We booked Talia after extensive research and a genuinely wonderful initial consultation. From that very first call, she was warm, professional, and deeply aligned with our vision. Booking a destination wedding photographer sight unseen is a leap of faith, and our engagement session completely validated that decision -- the direction, the attentiveness, and the final images all exceeded our expectations and gave us full confidence heading into our wedding day. Unfortunately, that trust was not honored when it mattered most. Weeks before our wedding, we learned Talia would not be photographing it at all. Rather than hearing this directly from her -- the person we had built a relationship with, paid, and trusted -- we were informed by a team member and introduced to a photographer, Perry, we had never met. We later learned Talia had a family emergency, which we fully sympathize with. But a personal call or email from her directly would have gone a long way. We deserved that given the relationship we had built. Despite buffer time built into the timeline, coverage felt rushed and meaningful moments went uncaptured -- cocktail hour, dancing, candid moments, and family portraits were missing or severely lacking. The second shooter added very little value. We found ourselves calling out our own poses on our wedding day, something no bride should have to do. We knew posing and direction were part of Talia's approach because she delivered it beautifully during our engagement session. The issue was that Perry could not deliver at that level -- and what made this even more frustrating was that we had shared detailed expectations, specific poses, and multiple Pinterest boards with him well in advance, which he explicitly confirmed he was aligned with. That alignment never materialized on the day, and we were never warned in advance so we could have prepared differently. When the gallery arrived, the editing was entirely inconsistent with the style that led us to book Talia -- many images appeared washed out, overly bright, or grainy, lacking the variety, vision, and storytelling we had been promised. It did not reflect the experience of our wedding day or the visual language we had aligned on throughout our planning. This was only the beginning. Talia's photos of her previous weddings were the vibe and look my daughter was wanting for her wedding. Talia took their engagement pictures and those were stunning so we knew we were in good hands. About 3 weeks before the wedding, we had a final meeting scheduled with Talia. To our surprise, Talia was not a part of this meeting and instead her assistant was leading the meeting. We were told by her assistant that Talia had to unexpectedly go to Argentina and would not be photographing the wedding. We were told not to worry and that she has assigned another comparable photographer in her place. First off Talia should have been the one to disclose this information since we hired her for the wedding and not someone on her staff. We deserved that courtesy. My daughter spoke with Perry, the new photographer a few times and shared her vision for her day and was told he understood and could deliver. The day of the wedding, the pictures were rushed and somewhat unorganized and the proofs showed it. My daughter reached out to Talia to discuss her unhappiness with the quality of the photos and asked what could be done. Talia offered to edit some of the photos since the lighting was harsh; the pictures grainy, etc. The picture quality did not match the quality that we have seen by Talia on her Instagram posts that's for sure. I found Dylan through Instagram and after looking at his work I knew he would be the right guy for us. Communicating with him was so easy and he was able to get us on his schedule really quick. Dylan was kind enough to meet us at our hotel and do the photo session there. I knew the photo session would be a little bit of challenge because we have a toddler who is currently going through his terrible twos, and staying still or smiling to the camera is not his forte. Dylan was so patient with our kid and tried to constantly make him smile and look at the camera. My kid was not really cooperating during the entire session, which made me think that we would probably only get like 2-3 good photos from all of us together. Fast forward five days after the session and Dylan let's me know the photos are ready. When I opened the file I couldn't believe my eyes.... there were so many amazing photos of all of us! Several weeks prior to our arrival at Paradisus Los Cabos, I was in contact with Ricardo Pisano via…read moreemail to arrange a family photoshoot. His responses were always prompt, professional and cordial. When I expressed my concern because my youngest granddaughter could be a difficult subject, he questioned me about her interests and totally put me at ease with his assurance that he and his assistant would be able to work with her. Based on this, we went ahead with our photoshoot. During the entire 90+ minutes he and Jennifer were with us, they were so patient and kind. We never felt rushed and the two of them took every measure to make all of us feel at ease, relaxed and comfortable. He brought things for the children to play with and totally won them over with his wit and charm. To this day, my granddaughters talk about our time with Ricardo, which they thought was the highlight of our vacation. He just made our entire time together a fun adventure. And needless to say, his efforts were rewarded with incredible photographs of all six of us. Once home, he emailed me the photos, with watermarks on them, in order for us to peruse them at our leisure.
