So when I said that he went off on me saying that "yes, it is a steak indeed but locally it is called a roast beef." My point is that the waiter should have explained that the "roast beef" on the menu is just a steak and not a roast beef when I was ordering. Instead I got yelled at... The whole fried fish was alright. The duck was also alright. Their beef broth soup with dumplings was amazing, the cheese dumplings are not cheese dumplings but meatballs with some cheese inside. I wasn't told it as well but I was pleasantly surprised. Their flat cheese pancakes were delicious too. We spent over 200 Euros for four people. I cannot say we enjoyed the experience... Then we got two desserts to spilt and I couldn't tell you which one was better. The Apfelstrudel was warm and not too sweet and the "Bier"amisu was unique and absolutely delicious. If I had one small complaint: the potatoes were just a little bit overcooked (soft), but it did not spoil my meal. There was also a selection of local spirits and drinks and of course, Bavarian beer, including a very local one. I have been living in the area for ten years and this place ranks high in customer service (hard to find around here!) and quality.. And it seems like the locals enjoy it, too, which is important! In short: If you want to have one last Bavarian dinner before leaving the Alps and Füssen, I would recommend this spot for both the view and the food. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the main town but I actually enjoyed being slightly outside of the busy area. The neighborhood is quiet but still central with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Felt very safe. HOTEL: I stayed here for 3 nights and would return again. It was well priced and had all the amenities I needed, including free parking. They even had the option for some spa treatments, but I unfortunately didn't have time to take advantage of them - Next time! The staff was friendly, accommodating, and spoke some English. RESTAURANT: I came to the attached restaurant mostly out of convenience since I was staying at the hotel & was pleasantly surprised. This was my first time trying Käsespätzle and it was delicious. The apple strudel was also fresh, flakey, and yummy.
