From the beginning, Stephanie was rude, confrontational, and repeatedly raised her voice at me. At one point, she stated that she "always yells" because people who get arrested are "illiterate" and have "no understanding of context." I found that statement extremely offensive and disturbing. It is difficult to understand how a company can make such assumptions about the very people who are seeking and paying for their services. Rather than addressing my concerns or attempting to de-escalate the situation, Ryan, who identified himself as the owner, immediately sided with Stephanie and then began accusing me instead. I have never experienced this kind of treatment from a business during a first interaction. Clients dealing with an arrest are already under significant stress and should be treated with professionalism, patience, and basic respect--not yelled at, belittled, or made to feel intimidated.
