As a mental health practitioner, nurse, or physician, I strongly advise against applying to this…read moreorganization. The interview process is nothing short of embarrassing and humiliating. It is evident that the Chief Executive Officer is incompetent for allowing clinical supervisors to demonstrate a lack of interview skills and capabilities when recruiting credentialed providers. In October 2025, I interviewed for a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) position. On interview day, one supervisor introduced herself with an air of disinterest, seeming unwilling to provide any information about the job. Another supervisor was not keen on discussing the position and eager to dive straight into the questions. When I asked for clarification regarding the job expectations, a different supervisor finally explained that the role would involve being an overnight crisis responder and then asked, "Do you know what that is?" Let me clarify: you are asking someone who holds a doctoral level degree and has over thirty years of experience in mental health if they know what a DCR is. This is a credentialed role in Washington, and it felt insulting given that I was the one being interviewed. I had assumed they would have reviewed my resume beforehand, but I was clearly mistaken. I was aware that Kitsap had issues related to poor organizational infrastructure and a lack of responsibility in leadership. However, to interview with three supervisors who appeared to be struggling to stay awake was telling; it indicated a lack of quality within the organization and raised concerns about the stability of mental health treatments for patients and clients. I urge people to reconsider applying to this organization. While there is indeed a pressing need for qualified providers to serve Washington's most vulnerable populations, who wants to work under such subpar leadership that shows no interest in the applicants from the outset? Remember, an interview is a mutual process; you are assessing them just as they are assessing you. If Kitsap Mental Health supervisors cannot establish a positive rapport, they are unlikely to be effective leaders in the long run. Do you really want to work under a supervisor who displays such a lack of engagement? I highly doubt it--so don't waste your skills and time on this organization.

Recovery Allies is the best value we've used in our family's recovery journey. The staff works hard to communicate, assist & find the best treatment for each family. The staff uses the Arise model to improve dialog within families so that when your loved one is no longer requiring as high level of care, the families can discuss issues in a healthy fashion. Rachel's goal is to get us to a place where we don't need her anymore! Rachel stuck by us, & our "person of concern", as we navigated addiction treatment. We aren't out of the woods yet, but with Rachel, Chelsea, Ernest, Patrick & Katrina, we have found hope.

I am filing this complaint due to a highly concerning series of events during my recent emergency…read moredepartment visit. I experienced medical negligence, unprofessional conduct, and poor infection control practices that warrant immediate review. I came in with chest pain. After cardiac issues were ruled out, no further testing or treatment was offered, even though I was still in pain (later confirmed to be severe heartburn). I was discharged without receiving any appropriate relief or care for my symptoms. The nurse who placed my IV blew a vein in my arm and caused visible bruising and pain. I was later handed discharge papers--but still had the IV needle in my hand. I had to return to the charge desk and alert them. Only then did the nurse reappear and take my vitals again, acting as if I hadn't already been discharged. Even more concerning, my blood sample (drawn during IV flush an hour prior) was still sitting out on the exam table. When I asked about it, the nurse simply tossed it in the sharps container. My urine sample was also left out in the open. I had to ask what was happening with it. The nurse responded that since I had told them I wasn't pregnant, they "didn't need it anymore"--but no one had informed me they would be discarding it, nor did anyone properly dispose of it until I asked. The level of care was sloppy, unsafe, and deeply unprofessional. My husband was present for the entire visit and witnessed each of these failures firsthand. Kaitlynn
