I suffered a pelvic bleed that resulted in nerve damage that caused an almost complete paralysis of…read moremy left leg. After hospitalization and three months of in home nursing care and occupational and physical therapy I was barely able to get around with a walker. After discharge from home therapy and a month of therapy elsewhere I was lucky enough to find Aberdeen Physical Therapy headed by Ian Nagle and with his fantastic assistant Kayleigh. Unlike the mega clinics that pack 15 staff and 50 patients into a shopping center space Aberdeen is a small center with two therapists and no more than five patients at a time. This allows for the personal attention that contributes to the best overall outcomes. On my first visit Ian evaluated me and immediately determined that the greatest impediment to my ability to ambulate was the weakness in my hip rotator. He devised an individualized exercise plan for me and literally "hands on" began working the muscles that were holding me back. Within two weeks I was able to put the walker in the closet and walk exclusively with the cane. Ian and Kayleigh continued adding strengthening activities to my routine until I was able to walk without the cane in most instances. I still use it for longer distances and on rougher terrain. I cannot express my gratitude to this team of caregivers. Rather than Physical Therapists I call them Physical Magicians.

I'm actually not in any pain yet, but I'm looking forward to a good Rolfing and maybe some Feldenkreis cranial-sacral work. Make me cry tears of transcendent emotional breakthrough, is my challenge to you. My case of MS is a little different from any other. My first symptoms included a loss of my sense of taste and pins and needles sensations starting in my feet and working their way up until my entire body including my face and tongue were affected. I came up with a little jingle with memory prompts for the names of the generic prescriptions I am on: Kepra and Kloracon, (the two k's) and atorvastatin and baclofin (A and B) Venlafaxene and Lozartan (two words that come from the letters from the middle of the first one) Gilen-ya To the tune of 'my favorite things'. My main problems are my balance and heat-sensitivity. Lately I've been improving with the last one through the 'body reading' work I've been doing.

I've been to many rolfers over the last 15 years and he is one of the best. Not only did he help me with a recent Injury but he also worked out older issues that predated Injury and showed me how to maintain and further improve with exercises I can do daily. I'm excited to see the effects of this 2 hour session continue as I am so much better than when I walked in. I knew in the first 30 minutes that he knew much more than most rolfers and I am already planning my next trip back to see him again! Book in advance and expect results. Worth every penny. Thank you!

Due to her rudeness I chose a surgeon at a different practice, sorry Dr A. But thanks for taking great care of my dad. It's the way the office is run that gets me crazy. Making appointments can make your hair go gray. After hanging on hold for anywhere between 5 to 18 minutes after calling the main number, you best be sure they are truthful when giving an appointment many weeks out. There are probably appts sooner if you are standing in front of a friendly office receptionist. And if you are calling to reach a doctor or his/her medical staff, good luck with that. If you are already a patient in the practice, best to ask your doctor for an extension to reach their medical assistant in case you have an emergency and need to be seen immediately. A broken bone or excruciating pain cannot wait for weeks.

I returned to this practice because I had previously had a good experience with Dr. Berkowitz…read morehimself. Unfortunately, my daughter was seen by another provider on his team, and the experience was completely different. His bedside manner made both my daughter and me extremely uncomfortable. His body language and the way he examined a young girl felt creepy and inappropriate to me, with very little explanation of what he was doing. I also received almost no meaningful answers to my orthopedic questions. Afterward, I repeatedly tried to address both the visit and the billing. I emailed, called, left voicemails, and even went to the office in person and spoke with a manager. I was repeatedly told someone would get back to me. No one ever did. My last detailed email at the end of July was also ignored. I trusted Dr. Berkowitz's name based on my previous experience with him, but what happens under his team reflects on his practice as well. I would not bring my daughter back and cannot recommend this office.
