It's a very narrow road, made more narrow by the fact that cars are parked along it pretty much the whole way on both sides. So once I finally worked out where this place was, I was really very desperate for a milkshake and a break. OMFG. What a great place! The menu, while not huge, is packed full of extremely appetizing foods and drinks. The chocolate milkshake I had might well be the best I ever experience. It's hard to describe how good it is. I did get a couple of the handmade chocolates to try, and like the milkshake, they were delicious. Service here is excellent. Really friendly. The shop itself is a converted house, and it's beautiful. It really is. It's surprisingly large. If you look at it from the street, you'll have no idea how many people can fit into this palace of chocolatey pleasure. I'm another who would give this place ten stars. Or more.

They have the standard offerings you'll find at any other Copenhagen store but with more space than you usually see, with some interesting decorations hanging from the ceiling. The staff are clearly new, the girl that served us at the counter was quite slow and served us while other staff took and completed orders for other people that came in after us. Service later wasn't great either, drinks came out one at a time and food was the same, after a while it was clear one drink was forgotten which we had to ask for. Outside seating is nice but when the staff are calling out takeaway drink orders to the entire outdoor area trying to find the right customer it disrupts the relaxing environment you're there for. With time they I'll work out their systems and processes to get things right but until then go in with the understanding that things will take a bit longer than most other places in this popular tourist destination.

Adelaide loves a high tea. It's a really popular addition to the repetoire of pubs and hotels all…read moreover town looking to extend their customer base and have a greater number of bums on seats before that 5pm mark. That said, it means there is a fair bit of choice for the consumer and competition keeps prices affordable and experiences memorable. Having visited several other venues offering high tea around town my girlfriends (and 1 brave boyfriend) were overjoyed to discover there is now a venue in Hahndorf whose primary aim is to provide a specialised high tea service. Antiquteas is on the main street of the historic german town. It is a space inexpensively furnished a little too sparsely with the chintzy, scrolled and frilly garb you would expect from a high tea joint. The service was a little strained but our waitress tried hard enough to be affable... I get the impression this was a little difficult for her. My friend who organised the event said she had been incredibly helpful in the planning stages and they had even arranged to cater for our vegetarian friend who is on a crazy gluten free kick recently, WOW! In my mind thatt is above and beyond. I would have laughed at anyone who suggested I provide a gluten free high tea for them... what is it other than white bread sandwiches with no crusts, scones and pastries??! Anyway - so they have to be recognised for catering for my crazy friend. The sitting started at 11am and a welcoming glass of bubbly had me quite merry on my empty stomach. Each person was catered for with three small fingers of sandwich... one cucumber (traditional!), one curried egg and one smoked salmon and tomato and a tiny fairy sized egg and bacon quiche. There was then a warm scone with jam and cream and a selection of four petit fours, a lemon meringue cheesecake square, tiny banoffee pie, a choc dipped strawberry and a little choc mousse cup. I think they've probably got the quantity of food bang on, although savoury lovers like me may find this is one more appropriate for the sweet tooths of this world. There were just two teas available, Earl Grey and English Breakfast... both were a little underwhelming taste-wise. It was all wrapped up by 12:30 and we were the last group left sitting in the venue. While die hards may want to give this a go I won't bother going back.

I am often given a porcelain-ware coffee/tea cup, and the staff serve you with old/strong tea or coffee. Antiquteas is a breath of fresh air, it is delightfully decorated with tasteful furniture and, to my great relief, fine bone china tea cup and saucer set with matching side plate (Royal Albert to be precise). We had our own silver tea service with loose leaf tea. Later hot water was added to freshen our tea to extend our wonderful experience. The savoury and sweets selection was delicious. After speaking with the owner, the selections change daily depending on what she prepares, so I will definitely return. Thank you for getting it Right!

Just Chocolate excels in handmade chocolate of every form and flavour. Popular for their truffles, Rocky Road, Chocolate Cashew and more, you can almost find a variety which will appeal to you. The prices are just right and there are sample trays for you to try before you buy. Many regulars turn into long time customers which is no surprise at all, considering how good these guys make chocolates!

The service has always been very good - as a matter of fact, I find it hard to fault this place or many of the others along this strip of shops. It can be a bit of a pain to get a car park at times, though. I always walk out with some gifts to give people when I leave here. The problem is that I've usually finished them myself by the time I've driven an hour or two.

Later in the day, also walked into the hahndorf inn pub part for a drink and quick bite before catching the metro bus back to the city. Split a beer tasting flight with my husband and the pretzel/2 dips appetizer. Delicious pretzel with a red pepper dip and then some type of rocket/bean dip. The flight showcased 4 classic German beers. They were mostly light, crisp, and refreshing with the exception of a darker ale. Nice spot to grab a beer and bite to eat if you like German pub fare.

They have an amazing and quirky range of flavours- all made fresh in the shop and offer free tastes to curious passer-byers. On the front of the shop there is a sign that boasts most of the flavours. Think the absolute perfect ratio of peanut, caramel and chocolate in an ice cream. A hint for boys- this is the best way to any girl's heart. Apart from ice cream the shop also sells a modest selection of lollies and chocolates. I wouldn't recommend purchasing these from here though as there are many brilliant lolly shops in Hahndorf.

Treats of Hahndorf focuses on the latter (you can get a kransky elsewhere) and like most ice cream shops offers their own special flavours you're unlikely to see in other ice cream shops. The quality of bubble gum ice cream (or whether or not they actually stock it at all) is her way of telling a good ice cream store from a bad one. The fact that she tried one of the free samples outside the store, then wandered in for a cup of it should say something. I'm not sure if they offer the free samples every day, but if you try one be prepared for a wander into the shop.
