What a darling bookstore in Kittitas! We stopped by this small town while hiking and wine tasting in the area, and drove by Bailey's Bibliomania on the way to a nearby restaurant. I just couldn't leave town without stopping in! I'm a huge reader, so this was actually my first visit in a bookstore since sheltering-in-place, which made the experience all the more special to me. I walked in and was the only one in the store, other than the owner. This is a used bookstore with many prized possessions here. I could've really spent the entire day here, but was given a deadline of 20 minutes by bae because we had a wine tasting appointment we needed to get to. So I quickly found the fiction area and browsed as fast as I could, in search of my next read. They also had a deal where if you buy two books, you get one for free, which was tempting. But sadly, I was only able to find one book in such a short time spent here. However, I scored a first edition of a John Updike novel, so it's really a win-win. Bailey's Bibliomania is located off the main street of businesses in town. Parking is easy to find right out front of the store. The owner was very nice and just as you'd expect from these kind of small bookstores, it's a place where you can talk about books with the owner because he actually reads the material. In my brief chat with him, I learned that Bailey's Bibliomania was named after his beagle that sadly passed away. Yet, you see the image of a beagle in the store's logo throughout the place. I just love that this kind of bookstore makes for such a needed presence today, in a world of screens. Kittitas is lucky to have this here; support this business! read more

We were just driving through town from having seen a historic site to eat lunch. Do not know how I missed the Book store the first time through but since I was driving we stopped. Very glad I did. Was quite large and well stock store. For the most part pretty reasonably priced. I found several important works in my more than obscure genres. read more

Bailey's Bibliomania is a gold mine. A variety of books at good prices. I've bought a ton of books here and have spent hours upon hours just browsing this place. I mean, you really can't beat coffee, tea and books. They go so well together. The employees and the owner who is regularly in the store, make shopping and searching for your treasure that much better. Always quality service and great attitudes from everyone. This bookshop is a hidden gem, nestled in the heart of Kittitas County. The owner is friendly and helpful, and regularly offers deals like buy 2, get 1 free, or even BOGO. There's free coffee and tea to sip on while you browse, and the new setup is really classy! There are other little things to buy like bookmarks and greeting cards, too. I absolutely adore this bookstore, I've only been a couple of times but the owner obviously cares for his books, prices them in a way that is affordable to all people, and is just a very well rounded book store in general, I love going through the different sections and seeing what new topics there are from the last time I had been there, my personal love is of classic books and I am never disappointed. Be carefull as you can buy new for a buck or so more. I like to support local business but the owner won't budge and will try to to show you what the book sells for on Amazon. If I wanted to pay Amazon prices, I would buy from Amazon! Today i gave him $4.50 for a used book I can buy for $6 new. I wanted to buy it for $4 but instead of hageling with the owner, I just decided to give him what he wanted. He mentioned there would be tax. I asked if he would take $4.50 even? He replied back "do you ask others stores to cover your tax?" In a very rude manner. I should have just asked for my money back after he made the snarky comment. This isn't the first time he has been a jerk. This is the last time I will be going in....... read more

I love this place! The owner was very friendly to me. The book prices were very reasonable and since I bought three books I got a fourth for free. It's also a cool place to hang out or study as there is beverages and coffee and wifi. read more

Very nice bookstore with an impressive number of books and some magazines as well. The owner gets new boxes of books and other paper items often, so the store has gotten a bit cluttered. But what do you know, I enjoy cluttered and full storefronts ;) The owner John also serves coffee in the mornings. There are several tables up front where you can sit, drink some coffee and read a book at the same time! Win win! Another tip - as you walk in, you'll pass by a free pile, a mixture of books and magazines. Take them as you please. The pictures show an upstairs, but I didn't go up there - I don't believe it was open. If you're exploring Ellensburg, or go to CWU, this is a must-see. read more

I can say that the owner of this establishment is extremely rude! My husband recently lost his job in law enforcement. He has been a hardworking man all his life and although I may sound bias, he really is a great guy. So my husband is doing job searches around town and stops by this store. The man there gave him really negative looks and said that he wasn't hiring. My husband asked him if he could give him his name for his job search reference sheet. The man said he rarely gives out his name but if the unemployment office called him, asking about my husbands inquiries, he would not give them a good statement. He told my husband that he was dressed inappropriately for job searching and that businesses only hire men wearing suits and ties and that he was inappropriately dressed for the workplace. My husband had been in nice shorts and had a nice, clean shirt on. There was nothing inappropriate about his attire at all. He was extremely short with my husband and downright rude. My husband left and told me about what had happened. I'm letting everyone know not to do business with them. They don't deserve your money!! Oh, and on another note, the guy running the store was wearing jeans and a t shirt, too. read more
