Trails are really well maintained and marked well(ish), but the trail maps at the parking areas lack trail maps, so if you go in without doing your research to find one of the decent (ish) maps that are available online for the area, you may spend far more time in the woods than you want, and end up thinking you are going on one of the loop sections when you are instead taking the nearly 7 miles of most direct route (maybe) from the north parking lot to the south parking lot and have to find a way back to the north lot again. Signage could use improvement, even if it's just adding a color coded map at the trailheads that show which trails are which so you could know which path you want to take for the time you have allowed in your schedule.
The trails are narrow but well maintained. The terrain is not for the faint of heart, though manageable, even at a slower pace by those not in the best of shape. There are a lot of relatively steeper hills, and switch back sections. Not for beginner cyclists either, as there are some decently technical sections for mountain bikes, and a few ravines cutting close to the trail which would be problematic for inexperience bike handlers. read more
