Oh my glob I don't know how I did it but I found my favorite flavor the first time: lychee AND I CRAVE IT SO MUCH. Being from SoCal, I'm surrounded by a plethora of asian shaved ice (Taiwanese, Korean, Filipino, you name it). I was disappointed that I couldn't have something like that in ELP, and I never enjoyed American/Hawaiian shaved ice but this place blew my mind o_o. Because the lychee is a fruit found in a lot of asian desserts, it hits the craving spot for me. I then add vanilla ice cream to it (they use Blue Bell so it's so thick and creamy and oh so yummy) and y'all.... I'm in heaven. I know I give 5 stars to a lot of places but this is like a 5+ LOL. Also, the staff is super friendly and lets you try all the flavors you want (I may have sampled like 5 only to end up back to lychee. Don't worry I left a generous tip HAHA). 10/10 would go again. I don't know if it's only seasonal but if they ever have it when you stop by, I definitely recommend it! The staff is always nice and they get the orders out quickly! Fellow Yelper, Xoe, made me a Bahama Bucks believer and after spending the past two years only having Bahama Bucks when I happened to be on the Faaaaaaaaaaar Eastside, I finally have a BB on my side of town! They built this for me! If you've never been with BB, I have three words for you... Bahama. Rama. Mama. It may not be on the menu, but the employees will know exactly what you're talking about. You still pick your flavor that your ice gets saturated, but on the bottom is something GLORIOUS! Ice cream! Eff yeah! And I'm not talking crappy freezer-burned ice cream, I'm talking deliciously smooth French Vanilla ice cream! A bite of BB already amazing shaved ice laced with the best ice cream is mind blowing! This is the only way I eat shaved ice now. On it's own, their shaved ice is seriously the best in Texas, but heighten that already insanely yummy experience to the Bahama Rama Mama. One thing that I've learned about BB in El Paso is the fact that every day is opening day. And by that I simply mean, it's rarely not packed. It's especially packed in the summer for obvious reasons. This one recently opened so every day it's packed, but now that schools back in sesh I'm sure it will start dying down a bit (well, at least before 3 PM). When we went to BB, it was only days after opening and I didn't think this location ran any slower than it's predecessors. It was crazy packed so we spent a lot of time waiting in line to order, but the wait after we ordered wasn't that bad. The one thing I wish they had here is a drive-thru. Sometimes I'm a stereotypical "lazy American" and I'd prefer to sit while I wait. But they really did a great job of erecting this BB on the Westside and they have an adequate amount of workers to handle the big rush they have to deal with on the day to day. Great location too. First time here, and I'm not really sure why?! I fell in love with shave ice when I'm Hawaii, and smoothies, well who doesn't love those. Out on the WestSide, let's keep this short and sweet (pun intended). This place has smoothies, and shave ice. Just about any flavor you can ask for, or combination of flavors. I mean, I had a smoothie called strawberry freezecake, dope. All their syrups are on display, with flavors like blueberry, to stuff called simply: Princess. It's a great summer time stop in and grab something cool to drink. Out on Redd road, this place is worth a check out. This Bahama Bucks opened about a year ago and we have become regulars. This is my son's favorite place. They offer shaved ice and smoothies and have a large selection to choose from. I grew up on Italian water ice from Philly and these are pretty good in comparison. This is must try for anyone. Be sure to get a store card which you can get clipped every rime you buy here. Well... Any smoothie places will automatically get 3 stars or higher just because I love smoothies. I went there for the first time and got Peach Flamingo. It was super delicious! I kind of regret that I went there though.. Now I know it's actually right across my gym I go 3 times a week... I'll be going to this place a lot haha Next time I will try their shave ice. [ SERVICE ] There were only two employees working the evening y sister and I came by: one working the register and the other completing the orders. There was only on more customer in front of us. The girl helping us with our orders was very patient with us and even explained some of the flavors when we asked. [ THE NOMS ] My sister and I ordered some shaved ice: a regular pina colada and regular Coca-Cola ($3.79 each) and also an Avalanche Coca-Cola ($6.19) for to-go. The shaved ice was very finely shaved and they were generous with the syrup flavorings. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from and to be honest it was a bit overwhelming looking over the menu. They also have smoothies, lattes, lemonades, and some sodas. [ AMBIANCE ] The store itself was empty except for another customer and his son when we arrived. Clean appearance with both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, the shaved ice was pretty good and the portions were more than I expected and each came with a little umbrella topper. So second time they get my order wrong. Snow cones are good. Staff is kind. My kids had received free award certificates I told the young girl either she didn't hear me or pretended not to pay attention to it. Either way I had order 3 snowcones together shouldn't even had been 10 bucks when two where suppose to be complimentary. My daughter had told her she wanted a snowcone and not a smoothie I told her I wanted a baby snowcone for my baby. Only reason I still come here is for the kids. Sooo, not to sure what the rave was all about with this spot! I had heard great things, tried to go once when they first opened and the place was literaly full, and finally got to stop by. As far as shaved ice goes, is there any difference where you get it? I've been to Big Daddy's in San Antonio and that was something of an experience but this spot doesn't have anything near the quality of concoctions. Given they do have a large variety of flavors and different kinds of ice they can make, they all seem a little boring. I mean if you want a wedding cake, why not go out and buy one. The ice was good and we got the mango flavor, which was okay I guess, nothing to rave about. I guess I just feel like you can get the same quality of product from the local little huts that are around town. The prep area the employees were in were in horrible condition, with empty bags, paper towels, and empty flavor bottles scattered throughout. I guess it reflects on how the business is being run and if they don't take pride in a clean working environment, who knows what's going on behind the doors. Overall, I'd much rather go to a ice shack located around town for a better product. read more

By far the best shaved ice, snow cone, Italian ice, or raspa, I've ever had. They have a ridiculous number of flavors that can be mixed and matched to make an almost endless number of combinations. They also have flavored drinks, smoothies, coffee drinks and more, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. That staff has been fast and efficient at each of my visits. The wait here is a bit long but that's because of huge customer volume, due to its excellent products and recent opening. I think the lines will go down over time, especially in the winter. The price seems reasonable for the quality of product. read more

We loooooove this place! We can not go back to regular shaved ice, we need to have all our shaved ice with BRM. The smoothies are okay but not exciting. We are here so often that we have accumulated and used several punch cards for free shaved ice. The customer service is normally good. They always have one or two employees that still needs a little bit of training but everyone is always willing to answer questions or correct an order if needed. Living in Lubbock for a while, I became very accustomed to Bahama Bucks (where it started) and it was probably the one thing I missed about Lubbock when I moved away. Thank god they franchised out to El Paso. Having spent a good chunk of time sampling some of the more famous shaved ice locales in Hawaii, I can say Bahama Bucks is the real deal. I find myself trying to go down their list of a bajillion flavors, sampling them all, and am never disappointed. My personal favorite is Cherry Lime. If you've never checked this place out, it's a great place to grab a great tasting, and depending what you order, less guilty desert. A word of warning, for some reason this place is always jam packed on Friday nights with kids (winter or summer) so be prepared to wait a bit in line. Even when we had the snow around X-Mas this last year, people were still getting their Bahama Bucks. A testament to how good it is. read more

Kinda disappointed, new location has been open for a little under a month and every time I try to go it's super packed, no big deal but the wait time is not good for shaved ice. This last time recently my bf and i ordered the same thing and both are ices were dry in the middle throughout most of the cup, syrup was only on top and only partially soaked through so i felt like we were eating only ice. Waited 30min for plain ice. Would rather go to East side locations. Also would have maybe complained too but we couldn't eat it there since its so packed so we didn't notice till we had driven off.
