Slime covers all of the tubs. Lacking basic sanitation.

Very dirty, weird vibes, people having inter course in the tub when we arrived. Avoid at all costs.

I went to Bagby Hot Springs this last weekend and I had an AMAZING time! It was my first time going to any sort of hot spring so I wasn't sure what to expect. The trailhead is easy to find, has plenty of parking, and has a bathroom (which is like all other hiking bathrooms - not pleasant). The hike itself is beautiful. There are a few bridges that are very picturesque and tons of times to see rushing water. It's amazing! The hike is also fairly easy - I would say a beginning hiker could do it with ease. When we finally go to the hot springs, there was a pretty lengthy line for the upper deck which had the 4-5 different private rooms. We ventured to the lower deck and found the big, private room that had one spring, which is the one we waited for. We had two groups in front of us so it was a two hour wait, but I think it was definitely worth it. There's something definitely interesting about sitting in a (for lack of a better word) hot tub in the middle of the woods. It was so relaxing and I genuinely felt so refreshed after getting out and getting dressed again. My ONLY gripe about Bagby was some of the people that were here. There were two older men (I would say 60s) that showed up after us, so they were in line to be after us. In the bigger tub that we had, it's said that you can fit 6-8 people, but that's if you're like FAMILY or super close to those people. With us four girls in there, we would have been touching if there had been one more person in the tub. Anyways, the two older guys were peeved that the couple in front of us didn't invite them in, and then asked US if they could join us too! And then there was another guy that came along that kind of gave me the creeps (he was totally alone, too) and asked to join us. Uhhh, no?! Sorry, but a group of young girls aren't going to be down with inviting random creepy, old dudes into their tub. Just a thought. Outside of that small, awkward experience, I had such a great time. It was an amazing experience and very relaxing. I definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Absolutely awesome place for a small hike with an amazing off the grid adventure! Me and my husband came here in late January and there wasn't any snow it was drizzling but nothing too bad! We had an amazing time! The drive to get here is pretty dreadful if you don't like driving but it wasn't too bad for me! Once you get there to a pretty decent sized parking lot and then you get your pack together and start on the trail that is clearly marked and very safe for all levels of hikers! The hike to get there I would say in moderate not extremely easy but not hard at all! We brought London our Yorkie along and he had a blast! Whether you are a nature freak or just someone looking for adventure I definitely suggest checking out this nice little paradise away from everything at least once! I mean after all we did drive from Seattle and made this a day trip and it is very doable! The structures are very rundown and need some love which is why I question what they do with the money you place in the collection box?!?!?! But none the less there are plenty of tubs and stalls for everyone! We waited maybe twenty minutes after changing into our swimming trunks for a tub of our own! And when I say it was hot it was HHHOOOTTTTT you definitely will need to put cold water in the tub to counter how hot the print water actually is! Also the scenery is absolutely amazing! The trees and the trail really are beautiful! I would find myself back here before we move I guarantee it!

NO PUBLIC NUDITY. This means clothes remain on in the public shared bath areas.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. However I am going with 3 stars so as to not oversell the springs. It's a nice 1.5 mile hike to the hot springs. What I have to get straight with you is this place is public, it's not adult only, it's a great hike for families, and should be utilized by anyone who knows how to behave in public with common sense and respect for others. Moving on... I took my 3 kids aged 11, 10 &10. They were able to do the hike, it was an easy incline and the trail is beautifully maintained. It's just absolutely a gorgeous hike to the springs. CASH IS NEEDED. $5 per person. Payable to host or envelope deposit box at trailhead. Leave proof of payment receipt on your dash of car. Now your at the spring, what next? You will see a PICNIC TABLE. If people are waiting ask them 1. Are you in line? 2. Are you waiting for a private or public bath space? 3. Were the public baths full? That will indicate where you might be in line and possible wait time. First, you will encounter the PRIVATE BATH HOUSES. There are 4-5 of these rooms. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN BE NUDE!!!! Yes *only* in a PRIVATE ROOM. 1 room was broken. Think of these as a hollowed our wood canoe shaped bath. You are supplied with a bucket so you can retrieve cold water to add to the piping hot water. This is for 1-2 people. Or an adult and 2 small kids. Nails to hang towels, a bench inside. Second, the public baths are to the RIGHT and BEHIND the private bath houses. PUBLIC BATHS THERE IS NO PUBLIC NUDITY ALLOWED. PUBLIC MEANS KEEP YOUR PANTIES ON!!! I know this is confusing. Yup, no public nudity, it is all a terrible misunderstanding. Continuing on....There are 4 tubs that hold 4-5 adults each. These are shared and shared with strangers. So be prepared. Party of 2 should expect more people to join the tub. Hot water piped in, you may still have to retrieve cold water with buckets to cool down. With exception of the LARGE tub which has cold water access to a degree. Still might need to share. These tubs are a bit slimy. They leave a scrub brush and you should scrub them before and after your bath. You will be hauling cold water to your tub. The plumbing was recently replaced so it ended up being really enjoyable. My kids loved the hike and bath and would do it again. I can't ignore the public nudity issue. While this is a tradition for the hot springs it is no longer privately owned. People can be ticketed and have been ticketed. All ages are going to this hot springs. Please be respectful of others or use the private bath houses. 3 stars cuz if I put 4 picky people would go up and freak out over the slimy tubs and the idiots who don't understand NO PUBLIC NUDITY. In truth I would give it 4 stars as it met or exceeded what it advertises, a beautiful hike in the woods with a hot bath at the end. Perfect day.

We had a great soak on Mother's Day mid morning. The trail is an easy to moderate 1.5 miles. We waited about 20 minutes for a kind gentleman to finish his private soak. The parking area, trail, and facilities were clean. The trail itself is absolutely gorgeous! We went up with our 3 pups and kept them tethered to their harnesses and leash in front of our cedar tub. Hubby and I were very comfy in the tub. It would fit a max of 4 people. There was a clean bucket and a cold water faucet as well to regulate temp. On our way down there were many more people, pups, and families going up and the parking lot was full. So if you want to have a nice soak I recommend early morning.

I have been to a number of Oregon hot springs Umpqua, Cougar, Deer Creek, Paulina, Mickey, East Lake and a few more. Most of them have a very similar layout.. there is a warm open pool next to a body of water . Bagby on the other hand is quite different. As far as I could tell there was not any significant body of water anywhere close by. The trail to this spring is beautiful and has a good amount of elevation gain and loss but is totally worth it. If your out of shape... do it!! Just bring water if you go. Once you make your way up the rigorous trail you will find a historic outpost of some kind. Its actually pretty cool! Once you make your way around the fence into the cabins, you will see the source of the spring. There is a random little hole that springs up out of nowhere. From here you will find a little ditch that leads the water to a pipe. The pipe then takes the water into several cabins. Each cabin has a wooden tub where the water enters. One thing that is really cool is that privacy you get with the cabins. This is great if public nudity bothers you. On the other had its almost disappointing if you like to socialize with other people. Over the years I have gotten used to the small talk you can have with people when chilling in these things. If talking to random people is your thing, then your in luck as there are several larger tubs where 5 to 6 people can join you. The last thing about Bagby that sets it apart from other springs is the fact that you can quickly drain each tub, scrub it with the provided brush on site and quickly refill the water! This is soooo clutch its not even funny! The biggest downside to a hot spring in my opinion is that you never know how nasty the water is. And you have tons of people just chilling naked in them and doing god know what when nobody is looking. This is totally worth the 5$ parking fee when you get here. As always if you do decide to visit be sure to make a day of it and pack out what you pack in! Here is a link to the website of the land management agency that is in charge of this place. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/mthood/recreation/?cid=fsbdev3_053501

Go here in the winter if you can! This was an incredible experience. My friend and I are desert rats that went early December, so we really didn't know what we were getting into. The hike is an easy stroll. It only took about 45 minutes, even with the weather. The hot spring water was perfect. We went in the afternoon on Monday, so hardly anyone was there. Does seem like it might be a party spot, though. So if you want to avoid that, I'd suggest avoiding the weekends.

One of the few truly great and free experiences in Oregon. However, on that note, it's unfortunate that it may a casualty of the Tragedy of the Commons. Meaning-IF YOU PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. It's called personal responsibility. In fact, Bagby is at risk of becoming privatized because the volunteers can't keep up with cleaning up all the trash. Follow the directions on the link to get there. I would recommend getting there before 5pm or after 8pm, it can get quite busy at times. This is especially true in the warmer months and on weekends. Parking is $5, just grab an envelope near the Bagby welcoming sign, fill it out, and deposit your $5. They check at times to see if people have paid. Also, this is your only chance to use the restroom before you get to the outhouse at the actual Bagby springs. The walk is beautiful, it's about 1.5 miles. I would highly recommend bringing a head lantern (Petzl), lots of water, and a bag to pick up your trash. The bath house consist of separate rooms, each with walls and doors. Just make sure to plug the bath (yeah, took me a while to figure it out completely) and fill the bucket with the cold water from the well, so you can cool down the water. Right next to the bath house are the tubs, they are circular and consist of two 2 person tubs and two 5 person tubs. The tubs are clothing optional and are quite relaxing. Just be careful not to cut your foot on the metal plug at the bottom of the tubs. Enjoy responsibly!

My friend and I went to Bagby this week on a Tuesday getting to the springs about noon. Tips: 1. Buy your $5 PER PERSON pass at Ripplebrook Ranger Station, not the Estacada RS. Ripplebrook is open Thursday to Monday from 10:30am to 4:30pm. You can buy passes at the trailhead too but THE RANGER WILL GIVE YOU A PRINTED MAP to the springs. This is also the last place to get snacks and incidentals. 2. Even if you plan to stop at Ripplebrook RS find good driving directions at oregonhikers.org ahead of time just in case the station is closed because... 3. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY CELL RECEPTION PAST ESTACADA, no matter who your carrier is. 4. There are various posted signs for Bagby, some are easy to see park signs while others are barely noticeable white letters vertically painted on stop signs. People had even written on the pavement in large letters but if you go when there's snow or at night you won't see these. 5. I brought towels, water, and food (there are picnic tables). I only wish I'd brought an extra towel for outside the tub as the wood floor was naturally dirty and slick. 6. Make sure to bring a flashlight and or lantern if you come in or stay after dark. There are hooks in the private stalls to hang a lantern. 7. Despite what the idiot bathing next to us said, there is NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND IN A NATIONAL FOREST. This fella was complaining about someone smoking cigarettes when he had just been smoking marijuana. He also loudly cleared his pipe a dozen times, dropped his phone below deck at one point and despite arriving with a girlfriend asserted he wanted a private stall to himself "to stretch out in" even though others were waiting. My tip here is, expect at least one jerk. Pros and Other Information: * the HIKE in was gorgeous, easy and was very well maintained. It will take about 45 minutes for the speedy inclined. Walking slow and taking a lot of photos on the way in took just over an hour. * there were well maintained out house style RESTROOMS at both the springs and trailhead * there are different styles of HOT TUBS in two separate locations. The first set of tubs has both large public tubs and private canoe style tubs with a door. All the tubs are made of wood, not rock like some might expect. * The SPRINGS WATER IS VERY HOT and you'll need to FIND THE BUCKETS OF COLD WATER to add to your tub. The cold water fill up wood tub is situated between the private tubs and public tubs. We added 5+ buckets of cold water but obviously temperature is a personal thing. We didn't see the other tub further down the path as it clearly had a group of people in it. * use a provided brush to CLEAN YOUR TUB before you use it (and when your done) * we didn't have to WAIT for a private tub but folks who came after us waited more than an hour for one. A public tub was however open. * the springs were very clean with nearly empty trash cans and littering was not an issue * overall this was an amazing and wonderfully relaxing experience and I will definitely be back. If however it had been trashed or there were people related problems as others have described my opinion would be wholly different. Cons: * one private stall was out of commission as it smelled horribly like a toilet * the public tubs are quite deep so draining them for clean water would take a very long time * given we went during the week and off season and people still had to wait, you can expect this * people were smoking both cigarettes and marijuana * there was one litter pile from one person or group at the trailhead, all Sonic Burger trash. The dumpsters at the trailhead were overflowing. I suspect nearby campers dump all their trash there when they visit. * we saw no children there and I would be inclined NOT to bring children given both the possibility of unseemly behavior, hike length and I think most folks would see children as disrupting a largely adult atmosphere

    Rubbish in the private bathrooms.

It makes me mad how people litter so terribly in this place. We were a tourists in the area. Our image of Oregon as a nature-loving state just shattered down to the ground. Who are these people who litter so much? What we saw was inconceivable. What kind of education do these people receive? I can't imagine people coming all the way into this deep recess of a national forest to bring on so much rubbish. Oregon, what's wrong with you? And the scribbles on the walls ...so unsavory ... "Fuck" was one word I remember .... certainly families with children will not feel too comfortable to come here, in spite of the wonderful things that are here kids would really enjoy all thanks to a few mindless individuals' taking over this place as their preferred location for copulation after dark. My 11 yo enjoyed the hot water though -- he probably wasn't paying much attention busy playing with hot water. I really want to give five stars because this would be a Great, Great, Great place for the public and families to enjoy .... if it were not for the filth some people leave there. The hike is beautiful, lots of really tall trees, and the wooden tubs are excellent, and seeping into the hot natural spring water would a truly heavenly experience .................. IF it were not for all the garbage and stupid scribbles people leave here. It would be so nice to come here at night looking up into the sky under the stars, if we could be sure of safety in the area after dark. We went there early in the morning around 8 am, in the mid August, and it was so nice to just being able to take the bath (we brought the swimsuits) outdoor -- or it would have been, if it were not for .... At 8 am, there were already some people before us. On our way to get there, one man was already on the way out, with a whole big bag of garbage. That we arrived soon after this discerning gentleman picked up stuff and STILL found a disaster there fills me with anger and sadness. The whole place would be such a wonderful place .... if it were not for the mountains of garbage people leave. Empty cans, water and shampoo bottles, broken soap pieces, wet dirty clothes (T-shirt, socks, etc.), used candles, grapes and carrots (IN the tub -- ugh), bread crumbs, some other food, and who knows what else. Horrible. We took a bath in an open area because individual rooms were just so catastrophic in its accumulation of rubbish. It's a good idea to bring your swimsuit so you can bath in the open area. In a separate compost bathroom, but the only toilet seat there had someone's FECES on there. Disgusting. I see that a lot of people just take toilet paper from there to take care of their business in the woods nearby, because I saw a lot of toilet papers on the ground --- it is one thing to poop on the toilet seat and not cleaning it (which is totally unacceptable) but it is also totally despIcable to litter with your used toilet paper soaked in your urine. A ranger came to check, but what can he do alone facing this MOUNTAIN of trash? The only saving grace is the trash bags offered at the trail head, suggesting people to pick up trash as they go in and out -- it was not there early in the morning when we entered the trail -- probably the ranger we met at the bathhouse put it there, we saw it on the way out. But, I really think, These bags should not be necessary. People should know better. What are their frackin' problems?! The two dumpsters at the trailhead was OVERFLOWING with trash. I have to ask, what's really wrong with these people? Have you ever heard about " LEAVE NO TRACE"?!?!?! Take everything you bring home, compost and recycle ..... Please!!!!!!! In my opinion, the state of Oregon or the township should reinforce a law to give fines of $1,000 for littering like they do around Yosemite Park in California. Use the revenue to update and maintain the bathhouse facility. The trash really ruins the whole area -- and the bathroom --- This would be a wonderful place if it were not the idiocy that goes on!

I was worried at first with no recent posts on their website and google maps providing incorrect directions that we were driving into a horror movie. The springs were quite relaxing. The park was pretty clean. I'd definitely go again. It's worth the drive.

This was one of the places on my to do list when I came up here from California. The drive took 2hrs and then we had to hike a mile or so to get to the tubs. Once you're there it's all worth it! So relaxing. Surprisingly when I went we were the only people there. I thought it'd be pretty packed but nope so it was nice having the place to ourselves. Yeah it's probably a pain getting here but if you love nature you'll fall in love with the hike and the trip here. It's very beautiful and relaxing!

Despite being clumsy and lacking any visual depth perception…read more(seriously, it's clinically proven), I can't really use those excuses when it comes to my persistent ability to get injured. If you see me, chances are I have band-aids on. So, I'm pretty sure it's just that I actually LIKE getting hurt. This is a case in point: The Prelude: Since I was about 3 years old, I have enjoyed exploring the depths of the woods, especially near some giant, rushing body of water that drowns out all the mundane commotion in my head. I like being surrounded by towering trees, waist-high ferns, and little, precious wildflowers. I've run into grizzly bears while huckleberry picking, yet never, ever have I been afraid in the woods. Not even at night when I have to go pee. I actually want to get lost and find my way home. This is my idea of fun, especially if I have a cold beer in hand. Problem is, I usually get hurt while I'm out there. In fact, I judge my excursions as such: the more I get hurt, the more fun I had. The Rub: This is where the Clackamas River is GOD to me. Yeah, I love to come here to swim, hike, camp, float down the river, picnic, etc. But I always leave with excessive scrapes, bruises, scratches, and bloodied body parts. Could be I just play hard. But I think it's more than that. It's as though the river gives me so much pleasure, it demands a little sacrifice from me. Not all rivers have this affect on me, mind you. Yesterday, it took a few pieces of skin from my arm when I fell down a hill, clambering to get to the water on a hot day. Last weekend, it took a chunk out of my leg when I foolishly attempted to mount a log in the river. Painful, yes. But these are battle scars of love, people. This is my idea of heaven. No other river has loved me this much and, I must say, vice versa. The 411: If you want to kayak, raft, camp, hike, lay on the rocks, float in an inner tube, or whatever...check out the Clackamas. Drive straight through Estacada and follow Hwy 224. Or take the fork at the Ranger Station and head down Forest Road 46. There are tons of campsites, both official and just off the road. The water is cold, but refreshing on a hot day. Or, you can head south on 46 to it up Bagby Hot Springs. But please be careful out there, kiddos. People do die on this river every year (in fact, a young woman just drowned 2 weeks ago), so treat it with respect and be aware of the dangers. And if you like getting (safely) beat up by nature, like me, take your neosporin and head out. You're going to get your ass kicked and you'll keep coming back for more.

We were looking for a venue that would be okay with us choosing the catering, and also definitely wanted BYOB to save on costs. Karen was extremely accommodating and excited from the very beginning! She was so easy to work with throughout the process and was super easy going and flexible. There were no hidden costs or unreasonable restrictions. Also having access to the venue on Friday to drop off all our stuff was a huge help! Our wedding was complicated, as we were blending Indian traditions with traditional wedding customs which involved a lot of planning and coordination, and everything went off without a hitch. When I arrived at the venue on the day of the wedding, everything looked more magical and perfect than we ever imagined. It was the best day of our lives and our guest could not stop commenting on how beautiful it was! The farm requires you to rent all your own tables, chairs, decor, etc - so be prepared to do some planning! We had a partial wedding planner - which was the best decision we made throughout the process - It would have been very stressful to make sure the wedding day went smoothly without some outside help. Clackamas River Farm was outstanding, from our first meeting to the end of the wedding - the day was perfection. Thank you Karen!!!

Karen and Michael put so much heart and hard work into creating an idyllic and stunning setting. The venue is yours all weekend, which allowed us to take our time setting things up. The flowers and string lights against the backdrop of greenery makes for an easy layout with no extra decor needed! They were easy to work with throughout the whole planning process, and I could not recommend this gorgeous place enough.

The other dog was off leash, very large, and appeared to be some sort of a pitbull and maybe cane Corso mix. My dog was on a leash as we were coming down the trail. As soon as this other dog saw us, it immediately attacked and we were both injured as I tried to get it off of my dog. My poor dog is now at the emergency vet with severe injuries and a fractured leg that may necessitate an amputation. This woman was so unable to control her massive dog, and did not have a leash that once I got my dog away from hers I was afraid for my life that it would try to attack again and so we ran the mile back to our car so we could speed to the emergency vet. I was unable to get any of her information or pictures. I will not be coming back here. If anyone was in the vicinity of this trail fishing this morning and heard the screaming in the woods or saw anything I would appreciate help finding this woman and her dog as I am now looking at $6000 in vet bills. My hand also required 13 stitches.

The camp sight is small, gorgeous and overlooks the river. Clean and well kept. We felt fortunate to find a spot, last minute, on a Friday in August. The off site camp host (from Lazy Bend) is a lovely man. Very kind and seems to love his job. The issue was: we were robbed at 3 am. We left our cooler on the picnic table, packed all other things away (thank goodness) and our cooler was stolen. Upon discovery, we walked around and asked if anyone else had things stolen and 2 other camp sights (that we spoke with) had coolers with beer stolen. Yeah, so our cooler had our beer and food. All of our food. Several people heard and saw a few cars driving around at 3 am but didn't realize what was going on. I've told several people about this experience and apparently this is common when camping near Estacada. I guess my one-star review is really for the town of Estacada but I don't think Yelp has a review options for an entire town.
