I was looking for Dr. Hollett's contact info online and came across the yelp site and viewed…read moreseveral negative reviews. I felt it appropriate to give a different view. I have been a 20+ year patient of Dr. Hollett. While his bedside manner may not be everyone's cup of tea, he has always been available to our family, still calls lab results himself (often at 10PM!), and is truly a throw back to the days of what we used to call "family doctor". today, everyone is either a primary care physician or a specialist. Dr. Hollett often has DMC interns tagging along with him in his office which, to me, shows his interest in helping tomorrow's physicians see the important work of family doctors. I first came to Dr. Hollett 20 years ago after being dropped as a patient of another doctor when I complained about waiting in his office for 2 hours. Seemed the former doctor was concerned about having patients criticize him for his office's lack of patient consideration. Dr. Hollett has never shown one instance of lack of concern about my well being. I would still keep him as my family doctor if I hadn't moved to South Carolina. Final summary: Excellent physician, personality skills could use some work. Taken in total, I would not want another physician.

But sadly her office and the way it's ran leaves alot to be desired, let me explain you can't barely see Dr. K! You get pawned off to PA's that use Google to diagnose and treat you! Then you can never get your test results on the phone or email you have to use their system that is also sorely lacking because it doesn't cater to the "on the go" lifestyle that alot of us have.(you can only access this system from a laptop or a stationary computer, if you're anything like me my phone is my comp, tablet my everything! Sadly I can not access this system with my phone!) Now on to the ladies, phone etiquette or lack there of, I've gotten out right rudeness or reprimanded by these ladies without a simple explanation! Sooo the Doc gets 5 Stars but her office and the lack of the customer service or even the difficulty to even see Dr. K that gets 1 Star. Overall it's a 2 Star spot with a Doctor that's awesome but her support team brings it down!

I've been a patient at this practice for several years and had been taking the same long-term…read moreprescription without any issues. Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.
