Indeed, Dr. Briseno spends a lot of time with his patients, however, much of that time is spent on him typing and talking into his little recorder, or taking a call from "his neighbor", or discussing his military service. Had he given our concerns a minute of attention, he might have discovered that my husband was indeed very ill. However, the office manager, Alma threatens patients to pay in advance before they are able to see Dr. Adkins. Alma knows most insurance has a lower 'allowable amount' than what they charge for an office visit. We had to call over ten times to get her to file the claim with our insurance early this year. Alma only spoke with us the first time and then refused to talk with us afterwards. I guess she got annoyed with our persistence and finally filed the claim 2 months after date of service. My husband just went back last month (June 2017) and again and Alma made the same threat. We stopped the credit card charge and called her to explain that we have 100% coverage and why the same day of service. She is not well versed with health insurance because she does not know what the difference between an HRA and HSA plans. She threaten to report us to collection agency. I told her that was inappropriate for her to say, especially since our insurance will pay 100% and the service was just today. She got emotional and I asked for Dr. Adkins to call us directly but never received a call. My husband went back in person to ask and still no call. We have his cell # but at this point if he wants to allow this cancer to exist in his practice, we will have to find another physician. Beware - and know your insurance benefits before you agree to pay upfront. There are likely many patients who are not as fluent with insurance as I and have been taking advantage of.

His level of care has completely changed to where you feel like you are being rushed through after waiting a really long time, not to mention the I kinda don't care attitude. This last visit was the icing on the cake of my decision to leave him as a Dr. I waited 50 minutes to be taken back to a completely soiled & dirty room from a previous patient! Gross! I said to the nurse that it didn't make me feel comfortable. She cleaned the room with an attitude & never came back. Another nurse came in & started the process. Dr Cossu finally came in. I told him why I was there & that I needed an EKG. He said the nurse should have already done this & also rushed through the appointment. Another nurse finally came in to do the EKG. She left the room to go show the Dr & then came in to give me the results & paper for bloodwork. She said the Dr would call if something showed up from the bloodwork. Dr Cossu NEVER came back to see or talk to me! WTF! WHAT KIND OF PATIENT CARE IS THAT!?
