I had been searching with DNA matches to cousins on various ancestry sites and not getting any answers when I finally contacted Debra. It was time to know for sure. I was also under the false impression that my mother was no longer living so when Debra saw my file, found a name and told me she was she alive, I sort of panicked. I hadn't expected to be reaching out to a live person! What if she didn't want to connect, how would I handle that? I decided either way, I wanted to know. Debra coached me through what to do but left the final decisions up to me. I wrote a letter of introduction for myself, knowing that may be as close as I ever get. Debra kept me informed of all the steps as we took them because I've never done anything like this before. Debra reached out and I heard back immediately and then met my mom within days of that contact. It's been such a wonderful feeling to know I look like someone, something an adoptee fully understands. I now have a connection to history. I have known ancestry. It's odd to say but knowing about them has made such a difference in knowing about me. My father's identity is still a mystery but that's okay at this time. I have a mother who wants a relationship with me and we share so much in common it's like finding a new best friend. We just shared my birthday together 53 years later. I learned that she never got to see me at birth. Such a truly incredible gift! And to think I almost let fear get in the way. If you are on the fence about this, just do it! You've had a lifetime of not knowing, not connecting. Isn't it time to know? Connect yourself to history. It's like discovering a part of yourself that you never knew was missing. Like finding another half of a story you already thought you'd read. It's a very profound feeling. I highly recommend it!

Today was one of the worst days I've had in a long time. My brother got arrested for getting into a…read morefight at a nightclub. The perpetrator punched my brother and my brother ended up breaking his jaw and cracked a couple of his ribs. They ended up charging him with assault with GBI. After calling 6 other companies and feeling like I was being spoken to by a used car snake oil salesmen I ended up calling our family attorney for some help. Unlike all the other companies I called before getting referred to Rah and 1st freedom, I knew once I had spoken to him he was the one we were going to use for our brother. We ended up being referred to 1st freedom bail bonds by our attorney. He told us , "Rah is a very professional and intelegent person that I recommend all my clients to, go see him. The bail amount is per year, so if the court…read moredelays your trial or defers judgment on your case or merges it with another case, or, as happened to me, simply decides to shut down one courthouse and move all the cases to another (as bev. hills did when it moved to the new airport courthouse), and because of any of those things your hearing is delayed past one year, these guys will make you buy another bond for the same price - and if you don't pay it they will get a court order, tack on a bunch of fees and take it from you. USE ANOTHER SERVICE AND READ THE FINE PRINT. (also, if you're bailing a friend out, they will come after both YOU and YOUR FRIEND for the bill if it goes beyond one year! - get judgments against both of you and F$$%K up your credit ratings.
