They approach their work like true engineers, with an incredible depth of knowledge and attention to detail. Just as importantly, they have always been exceedingly honest, straightforward, and fair with me. About ten years ago, Mr. Hawley replaced the air conditioning system at our condo and did a fantastic job. This summer, the roughly 30-year-old system at our current house finally gave out. Despite it being the middle of summer, Mr. Hawley squeezed us into the schedule in less than a week and gave us a very good deal on a new Daikin heat pump system. He spent a great deal of time explaining the differences between a heat pump and a traditional HVAC system, answering my questions, and helping me understand why it made sense for our house. I really appreciated being educated rather than simply sold a piece of equipment. Hawley is also one of the companies in Bakersfield with the expertise to install and properly configure these kinds of heat pump systems. The team did a fantastic job completely retrofitting our system, and the difference inside the house is remarkable. The temperature is much more consistent and comfortable, the system is highly efficient, and ours also includes an ionizing air-cleaning system that helps remove particles from the air. It is rare to find a company that combines this level of technical expertise with genuine integrity and customer service. We purchased an inverter AC system from him and it was slightly more expensive than a standard AC unit, but much more energy efficient and half the foot print. Since my vent goes to the roof rather than the side, I didn't want to do it myself. We haven't used the Chimney since we moved in, and with this heat aren't going to for a while, but wanted it done in case we want to in the future. He set a specific time for the appointment, not a "window" time. He was within 5 minutes of that time, even with that little of a delay, he called and let us know. He was quick and efficient, I think to do both took him right around 30 minutes including the paperwork. He was polite and genuinely pleasant to deal with. I was able to get an appointment scheduled within the same week. They do provide a service window, but I requested a later time and they were able to accommodate me. The technician who came out was William, and he was very friendly, professional, and efficient. He answered all of my questions and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. The pricing was fair and comparable to other companies in town. Overall, I had a very positive experience with Econoair.

After having my AC unit serviced by South Valley AC & Heating, I started experiencing an…read moreintermittent issue where the compressor would stop running while the indoor fan continued blowing warm air. If I shut the system off for a while and turned it back on, it would sometimes work again--but the problem was inconsistent and difficult to reproduce. What really impressed me was South Valley AC & Heating's commitment to making it right. They came back out three additional times as a courtesy to diagnose the problem. The first two visits were challenging because the compressor was working normally when they arrived, so there wasn't an obvious issue to find. On the third visit, they happened to arrive while the compressor was acting up, which allowed them to identify and fix the problem. I really appreciated that they stood behind their work and didn't give up just because the issue was intermittent. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure my AC was working properly before considering the job finished. It's easy to provide good service when the problem is obvious. It's much harder to stick with a customer through an intermittent issue, and that's exactly what South Valley AC & Heating did.
