Bought a Backyard Creations grill station and top from Menards. Also bought a Duro drop in gas grill from Menards as this one was recommended as fitting perfectly with the Backyard Creations grill station. The drop-in" grill did not fit well at all. My husband had to drill and fabricate to get it to sit correctly and stabilize it as it was hanging out of the grill station 6 inches. In addition, the bracket permanently attached on the grill station where the grill should sit, was positioned too high to get the grill to fit correctly. My husband is extremely knowledgeable about building and knows how to assemble. This was a nightmare. If it wasn't such a pain to disassemble the grill, grill station and ceramic top and package them up, we would have returned them to Menards. What should have been a 15 minute project, turned into an all day project. And this was a very very expensive station. read more

I called the owner to schedule an estimate to replace the side screens on my truck pool enclosure. They were here in just a few days, and gave me a reasonable estimate. The work was completed within a week and was top notch. Mark and his wife (co-owners) were a joy and did a fantastic job. He also recommended replacing my tapcons with stainless ones attaching the enclosure to the concrete. Most of the old ones had rusted out and it was a great decision. They did the original work on our screened enclosure a few years back, we now have a few sections that need repairs and have called 3 times over the last 4-5 weeks and they never called us back. Seems to me they only care about doing the big jobs, they will leave you high and dry if you ever need a repair. DON'T USE THEM! read more

We just had our backyard screened in lanai installed by Backyard Creations. It is beautiful. We are Looking forward to years of enjoyment. Their install technicians are so creatively talented and professional. Out of the three bids we received, they weren't even the most expensive. Matter of fact is, they were the least expensive!! More of a facilitator than a "creator". - NO COMMUNICATION since signing - always had to call them. - Tried to blame HOA even though they had approval 2 months prior. - 3 reschedules for delivering pavers even though neighbor got them days after signing with someone else. - Sloppy work compared to others. - Seems they have very little sway with their suppliers. - Walkway installation removed grass in places that the walkway wasn't supposed to go. Changed where door was and they showed me their plans which were unclear. - Never came to supervise the work or make sure things were started right. - Never visited us again. Subcontracted prep, footer, delivery, paver installation, and screen. Never saw them to confirm things. - Birdcage took 4 days because workers showed up late, took long lunch, and left early. 3-3 1/2 hours actual work per day. - Cleaning and sealing of pavers took weeks. Said they would come this one day, but it rained and it took weeks thereafter. - No phone calls for some of the visits including the sealing. Just showed up. In hindsight, I would select a more expensive, but more experienced and professional provider. read more

This company has terrible customer service I called them 6 weeks ago after hurricane I asked them to come out and give me an estimate for replacing screens nobody call me back I called them 2 more times because this company built my back patio. Finally one of the owner called me this week and said I will be there tomorrow morning at 9:30 nobody shows up at 9:30, 10 o'clock I called them and lady told me he had an emergency.They can't even give a courtesy call to customer saying they couldn't be there apparently they don't give a crap about small jobs or they make too much $$$ read more

Have used this company before for repairs and my neighbor used them to rescreen their pool closure and they were very happy. Their price was very competitive with others who bid the pool house rescreening. A key component was how good their work crew was and they were really good. Often when you do a project like this it's the little things and there were three on this job and they got addressed very well. Didn't know about a different density for the roof which will cut down on the sun and eliminate pine needles from sticking through the screening. Had a long term leak from a downspout that got fixed and they repaired both the door and the one screen section that was out of line due to concrete settling. Tricky part of the job and well executed by knowledgeable staff. These guys are busy but no wonder as their prices are really competitive and their work first rate. Da! Would heartily recommend the company. read more

We had Backyard Creations convert our screened lanai to a glass room, and it has leaked from the beginning. Despite informing them and sending a certified letter during the warranty period, they have not fixed it. They don't return calls, say they will show up to fix it and do not, and have never done anything other than apply caulk. We paid $11,677.00 for this, and we are very disappointed. read more

I am very disappointed in this local business. We have used them numerous times over the years and their service has gone downhill quickly. The receptionist who answers the phone states they are SOOOO busy each and every time they answer the phone. She uses this excuse when I question why I have not received a return phone call and why nobody comes out to give us an estimate (a simple phone call takes 30 seconds and goes a long way to keep a customer). She has promised on numerous occasions that I will receive a return phone call to schedule an estimate. I have called them 3 times following up. They are obviously too busy for my business, so I am happily going elsewhere where they appreciate my business. I have tried to be loyal to BC, but I am done being ignored and given excuses. I am much more patient than other customers, but even I am now D O N E. They will continue to lose valuable business until they have someone answering their phones that at least gives an appearance of customer appreciation and follows through on their promises. read more
