This is my pharmacy, and I like them a lot. BUT today I was…read morewaiting on line to pick up a prescription and the line went back almost to the Minute Clinic. I didn't care about the line. What I cared about was the older gentleman who tapped on the door of the MC, and what happened when it was opened to him. He told the woman inside that his wife had made an appointment online, and they were there. The woman told him he'd have to wait for a phone call and then they'd let him in. He explained that his wife had a problem with her foot which was so painful she was barely able to stand and that's why they made the appointment online. The woman then got very rude, telling him that she'd said she would call him, and that she was on her lunch hour so they'd have to wait. She spoke to him in the rudest tone. I was shocked that man was treated in such a rude and condescending manner.

I hope I've found the right location to review. If this is the Walgreens in Conway where a gal…read morenamed Pat works, then I have the right place. I've never reviewed a drugstore before, and might never again, but I was so pleased with my quick, random stop in this place on our way to Myrtle Beach, that I had to say something. Realizing that I (of course) forgot to bring a couple items with me on our trip, we spotted this Walgreens. Routine stop, I thought. What made it something memorable and worthy of a report? A gal named Pat, who came up behind me on the shampoo aisle and said "Can I help you find anything?" Normally I would have quickly said, "I'm just looking", but stunned that I was even asked that question in a drugstore, I said "Oh, I'm just looking for a good deep hair conditioner". She thought for a moment, then pointed out a product that she said she had heard good reports about. Looked good, not too expensive...I grabbed a couple and she led me back to her register, where she proceeded to look through some coupons that she offered to save me a couple bucks! Then, when it turned out they were buy one get one half price, she seemed so genuinely pleased for me that I was saving even more money. You could FEEL the warmth from this kind, helpful, caring woman. I said to her: "You have MADE my day". What a surprise that a random, quick stop in a drugstore could make me feel what she said to me as I was leaving: "Have a blessed day too". Oh, and she was right about the hair conditioner. It has already made a difference!

When the girl rang up my total I tried to use Good RX which would have saved me $10. She proceeded to say to me "if you come back in a 30 minutes I'll be happy to change it for you, but it's time for my lunch break." And they wonder why they have lost business to Walgreens right across the street. Walgreen's here I come.

Believe it or not, there was a time that Walmart wouldn't sell anything that was made in the United States unless the only option for a particular product was an imported product. Oh, the good ol' days of Sam Walton. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case and many products are only made overseas. With that being said, there are some items I'll get here including bottled, canned, and boxed foodstuffs such as soda, flour, beans but I tend to stay away from their produce and meats with a few exceptions. There are a few general merchandise items that you can find on sale but again the quality of many items are quite cheap. As for this store, the people who work here are all generally nice and it's actually the only Walmart I've ever been to where an associate asked me if I needed help finding something. From the first time I walked in the door, the staff has been helpful and friendly. Within 3 weeks, they knew my name and my husband's name (even without ever meeting him). The neighborhood pharmacy feel is incredible. Nice touches: Ed Thomas (the head pharmacist/owner) called me after we moved our business to them to thank me. I also got a birthday call. Little touches that make me feel like they're glad we brought our business to them. I truly think there is not a better pharmacy around.
