Do not use these builders for your pole barn project. They are not builders, more like salesmen…read morewho market a nice barn, get you to sign a contract, then take 25 percent of your project money for themselves while subcontracting all the dirty work to third party builders, excavators, concrete specialists, etc. I signed a fixed price contract for a 30x40 pole barn with 14' side walls on 7/28/2018. The build site was excavated on 8/25. Holes were dug on 9/11. The actual building went up between 10/10 and 10/14. Concrete was poured on 11/16 (in the snow). I am still waiting for the finished excavation and some minor trim work (wrong color ordered and mistake caught after installation). In what world does it take over 20 weeks to build a pole barn?? I am very pleased with the subcontractor and his crew that put my barn up. Huntoon Construction gets five stars for their high quality craftsmanship. A1 Quality Pole Barns gets zero stars. I am totally dissatisfied with A1 Quality and the poor communication, poor coordination, and poor service that they have provided, or failed to provide during what should have been a fun and fairly short-term building experience. 20 plus weeks! Really? Totally unreasonable, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Save your money. Find a builder with dirty hands. Jeff H

Hired April 2025 -- unresolved as of January 2026. The project involved residential interior and…read moreexterior work and was time-sensitive due to environmental and animal-safety considerations. I was satisfied with the quality of the work, but the project was not completed. The larger issues were timeliness, follow-through, communication, and billing transparency. Communication became increasingly unresponsive, and eventually the contractor stopped communicating with me directly, routing communication through his wife instead, which led to confusion about prior agreements. By late October 2025, the project remained unfinished. I was later told the business was prioritizing other types of jobs, something that had never been communicated upfront. I ultimately terminated the project in November 2025. A final walkthrough was never conducted before billing. I raised questions about specific invoice items multiple times over several months but did not receive explanations. Concerns that were raised were not addressed, and responsibility for unresolved issues was not acknowledged. In several instances, issues I raised were attributed to my expectations rather than addressed as deviations from the agreed scope or as workmanship concerns. Payment discussions were directed to a third party rather than handled directly with me, which I was not comfortable with, and I was unexpectedly told there was an unpaid balance after being informed a reduced payment would settle the account. I was also later told--after the fact--that the job was being worked on only in the contractor's "free time," which was never disclosed and would have affected my decision to hire them. Taken together, the lack of response to my questions and the use of third-party communication instead of direct contact ultimately damaged the process and made the experience feel dismissive and disrespectful. Additionally, a late-fee policy was introduced retroactively nearly three months after invoicing and had not been disclosed in advance or listed on the invoice. I paid the balance aside from the disputed portion in an effort to move toward closure. Based on my experience, I would not hire this business again. If you choose to work with them, I recommend confirming that scope, timelines, communication expectations, and billing terms are clearly documented in writing from the outset.
