Their genuine care and kindness continue to create a space where our son is able to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. His teacher Aneta is a dream. She's incredibly compassionate, patient, empathetic, loving and above all genuine. There is no one else like her and my son loves her truly. She's the only one who calls me if my son has an accident or isn't feeling well. She keeps me in the know always. I thoroughly appreciate the care and her positivity toward my son and everyone around her. Her people skills are incredible. The past 2 weeks I've been receiving emails requesting feedback on the staff. Today there is a need to write this review ...I'm sad I have to write it. This week has been difficult trying to find childcare for my daughter for spring break. Bright Horizons has been notifying me there is no placement in my area. Imagine my surprise when I saw Lightbridge Academy- Westwood pop up as placement. I was thrilled since my son goes there it would be perfect to have my daughter there for 4 days for 4hrs a day. I spoke to the assistant director this morning and told her I was surprised they were listed as a center. I told her I submitted a request for my daughter for the following week..and asked if she could confirm my daughter can be at the same center as my son. She said she'd look into it. I said do you mind letting me know sooner rather than later since it's Friday and I need to lock in childcare for my daughter..her response "I'll look into it" ..I was thinking to myself ..wouldn't she say "of course" and try her best to assist especially since my son already is enrolled at this academy for several months...As I turned to leave, I said to her again do you mind letting me know by 3pm ET today. and her response "I'll look into it... I already knew my daughter was not going to be taken at this center for the 4days with Marisa's lack of enthusiasm and her apparent annoyance at my request. I'm truly disappointed in Marisa. As a working mother like herself..I wish in that moment she put herself in my shoes but instead I didn't leave the building yet..and her and her colleague at the greeters window were talking about me behind my back. Who I am is a mother who needed help for 4 days- for 4 hrs per day ...and instead of trying to accommodate a parent who already has one of her child enrolled at their center...Marisa called me and told me sorry we don't have placement. (There was NO surprise there) ...I told her I was already notified by Bright Horizons. I told her I'm disappointed and it's unfortunate..she apologized she couldn't do anything ...I have worked with Bright Horizons for over 7years ..accommodations could be met especially for a parent who has a child already enrolled in the center. That's who they accommodate first (siblings). Marisa said it's nothing personal. I hope she understands my review is not personal. I wish they had more Aneta's in the world ..and above all I wish there were more Aneta's at Lightbridge Academy-Westwood. The world would certainly be a happier, friendlier, kinder place.

I attended the Manhattan School of Music for six years as a classical piano performance major; the…read moreschool is alright. There are many things it could improve, however. Most of the teachers are absolutely helpful and friendly; I have enjoyed interacting with them. However, some of the instrumental teachers (private teachers) assign an unreasonable load of repertoire, which made my six years of study pretty stressful. My personal piano instructor constantly made me prepare unusually large programs over the period of just 3-4 months for a major performance, competition, or audition, which was extremely stressful and unreasonable. In addition, there is an utter lack of performance opportunities for piano majors. Each student has the right to reserve one recital per season, but that is it. There is an utter lack of performance opportunities for piano students; other instrumental majors (and voice students) have many opportunities, including concerts. But piano majors have pretty much nothing, other than chamber performances and a few events. There needs to be far more concerto performance opportunities with orchestra. The concerto competition only allows first place winners to become soloists, which is completely unjust. If you want to prepare students to become performers, you need to give them an environment which simulates the concert pianist's career, which means regular performances, especially with orchestra. I would personally organize far more concerto competitions for pianists and award far more students to solo with orchestra. The school needs to do a better job of preparing students for the real world; its curriculum is outdated and needs innovation. There needs to be much more done to train piano majors how to teach, and give them actual work opportunities. There also needs to be far more emphasis on contemporary music; why are we constantly forcing students to play Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and the old classics? We need contemporary music, music that will appeal to young audiences.

Administration is more focused on political posturing than running an educational institution. Based on their terms and conditions, if you don't withdraw your application before July 1st, you are responsible for paying THE WHOLE year's tuition ($27000+ in our case). Even if, for whatever reason, you realize you can't send your baby to this school. Even if you relocate, or your baby is not happy there, or you realize you don't like their approach, or even (and this is the most absurd case) if your baby is inconsolable and they call you to come and pick him/her up every day, you are still responsible for paying the tuition in full. Moreover, they don't let parents observe how their baby adjusts initially. They don't guarantee to answer your phone call; indeed, we called four times and left messages, and they didn't answer for days. Some schools let you watch through CCTV, come and check in regularly the first few days, or have an app to see what's going on. This school has none of that. We are talking about sending a baby under one year old to an entirely new place for the first time without his/her parents. As parents, we have to stay in the dark about how he/she behaves. Considering these factors, we withdrew on April 26th, over four months before the term began. Despite having paid $3,800+, NONE of it was refunded. To be fair, they insist that their school is not for everyone. Take that seriously! We believe their registration's terms and conditions are very unreasonable, to say the least.

Never have I met a more passionate, dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic educator. Her background in reading and social education were key to us making the decision to enroll. -It utilizes "The Virtues Project," which places emphasis on character development and morality that is absent in most educational programs. -My son is gaining skills that were challenging for me to address prior, such as fine motor strength and adaptive skills. He has only been attending 5 months and is already showing proper grip for holding writing utensils and is eager to dress himself. Areas that were nonexistent prior. -The Montessori Method is fully implemented with gorgeous materials, a clean and peaceful environment, and with everything accessible. -It's affordable. My son only attends twice a week for half of the day, which is infrequently an option at Montessori schools. This allows me to remain the primary educator of my child, replaces the multiple classes we were paying for previously, gives me a short break to grocery shop or complete errands, and allows my child to experience a school atmosphere with a wide-range of peers. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the school is socio-economically and culturally diverse with its student and teacher population. Children are not only being taught about multiculturalism, they are experiencing it with one another. This lays a foundation of positive interactions, understanding, and appreciation for the beauty of humanity for children during their most tender years.
