experience on Google and Celestus replied with lies, saying that we asked for 1200+ photos (we never did) and implying that my friend was the one lying. Alejandro and our group may have differences in opinion on the quality of services provided, but there are facts with respect to what was said in writing. I'm attaching relevant print-screens of our correspondence and of Alejandro's response to my friend's review (in case he attempts to edit his response to recant his lie) to show Celestus' unethical business practices. Do not book this studio.

How can I possibly describe Anna in a way that will do her justice? I probably can't, but I'll try!…read moreIf you're on the hunt for a wedding photographer who captures breathtaking images and embodies professionalism and warmth, look no further than Anna. Our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we first connected with Anna, it was evident that we were in capable hands. As a professional photographer myself, I was particular about finding someone with a true-to-life, timeless style. Colors and light are often heavily manipulated in post-processing, but Anna's commitment to authenticity stood out to me immediately. Beyond her obvious technical skill and classic editing style, her personality truly sets Anna apart. She's not just incredibly talented; she's honestly one of the best people I've ever met. She seamlessly integrated into our 3-day wedding extravaganza, learning our family's names and supporting us throughout, with her whole team being just as wonderful and professional as herself. They became a cherished presence throughout the entire experience. I honestly can't count the number of compliments my friends and family had for them in the following days. After the wedding, Anna immediately communicated the timeline and set expectations. Within a week, we were greeted with a stunning preview of what was to come! Even with just the sneak peeks, it is evident that Anna had captured the essence of our special day with unparalleled skill, warmth, and care. To wrap up this rambling, gushing review, Anna is so much more than a fantastic photographer; she's a consummate professional (A+ organization and communication), a delightful personality (she will make you laugh and firmly guide unruly family with an expert, good-natured hand), and an artist with an exceptional eye for authenticity (the truly beautiful moments as well as the ones that will make you snort-laugh). If you're seeking someone who will exceed your expectations, keep you grounded, and immortalize your wedding day in all its genuine beauty, I wholeheartedly recommend Anna. Hiring her was the best decision we made, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Her words and photography were creative and, more importantly, they told a story. We all have a story to tell and one of the ways to do so is through photography. Anna knows exactly how to do that. There's a story with my red dress and balloons and I'm glad Anna helped me tell it. If you're looking for a photographer who's creative, flexible, fun, and all-around good and professional, then, go with Anna Gomes. I would select her again as our photographer and highly recommend her to tell your story...
