For most of 2012, he was in service to the US troops in Roumania as a Reserve MD. Yellow ribbons wrapped every tree at the Ft Myers clinic in anticipation of his return, and we also wore a lapel ribbon in support. Glad you're back in the US, Dr.B! Bona fides: Graduate: University of Texas, Houston Health Science Center Medical School; Residency: University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital; Board Certified: Internal Medicine Practice Began:1993 Fluency: English & Spanish

Dr Briseno's answer to my question was: Ma'am, I have other patients. My husband ended up in the hospital one week later, and never recovered from his illness. Indeed, Dr. Briseno spends a lot of time with his patients, however, much of that time is spent on him typing and talking into his little recorder, or taking a call from "his neighbor", or discussing his military service. Had he given our concerns a minute of attention, he might have discovered that my husband was indeed very ill. The fact that many reviewers comment on Dr. B's military service and the amount of time he spends with patients explains why he didn't have time when it was my husband's turn to see him.

I have a myriad of medical issues, compounded by stress and other life threatening/ life-changing…read moreevents. I started with this practice as I moved to the area to heal. Though I started with the PA and complications arise, I have never found such an intellectual and caring doctor. With his background in pharmacy, he has helped me adjust to the ever changing laws in Florida. Since day one of meeting him I have felt his sincere concern for my wellbeing in all levels. Though bumps and a bit of confusion happened at first, the amazingly compassionate Trish Paldelecki came on board, now leading the entire team, making it an even more personalized and dedicated service for someone who, admittedly can be quite high maintenance. I have felt well taken care of, felt I have advocated and people who choose to understand my difficult situations, and have worked with me to get me in a path toward health and healing. In 18 months, my life is 100% different and even with new diagnoses from specialists, I am better taken care of than ever before. He listens, he remembers, and he is always overbooked, but I wait patiently as I know he will give me complete attention and address every concern. Utilizing DNA references and other testing, we have stabilized all things in my life and I feel so completely lucky to have him as my physician.

To state I was pissed is an understatement. However, his staff assured me I would understand exactly why the wait was worth it. Boy, did I ever! I have never in my 64 years had a Doctor so caring and through. His mind is filled with details that he lays out there for you in a orderly fashion. He is NOT someone who is pill or vaccine crazy preferring to rely on your own immune system to fight infections. He request blood work prior to meeting with you and then is able to layout a detailed roadmap of your health. Honestly, (horrible to write) but I hope he outlives me as I could not imagine going to anyone else.

I'd like to still be using Dr. Cossu. Great doctor with excellent bedside manner but you have to…read moreoffset that with horrible office staff and appalling billing practices. It's one thing to bill me for services rendered. It's another to bill me for services NEVER rendered and then argue about it. As I said, great doctor but you have to offset that with terrible staff.

The wait time is always 30-60 minutes, his nursing staff are mostly rude & act like they are doing you a favor. His level of care has completely changed to where you feel like you are being rushed through after waiting a really long time, not to mention the I kinda don't care attitude. This last visit was the icing on the cake of my decision to leave him as a Dr. I waited 50 minutes to be taken back to a completely soiled & dirty room from a previous patient! Gross! I said to the nurse that it didn't make me feel comfortable. She cleaned the room with an attitude & never came back. Another nurse came in & started the process. Dr Cossu finally came in. I told him why I was there & that I needed an EKG. He said the nurse should have already done this & also rushed through the appointment. Another nurse finally came in to do the EKG. She left the room to go show the Dr & then came in to give me the results & paper for bloodwork. She said the Dr would call if something showed up from the bloodwork. Dr Cossu NEVER came back to see or talk to me! WTF! WHAT KIND OF PATIENT CARE IS THAT!? Not to mention that when I got home, I realized that several of the sticky patches had been left on my from the leads from the EKG! Again, WTF?
