While the guests gathered on the lawn in the shade of an enormous fig tree the Groom waited patiently for his bride in the stunning rotunda. After the ceremony we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the bar which is beautifully decorated with vintage furniture and on the deck overlooking the Samford Valley. Afterwards we enjoyed an amazing three course meal and danced the night away at a truly divine venue, one of the best weddings I have been to. Ordering was possible through an app or at the bar. The menu is varied from pizza to pasta, salads, sandwiches and more. My partner loved his pizza. The kids loved the Spaghetti Bolo and Mac & Cheese while I went with a Ceasar's salad. At the bar I asked for no anchovies and dressing on the side which they were happy to accommodate. I eat keto / low carb and was also able to choose from 2 low carb beers! Service was friendly. The food came quickly although it was busy. Ambiance and decor: I love the style, the high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows. It was too cool to sit outside but that area has a nice vibe too! We'll be back!

My husband and I had recently celebrated our third wedding anniversary, and so we were looking for somewhere nice to spend a couple of nights. I dont think we could have asked for nicer :) We had a one bedroom apartment on the 10th floor overlooking the ocean. The Oakes Mon Komo is part of a bigger building that has some residential accomodation as well. There are two towers to the building, the Residential tower and the Oakes tower. The Oakes tower has a range of apartments, a mix of 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments. With a choice of Ocean View or non Ocean View. In my opinion it is DEFINITELY worth paying the little bit extra for the ocean view - the view that we had was spectacular and the sea breeze was just divine :) The apartment was fully equipped, with fully kitchen (including stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher), laundry with washer and dryer, and a fantastic balcony! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the whole experience from an accommodation point for view was great. However, the one and only thing that I do have to complain about was the food from the restaurant. On our first night there - we ordered take away food from the restaurant downstairs. I had to go down and collect it, and my husbands risotto was great. However, the food that my sister and I ordered left a lot to be desired. We ordered a cheese platter, which was fine, and a bowl of chips which were served in a styrofoam container, and so they were VERY soggy by the time I got them back to our room, and although I ordered them with tomato sauce as well as aioli, there was no sauce to be seen. But with the food aside, the accommodation experience was fantastic. :) As far as accommodation goes, this is a definite YES. Just maybe choose one of the many other options for food in the area. :)

Excellent location and the outside dining patio has exceptional view of Bribie beach and bridge. The restaurant place was so inviting. The view of gardens, ocean, fishing boats and has a petting zoo for kids were absolutely stunning. The food were excellent also. Papaya salad was fresh. Loved the tangy, salty and spicy taste. The Macadamia Barramundi was the best. The fish was perfectly cooked The Morten Bay prawns were spot on. Cooked beautifully. Curry special with rice was one of the recommended. Crème brûlée was a silky soft custard with caramelized sugar on top. The land skewer meat was kinda chewy. We have to order first in cashier and they bring it in. Water needed to ask for them for refill. No attendant during dinner. Required to go in the counter to order menu. Overall it was a great experience and reunited with old friends .

The staff are helpful and friendly, but we found the food disappointing. The wine list was also underwhelming.

Brisbane Brass is a community brass band organisation, comprised of four bands each at a different level of competency--A-grade, B-grade, D-grade and Junior (under 18). Anyone is welcome to come along--you're bound to find your fit in one of the bands. The bands play a variety of different gigs throughout the year. You may find one of the ensembles in a Brisbane park of a Sunday afternoon; you'll definitely see them in the Anzac Day street march; and if you happen to stumble upon a State or National band competition, you'll find them there too. I played with the B-grade ensemble for a number of years and enjoyed being part of the "Brisbane Brass family". The groups work hard towards their individual goals, but are also very social, too. Maybe your trombone has been laying dormant for 20 years or perhaps you don't even own an instrument, the Brisbane Brass folk always try to accommodate new members. They have a number of instruments available for loan, included in an annual membership fee of around $75-100. Keep in mind, too, that there will be costs in travelling to competitions.
