You walk in the door...your eyes suddenly focus on the variety of products available: not too overwhelming but an excellent selection of just what you need! The meats are fresh, produce clean, and dry goods ready for sale. Also, a variety of gadgets meet your eyes, great for campers (like me). Then...a smiling face greets you...makes you feel like your welcome, even if they know your "not from around here". They are knowledgeable and understand how to help you best. So you have it: Selection and Service in one- Intertwined! Shopping at this IGA actually has become a part of my camping trip that I look forward to, and that's not easy to say- looking forward to grocery shopping. And speaking of checking dates, if you don't like paying high prices for food that is past its sell by dates, you better pay attention to what you are buying. The staff are very nice and friendly. The prices are very high -- convenience store prices basically. As a result I'm very selective about what I buy here, very frustrating to get home , get ready to make a sandwich and discover mold. The vibe is basically like the IGA or Spartan stores used to be -- they carry Our Family brand. The best thing is their vegetable selection in summer, where you can get some good deals -- in the winter its best to only buy fresh vegetables you will use within the day or next day -- have been burned with veggies going bad quickly from here in the off season. Good deals can be found when things are on sale. Im thankful to have them close by when I need something, but I would be miserable if I had to depend on them for my main grocery store.

My Ham and Cheese was pretty ordinary looking but the bun, meat and cheese were all really tasty and fresh. I have it on good authority that the Greek Goddess sandwich was pretty killer with feta, olives and stacked meat, and the Italian sub looked great too. It's behind the marina so walking over from the slip is convenient to stock up and carry back. A great little outpost!
