I recently started birding this year and was getting seed at the major stores. Then one day I saw this place and couldn't wait to go inside. I still get excited knowing I need to go make a WBU run. The staff are absolutely amazing. Everyone is so knowledgeable and so incredibly kind. I became a member which is $25 a year and it saves so much on bird food. They also have the best bird food you can buy with no additives. Yes there's additives on a lot of bird food, who would have thought? This is also a wonderful place to get a gift for someone. So many cool and neat things, be amazed when you come here.

After a min a older white couple walks in and she just goes up to them and offers them her service. Then I realize that it wasn't that she was rude and not talkative it's just that I wasn't the type of customer she would like to give service to. I will take my money somewhere else. I just order my flag from Amazon and got it two days later and cheaper.

The center is a little overwhelming and cluttered, but they have everthing for bird lovers: special types of bird feeder, lawn ornaments (yes gnomes-you gnome freaks), books about birds, etc. My favorite item was the hare and the turtle battling it out on a chess set, with mini turtle and hare pieces. They also had a book on how to attract songbirds to your yard (in case you have a lot of spare time). The owners are VERY knowledgeable about the local bird feeding and migration patterns. Customers come in and report their latest sightings and this makes for a great place to learn about birds. We buy all our seed from here, it is not the cheapest seed, but birds eat it all. Other seed I have bought, especially seed from grocery stores, the birds tend to toss out half of it. So there must be something about the WBU seed that is better. Our fav is the "NO Mess" blend - no husks and no need to sweep the porch every day.
