This practice is amazing!!! I have been going to this practice for treatment of post chemotherapy…read moreneuropathy for approximately two years. They have always treated me respectfully and with compassion. Specifically I would like to recognize the practice manager Kerry. She has gone above and beyond several times in my care. She made certain that I had medication refills when the doctor was unexpectedly out of the office, and even helped me get in with a specialist that is not in the practice because I was unable to get an appointment on my own. This office is always timely and I rarely have to wait (like so many other doctors offices) for my appointment.

I have been going to Ahwatukee Health and Recovery for 2 years…read more I cannot express enough how much I love the staff and the doctors. They are ALL extremely kind and professional. They take the time to listen to my needs and they follow up with me to inquire as to whether or not my needs were met, and the answer is always yes! They text me reminders of my next scheduled appointments, which I really appreciate because life gets so hectic and sometimes I forget. The staff has checked in with me during business hours, after business hours and on the weekends! it makes me wonder when do they ever have personal times for themselves? If I could give them a 10 star rating, I would!!!!! Thank you to everyone on the office staff and thank you to the doctors, the counselors and psychiatrist. Keep up the great job as you all have made a positive difference in my life. It took a lot of time and patience to get me on the correct medications, but no one gave up on me! Sincerely, L Gregory, patient

I went to Legacy at the end of 2024. I had done extensive research and read their website from top…read moreto bottom, trying to choose the correct location for treatment. One thing that keeps me from giving them only one star was that the vast majority of the people who worked there did truly care about the clients. However, the website was extremely misleading. According to the website, their clinical director was a nationally recognized expert on trauma. Another clinician was also lauded for her many therapeutic successes. However, upon arrival, neither of those therapists even worked there anymore. And, just during the four weeks that I was there, they went through three different clinical therapists. Although their website boasted of a "robust therapeutic team," there were only 10 hours a week of group therapy led by a licensed therapist. The rest of the groups were mostly led by mental health techs. The techs did their absolute best, and I don't fault them. However, they are not qualified to be leading therapy groups. Their website featured two psychiatrists, but I only saw one of them one time over a zoom call. Other than that, medications were managed by a nurse practitioner, who we only saw via telehealth. Additionally, although individualized treatment was advertised on the website, each client had the exact same assignments to do, and everyone attended the exact same groups. The only individualization was in individual therapy, of which I had a total of about 8 hours the entire time I was there. Additionally, the next-door neighbor, apparently did not like living next to a dual diagnosis mental health treatment center, and regularly harassed some of the clients, including me. As someone already dealing with trauma, that exacerbated some symptoms. There was also a definite lack of professionalism among some of the staff member. One staff member used the word, "retarded" several times, and another came to work smelling of marijuana. She later had a screaming fight with someone on the phone in the middle of the night, waking up several clients. She was let go, but it made me feel concerned about their hiring practices. There is clearly a lot of employee turnover at this center. One of the most egregious problems I encountered at Legacy was that my primary counselor made several HIPPA violations, sharing my personal, clinical information with someone that they were not authorized to share with. Additionally, although many therapy modalities are mentioned on the website, a great deal of therapy was through worksheets from therapistaid.com and some were clearly AI generated as well. Watching YouTube videos was also very common in group therapy. Another serious issue was that they sent me home without all of my medicine. They also changed one of my medicines, but didn't give me a new prescription or contact my home psychiatrist to let her know that the prescription had changed. In fact, they did not coordinate with any of my outpatient providers at all. They also misdiagnosed me. One thing that the program did well was create a close environment among the clients. It was a cohesive and caring group of people, and we truly enjoyed each other's company. Shea and Angel were both amazing, caring, and compassionate people, and I was grateful for their kindness and support. I do believe that Legacy is a better choice for people dealing with substance abuse than those dealing with primary mental health.

There are both good and bad medical professionals at this facility. The key is to find a decent…read morecase manager who will find you a good PCP. That helped me a lot. I had some decent therapists. Until I decided to accept a therapist who was conservative. This woman not only told me to "pull myself up by my bootstraps" (I can get that kind of opinion out there in the real world). It does not help people, IMO. This same therapist also convinced me to participate in her group therapy. Well, it turns out, that the therapists were offered a $1,000 per month bonus from Bayless if they had so many billable hours. Boy, did I feel like a number in her $12,000 per year bonus. How do I know this? The therapist told us in the group therapy! She thought an awful lot of herself. How do I know this? She told us! Also, when I was designated SMI, Bayless dropped me. This Integrated Clinic does not accept SMI patients. Doesn't the whole idea of integrated care, include mental health?

I would like to recognize Mark's credibility and professionalism at Bayless…read more He is the one who recognized my TBI instantaneously. I recall looking at him like he is a medical genius. TBI patients tend to downplay symptoms due to previous trauma. If you have a TBI history, or PTSD, amongst other issues, please do not hesitate to book an appointment with him - Mark can help you. With brain trauma, arriving to appointments prepared, retaining the information without an interpreter, and comprehending what they are trying to explain to me in live time is difficult. I struggle daily as to why my progress in the health field takes longer. His extensive medical experience in the trauma field and mental health background outshines providers who may be unfamiliar with TBIs. Although they may appear "invisible," the impact on a patient can go unnoticed. I feel Mark Williams deserves acknowledgment that treating a TBI patient takes hands-on experience and expertise, patience, and dedication which he holds. Thank you so much!:)
